It really does. I can't believe this board has been open since 2005. Shit, we had a 5 year anniversary and we didn't even celebrate it!

thats true, we did miss our 5 year anniversary mark but look at it this way...we've outlasted every other board just about including some of the "big" boards. guess my idea for a "board for adults" wasnt such a radical concept after all lol.

It's unfortunate that we don't have very much activity on here though. It really is the only board that I can think of that allows members to have free say without being monitored [within limits of course].

Honestly, I think we have a "problem" in that The Six has such a huge presence on the board, and takes up so much of the core members' posting, that it's hard for other new members to come in and be active. With a lot of the quotes even being Six ones - it definitely dominates.
I say "problem" because I don't really mind it lol, but as far as new members. None of us really post that much outside the Six. Multi-subject/general boards are hard to get people signing up on in the first place, and for a person just looking at the board, it's hard for them to see a reason to sign up and post...

I've tried to post outside the six, i was better about it before and im slowly getting back to that now, but after a while, all you'll see is "Jill Monroe" as the last poster in any given thread lol.
im at the point where i dont care about new people because ive tried actively courting people to come join and being as interactive as i could and they still fall off. a board can have everything but if a person doesnt make it their own then what? folks can read/post away on their own. and even if no one responds if everyone did just that, read/post...then there'd be more activity.

I'm not saying it's your fault It just is what it is. I know what you're saying though.
You can look at AD though too - we only have a handful of active members posting there the same as here. It's hard to get people to come and post there.

Well in reality, there are only 6/7 people who actually post on the board lol. Besides the six, the rest of the board is barely active because of that reason alone. Maybe instead of revamping the board look wise like we always do, we should revamp it in it's entirety? Downsize it to a few core forums that we know will stay active. Or put more emphasis on the six? Like have the subforums as main ones. Like:

Character Bios
Past Storylines
I dunno lol
I mean, why not make the board for US instead of the public, since we are the only ones who have stayed active in it's 5 years of being up?

Nope, not at all
But people don't usually register just because it's pretty I think we've pretty much downsized the board to the bare minimum as it is (unless we ditch the subforums of the main forums for a while to try and get them more active - which is an idea).
We *could* make it a Six board, and I would be fine with that, but I don't get that that's what Farrah and Dan are looking for. But I could be wrong and then I'll shut up lol. If you guys want to move the Six subforums to the main page, I can do that.
Personally I think it's more about all of us making a concerted effort to post outside of the Six. But that's just my 11 cents, what the hell do I know? lol
The other thing is, we don't really ever advertise. If we did more link exchanges, that would help.
In the end it's up to Farrah. I think a six board would be awesome, but that would leave BK out in the cold.
But I do think maybe getting rid of the sub forums in all the main forums would help make the board at least more appealing and up to date. I mean, its never fun to see the last post from a year ago in a sub forum lol.

Sometimes we'll get a good topic in the moonlight lounge which will grab everyone's attention. But for the most part most posts come from the six, and most posters gravitate there.
Maybe making the six the focal point of the board, but keeping a general discussion forum, a comic forum, and an entertainment forum so we can still discuss other topics [that is if farrah wanted to make it strictly six].

But just want to put it out there that if we do make this a "Six" board, we can pretty much kiss getting any more real posting new members goodbye. Because I do think it's off putting to potential members, when it's something they can't join in with.

I thought about the idea of a "SIX BOARD" briefly but I don't think we should go in that direction.
