Hollywood Walk of Fame

I just found out that Jimmy Kimmel is getting a star.

I was always under the impression that only people who were 'big' enough got one [ten years ago I had no idea as to who Kimmel even was; I still don't to be completely honest]. But then, during a trip to Los Angeles in 2002/3, I noticed that Kermit the Frog had one.

I don't know, but the 'glamour' Hollywood Walk of Fame kind of diminished for me after that.

What do you guys think? Are there people you feel don't deserve to have a star on it? Or do you feel that everybody who has a star rightly deserved it? Or are you like me and feel that whomever is in charge of the Walk are just grasping at straws now?

As for Kermit, he's a muppet Icon. I believe Freddy Kreuger also has a star so I can see that. But Kimmel? no way. He's not an actor or anything else...he's just a talk show host w/ a few disastrous attempts @ hosting awards shows like the golden globes.

for me, the idea of "star quality" has diminished thanks to reality tv shows & the ppl from those shows now being held up in the same light as REAL talent like Meryl Streep etc. A logical person doesnt see a "reality show star" in the same GALAXY as someone like Meryl Streep & yet...that's what you see in the media all the time now. Kardashian this, Kardashian that

Okay, I can see Kermit as he definitely is an icon. I can even see Kreuger.

But I am googling the list right now and Jennifer Aniston got one for.....motion pictures. I can definitely see her with a star -- as she spent a decade playing Rachel Green -- but for movies?!

I think I just threw up in my mouth at the mere thought of a Kardashian star. *shudders*
