Heart Attack
A 60 year old man suffering from chronic unemployment, increasing health issues, loss of family, friends and his companion- decides to kill himself rather than remain a casualty of the "american dream".
Read his suicide letter. its long and kind of disjointed at times, but its worth the few minutes itll take to read. its heart breaking, i was feeling very sad as i read it and whats worse...alot of what he's saying about the state of things in america right now is TRUE.
For everyone of him that makes the news, there are many others who feel this is their only way out.
Whats so scarey is that most of us are probably one or two pay checks away from falling into this nightmare of homelessness and other problems. what would you do if this became your reality? its easy to say "there are places you can go" or "there are jobs for people who want to work"...but I know people who have college degrees like myself....some up to a Ph.D and they were laid off/lost their job and have not even been able to get a job as a front desk clerk at a hotel, or even a fast food place (as if one could possibly LIVE off the income from a fast food job but still).
It really saddened me to read this ,knowing that someone took their life and also knowing that much of what he described about whats going on in america right now is so true.
