Have you guys seen the trailer?

This kinda looks like old hat now, after all the zombie, apocalyptic flicks that have come and gone. But apparently the book was a big influence on George Romero before he made his Living Dead movies.

This looks like a very loose adaptation, and I think Will Smith is miscast, but maybe it'll be entertaining. It just looks like a giant, slick Hollywood thing.

Hmm...I read the book and it's really good imo...

BUT I don't like Will Smith in this either. The whole point of IAL is that it's this non-perfect average guy struggling and hopeless. He's not an action hero.

The film also seems more 28 Days Later than I Am Legend.

Yeah, I think I'll be too curious not to see it.

I just got through watching the '64 Vincent Price version online. It's pretty godawful, lol. The plot's basically intact, but...the pacing sucks, the acting's very hammy, old fashioned. The sense of dread and danger just isn't there. It picks up a little in the final act. It's like Ed Wood's slightly more competent brother directed it. The book will always be there, at least.
