I'll tell you in another lifetime when we are both
So, on Netflix, having rewatched Rome, Star Gate Atlantis (which I actually think was underrated) and between episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine I stumbled Lost Girl.

A Canadian number about a Succubus who doesn't know anything about her past or why she sleeps with guys and they die. She suddenly finds herself thrusted into the World of the Fae.

Not quite as teeny-bop as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or as sexually in your face as True Blood and devoid of teenage angst found in Vampire Diaries I have to say I am hooked and am left wondering (like with Boondocks) why this never made it over the pond.

It's awesome, the sex (given that it is a sex demon) is far more tasteful, I like how the show isn't limited to hetrosexual relationships and even the characters physical looks are fitting with the theme, like she is attractive but not too attractive as to detract from the fact that she has to use her powers - OK that last one may just be me.

In any case, its simply refreshing to for a show to focus on another mythological being other than vampires or zombies. Don't get me wrong, when you think about it a sexual life energy draining Succubus isn't that far from a blood sucking vampire but its nice to at least have something marginally different.

Have you seen it, what do you think?

I really like it.

Think they have a nice mix.
It can be plain funny but still take a more serious turn at times.
That's something I often appreciate in any show.

/SK

I like this has a nice balance of humor and action with a cast that can pull it all off. definitely a show i love to watch more of, can't wait for season 4

I just got through the first season/series? I'm team Lauren/Loren?

I like her emotional vulnerability compared to Dyson, who has none.

The episodes with Saskia/Aife great character IMO. Gonna miss the Ash's voice, I want to sound like that.

Favourite episode of the first series has to be the one with the Luck eating Dark Fae and the body switching Fae.

Halfway through Season 2 - Netflix has improved the way TV works, seriously.

Loved that body switch episode. Dyson playing Kenzie was amazing

"I got the wolf junk babe!"

But something, doesn't sit well with me about an earlier episode. Bo has sex with Dyson's old wolf buddy while Dyson and Lauren are in the Clubhouse and they're just cool with it. When she came down in her (after) sex kimono I was like "oh you slut". I wanted Dyson to bat shit crazy right there and then.

I may be a little hooked on this programme....

That is my favorite episode lol

I think Dyson accepts that Bo needs to feed, and remember he was getting all beat up trying to be her sole food source lol, so he realizes she needs to feed on other men/women.

I get that I do, but the guy gave up love for her and its like she's taking him for granted by tapping his friend. I've also gone completely off Bo now that I'm up to the episodes where she is with the Dark Fae, Loki. It's like she completely doesn't care about Kenzi.

Well exactly, he gave up his love for her.

:)

Yeah and she should honor that by never sleeping with another man ever again.... OK, well just his friends, that's just not cool.

Why is it all Supernatural female protagonists have to sleep with the enemy (Buffy and Spike, Elena and Damon, Sooki and Eric...) and they always have to do it at the expense of the nice guy who loves them, why!?

- Sorry I may have had a mini meltdown.

But see at that point in time he DIDN'T love her ;) And don't forget that she didn't know what had happened. And he went back to his ex the second she waltzed into town...

I actually agree with you, but there are explanations for it. I think Bo is probably my least favorite character on the show lol

Yeah but its still humilating for him and not nice for Lauren (who, yes, went back to her girlfriend when she came out of the coma - I feel most sorry for Lauren).

Dyson went back to Ciara (sp) because he thought that he couldn't love Bo, not that he could not love ever again. (That has gotta suck).

BUT, you agree with me, ya! Interesting that Bo is your least favourite character, who is your favourite. Wierdly I have none, I just like the dynamic between each of the main cast I'm addicted to that as oppose to any single character.
Also as a Succubus Bo is rubbish. If that were me I'd...

I'm glad there is a 4th series coming out, but whether that makes it to Netflix (British Netflix) is anyones guess.

If we are talking attraction Lauren or The Morrigan (then Bo and never ever Kenzie).

If we are talking characters then if I had to choose, Trick.

If I had to pick a fella then the Original Ash, man that brotha was good looking and if he can actually do that voice, sweet Jesus.

I want to take back what I said. When Kenzie wears a long dress (like the one in the episode where she pretends to be Hale's girlfriend) she can actually look quite curvy and subsequently attractive to me. That said she still is a bit too skinny (I may make a thread on the subject) for my liking.

Also, following on the discussion about favourite characters. Lauren is the most intriguing character to me.

I was just about to revise my answer to say the only character I dislike more than Bo, is Lauren ;)

She is just SO WHINEY!

Oh have a heart!

The actress plays the character superbly, and acting as the counterweight to Kenzie's carefree human, Lauren serves as the perfect character to protray the mortal condition's vulnerability - within that she gives the show an element of realism.

On a personal note, I felt so sorry for her when Nadia walked to the shower and tried to stab her, the way she said "please" and looked afraid was so believeable I was literally rewinding that scene over and over. However, what is most impressive IMO is that while the character appears 'weak' amongst some very strong archetypes (sidekick, knight in shining armour, antihero, femme fatale) she loses none of her sexual appeal, but its her intelligence that gives her strength (and its her greatest weakness) I like that.

OK, I know I'm going on but I just got to the end of season 3 - literally been watching episodes last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

I fucking loved this shit more than I loved Vampire Diaries and the first 3-4 seasons of True Blood.

It's got a budget smaller than Red Dwarf but MAN its addicitive and somehow they make the fictional World appear far larger than they are able to show on screen due to carefully placed references. I doubt season 4 will even make it to Netflix, which means I'm going to have to go ninja on the Internet and stream from Canada or get Sky TV and watch it Sci-Fi.

I'm still feeling Lauren
I've grown an attraction to Bo
I'm liking the kiss between Kenzie and Hale
Tamsin is awesome
It's time one of the main cast die
Bo's father is Odin or a Odin type Fae in the same way Ryan was a Loki.

Please lord let there be Thor...

I now need something else to fill my life.
