London Riots: Why the Violence Is Spreading Across England
The morning after riots gripped its main shopping thoroughfare, parts of Ealing, northwest London, looked less like a middle-class suburb and more like a war zone. On the night of Aug. 8, a group of hooded youths ran up the street throwing trash bins while others stomped on the top of police patrol cars. Still others shattered through glass phone booths and set cars on fire, not far from the town's picturesque rows of Victorian houses. Simon Kirby, who runs Flower Haven, a small florist, says his brother phoned him at 6:30 a.m. to let him know that his shop's windows had been smashed and his floral displays ransacked.

GIMME A BREAK. If you have eyes, ears, a brain & are capable of critical thinking its OBVIOUS what's going on. People are pissed off! "Austerity" is becoming a buzz word around the globe & the only people who aren't being raped by it are the wealthy [e.g. top 2% in america who are doing BETTER THAN EVER while the middle class has been EVISCERATED]. & yes, racial issues are a factor but its really pathetic to me how britons & americans are acting so shocked about that like "how could that be?!" anybody NAIVE enough to believe we live in "post racial times" deserves to be beaten. :rolleyes2:
America isnt the only country rapidly turning into the land of the Haves & the Have Nots w/ the gap between the two growing wider. Its happening all over & people are suffering. They're getting PISSED & combine that w/ all the other shit that lies beneath the surface like racism, social media making easier for idiots, sociopaths & retards to find a "voice" & gain traction ...its bound to make shit happen. Kinda like Murdoch's toxic media/propoganda machine Fox News/Wall Street Journal helping to give rise to the Tea Party, which in my opinion should be branded as domestic terrorists.
Its sad & funny tb/c i think about a related article i read earlier today & it highlighted that several british reporters have had to eat crow after making sweeping assumptions that the rioting youths were "ALL BLACK" only to find out that the MAJORITY of them were supposed middle class/posh white kids! gee...racial stereotyping happens across the pond too, who knew? [sarcasm]
Ann Coulter's racist, contemptible ass is on tv [Fox news of course] suggesting GENOCIDE as an option to "save england from itself"...& w/ her statements, you can tell that she's assuming or more than a little implying that the rioters must be black but over the past few hours w/ new details about the actual rioters coming out, she & all these other people have gotten VERY quiet. :world: does this bitch even know what GENOCIDE means & the depth of what she's suggesting? :rolleyes2:
