Listen to Aaliyah!

[Karma]

Aaliyah, another musical gift from Detroit (along with Madonna, Aretha Franklin and even Eminem) left this world FAR too soon, but in the 90's her music dominated the radio waves. I remember playing (and enjoying when others played) her many hits in highschool and her first hit "Back & Forth" still remains a favorite of mine.

while surfing youtube, I found this fantastic remix...so i wanted to share this with you all. some of you may find some nostaligia for a more pleasant time when you hear it..and others will enjoy the sublime sound of this remix. its the original video but apparently the person who remixed it is quite good at what he does.

here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS1qTwfaWtw

post your comments here about Aaliyah, this remix and her music in general.

That was a hot remix. Aaliyah was such a great artist. My favorite song of hers was from the Dr. Doolittle movie, 'Are You That Somebody'. I can only imagine if she was still alive, how far her career would have gone.

I LOVE this remix of Back and Forth

i think my favorite song of Aaliyah's is a tie between "At your best" (the remix), "Age aint nothing but a number" and "Rock the boat". Aaliyah had one of those soft, almost angelic voices and I could listen to anything she sang.

i LOVED the video for "are you that somebody", the choreography, the outfits, her hair style...it was all just very stylish and sleek. I also enjoyed her videos for "More than a woman" and "Rock the boat"

Probably my favorite song from Aaliyah would have to be "Try Again" I think it was from the Romeo Must Die soundtrack. I just loved the choreography and the music video in general. The chorus and even the main verses I just loved how that song flowed.

Old School Aaliyah I like "Four Page Letter" and "One in a Million", I remember my cousin and I used to sing out loud to these so much when we were younger.

And of course you can't forget "Are You that Somebody?" that was one of her biggest hits! The music video was so popular! and just everything about that song POPPED!
