Jamie Lee Curtis = Intersexual/Hermaphrodite??

Is it true that she was born as an intersexual?

"“Intersex” is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. For example, a person might be born appearing to be female on the outside, but having mostly male-typical anatomy on the inside. Or a person may be born with genitals that seem to be in-between the usual male and female types—for example, a girl may be born with a noticeably large clitoris, or lacking a vaginal opening, or a boy may be born with a notably small penis, or with a scrotum that is divided so that it has formed more like labia. Or a person may be born with mosaic genetics, so that some of her cells have XX chromosomes and some of them have XY."

I just heard about it from a colleague and was wondering if it was factual or just an urban legend.
 
Well its certainly "widely known", my parents (both doctors) have talked about that since i was young. I dont know for a fact that its TRUE or if its simply a wild urban legend,.

I dont know if this is related to BUT while Jamie has been very glamorous (Fish Called Wanda, True Lies for example) at times and is aging very well, I do find her facial features to be a little androgynous for a woman.

If you look at her younger days, back in Halloween, she did have what appears to be a masculine jawline.
 
This is the first i heard of this rumor, i guess in hindsight elements of her face do seem a little masculine but this seems a little far-fetched.
 
It is currently a rumor. There are certainly reports of it in the medical community and some interesting facts concerning her, the strongest one being that she chose to adopt rather than conceive, an unusual choice for a woman who did not work a lot for years.

But it has been accepted that it is unlikely that she is a hermaphrodite especially considering the fact that great strides have been taken to find this information with absolutely NO success. If she were in fact a hermaphrodite when born, a LOT of people would have to know about it (doctors, nurses, corrective surgeons and nurses, dozens of clerks) and ALL of them would have to keep quiet. Impossible, considering the value of such information.

I say it is likely false.
 
You're forgetting who her parents are. She was born from Hollwood royalty: Janet Leigh ("Psycho") and Tony Curtis and at the time Jamie would have been born, such a genetic phenomena would have still be "scandalous" and "controversial"...her PARENTS could have used their clout, lawyers or whatever other resources to have Jamie's medical records sealed/blacked out. It sounds "conspiracy theorist" i know, but its not far fetched, it has happened before with celebrity medical situations.

Even now, hospitals are VERY quick to crack down on staff/personnell who snoop in files. Just look at all those people who got fired from Cedar's Siani in California after snooping through Farrah Fawcett's records to find out more about her recent cancer issues or the ones who were snooping through Britney Spears' files.

Her actuall status as a hermaphrodite (or not) could be one of those "best kept hollywood secrets" that the general public will never know for sure....while it is a popular urban legend.
 
Kinda makes you feel bad for all the guys that have drooled over her over the years ever since she appeared in Halloween...

And it makes me feel dirty for lusting after her during her striptease in True Lies. :mad25:

why? (aside from the fact that you sound like any other silly man lusting after an image on the screen :p) she was beautifull in True Lies, very glamorous. In Halloween, she was just barely into her 20's wasnt she? She looked like any other young girl, a bit plain even.

that she might have been born "intersexed" doesnt take away from who she is or the talent she has.
 
I agree that she could have had her history blacked out, but the fact that that info would have had to survive the late 80s/early 90s when nothing was safe, prompting the passage of the HIPAA laws is a bit hard to believe. But it COULD happen, your point carries more weight over time in my mind.
 
I think her face is just a simple case of her being her father's daughter and that's all. Her choice to adopt other then conceive could be due to some other medical reason other then her being as some would suggest.

I loved that dance scene in True Lies, I laughed so hard when she fell.
