DC's characters tend to be generally "stronger" & presented more evenly in terms of power than Marvel's characters so I'm only going to address Marvel in this thread.

Who are Marvel's MOST POWERFULL EARTHBOUND characters? Alternate timeline characters like X-man & Marvel Girl III are included but characters like Thor are EXCLUDED b/c he's not from Earth.

I'd begin with:

Invisible Woman
Ms. Marvel
Charles Xavier
Legion
Dr. Strange
Magik
Selene
Hulk
IceMan
M

Who would you say? Agree/Disagree with?

I would add She-Hulk, Dr. Doom and Apocalypse, perhaps Ghost Rider as well except that he may be disqualified by what I say next.

I would consider disqualifying Magick becaue the source of her greatest power is not of Earth.

Let's discuss Magik for a moment :)

She's a human, born on mainstream earth. She's a mutant. Her primary power is defined as
"telepathic control of energy portals referred to as 'light circles.' Later the term "stepping disc" was coined by Shadowcat when describing the manifestation of Illyana's power. Her power to manifest & control these stepping discs allows her to teleport through time & space, forward or backward. She can carry herself & up to 10 other people in a single disc or use the discs offensive/defensively. As a teleporter, Magik was deemed by the Human Council to be the most powerful/dangerous mutant teleporter. What makes her even more dangerous is that these discs she telepathically controls original from an eldritch pocket dimension known as Otherplace, more commonly referred to as Limbo. This realm exists outside the "rules" of time & space as they are defined & perceived by earth standards. Magik is also Sorceress Supreme in Limbo & her magickal power there is nigh omnipotent, allowing her to do just about ANYTHING. Her magickal power on earth is quite dangerous still, although not to the same level as in Limbo. Still other powerfull mages such as Dr. Strange, Spiral & Amanda Sefton all regard her with extreme caution or even fear.

So her mutant power is that of a high end teleporter but a byproduct of her particular form of teleporting is access to a realm that she now reigns over as sorceress supreme & thus is able to display considerable magickal power on earth too.

Does that disqualify her? I would argue that Unlike Thor (for example), she IS Earth born & human.

Apocolypse is an earth born mutant, but a vast amount of his power & longevity has come from extraterrestrial technology, should he be disqualified too?

I think i would have thrown in Magneto and maybe Exodus, i agree with Rampage on Apocalypse.

Iceman has the potential to be a real powerhouse, and i think even more so after reading X-Men Legacy and Uncanny X-Force (thinking of AoA Iceman) but i feel that he gets taken out way to quickly, but he defintely has potential.

The same w/ Dazzler. Her power potential is truly unlimited & has been showed to allow her to vanquish such foes as Klaw, absorb a full on barrage by Blackbolt & even gain the attention of Galactus, who bombarded her w/ the sound of an exploding galaxy & she absorbed that to gain the power to fight one of her heralds.

Despite the perception some kids today have of her. this is real, CANON history

Scarlet Witch
Hope Summers
Cable/Nathan Summers
Jean Grey
Molecule Man (where ever he is now)

Owen Reece (Molecule Man) was REALLY one third of a Cosmic Cube while Beyonder was two thirds. They merged and formed Kubik a while back as I recall.
