I notice there was no discussion on this so I decided to create a thread for it. So what do you think of this show? I absolutely love it... I never got to read comic books as a kid, so I couldn't even begin to compare it to earlier comic book works, but I can honestly say this is my generation's "X-Men".

Here's a brief discription of the show.

Heroes is an American science fiction drama television series, created by Tim Kring, which premiered on NBC on September 25, 2006. The show tells the story of several people who "thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities" such as telepathy, time travel and flight. These people soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind.

The series loosely follows the writing style of American comics by doing short, multi-episode story arcs that build upon a larger, more encompassing arc. Even with small story arcs that move the story forward, Kring said "we have talked about where the show goes up to five seasons".

When the series premiered in the United States, it was the night's most-watched program among adults aged 18-49, attracting 14.3 million viewers overall and receiving the highest rating for any NBC drama premiere in five years.

On October 6, 2006, NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly announced Heroes had been picked up for a full season.[4] On January 17, 2007, Reilly announced Heroes had been picked up for a second season.

At the end of episode 18, "Parasite", the series went on hiatus until April 23, 2007.

I took this from Wikipedia.

I disagree about the X-Men bit lol ;) I don't relaly like the show, though I've started watching it again since Chris Eccleston joined the cast. It has gotten better, but the characters just don't make me care about them at all.

Well I wouldn't even begin to compare it to the X-Men, but it is my generation's most successful attempt at a super-human type drama. I think it has gotten better... there is so much left to be revealed. I think in the beginning it sucked mostly, because there was so much that had to explored. Even now there's alot of info we have yet to figure out. I think the first season will be kind of shaky, but it off to a good start. It has alot of potential.

Vil, did you stop watching it again? Or have you continued at all? What happened to Eccleston anyway? I haven't seen him in a while.

I like Heroes. I wasn't crazy about it at first but I thought the show quickly worked out [most] of its kinks and now it's one of the best shows on TV. The dialogue needs work but I doubt they'll work on it...it is supposed to be comic bookish after all.

i believe Eccleston's character has been written out for the time being. He probably won't be back soon if ever or hes still around and no one can see him. I really find myself enjoying the dialog its a pure transition from comic book to television media.

I pretty much second all that Vil said (except for the Eccleston thing ;) ).. I stopped watching for a bit, but started again, and I do like it and find it interesting etc. I just can't care about the characters, and even less now than I did in the beginning actually.

I do however love Clea DuVall in it, heh, mhm..

I only started watching Heros in it's second season. I was a bit confused in the beginning because I didn't watch the first season, but i'm hooked to the show. I really enjoy it! But i'm going to rent the first season so I have a better understanding as to why everything's happening in the second season. lol

Yes...rent the first season, lol. Honestly, the first season was SO much better then this one. @_@ Let me know if you agree after seeing it! Like to hear your thoughts on that.

Heroes' Oka Talks 'Villains'

Masi Oka, one of the stars of NBC's hit SF series Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the show's third season--subtitled "Villains"--refers not just to superpowered bad guys, but also to the bad guy inside us all.

"I think that you'll see a dark side of everybody, because being a hero or villain is very subjective," Oka said in an interview at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 20. "Each human being has the ability to become a hero or a villain. It's the choices that we make every day, and that can be influenced by the things around us. So you'll see the journeys of everybody, you know? ... Will they become heroes? Will they become villains? Even villains can become heroes. It's all relative."

Oka returns as the time-and-space-jumping Hiro Nakamura. This year, he will have his own personal nemesis: Daphne, aka "Speedster," played by Brea Grant.

"She's Hiro's nemesis," Oka said. "And every time Hiro sees her, he calls her his nemesis. And she's great. She's very spunky. She's a speedster. It's kind of like Batman has his Joker; Hiro has his Daphne. Except I consider it more like a Wyle E. Coyote and a Roadrunner relationship, except she says more than meep, meep. And Hiro falls off from cliffs a lot more as well."

Oka added: "Brea's fantastic. She came from Friday Night Lights. She's such a joy to work with. We had a chemistry test, and I loved working with her, and we have so much fun working together. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it as well."

Oka added that viewers can expect to see the version of Hiro from the future again. But with a twist. "You'll see a lot of future everyone," he said. "You'll see Future Claire. But you'll see a different kind of Future Hiro. Future Hiro as we've seen won't exist anymore. Well you know, because [the disaster was prevented], because we change everything."

And Hiro will once again be with his best friend, Ando (James Kyson Lee). "There is definitely more of the Hiro-and-Ando show going on," he said. Heroes returns Sept. 22 with a retrospective clip show at 8 p.m. ET/PT and a two-hour season premiere at 9. --Patrick Lee, News Editor

So with season 3 we'll be seeing supervillains. heres hoping its better than season 2 was.

I've been seeing previews for season 3 and I have to say i'm super super excited. I actually started watching Heroes during the second season, which made me go rent the entire first season to see how everything got to the point it did in season two. After watching season one I definitely agree that season two wasn't as good, but I still enjoyed both. So i'm really hoping season three will be amazing!

I think the biggest issue was the writers strike and the rush to wrap things up. Hopefully there wouldn't be any hitches these season to cause issues.

And more Hiro!!

Spoilers for Season 3 from the Comic-con panel

At the San Diego Comic-Con today, NBC previewed nearly all of the first episode of the third season for "Heroes." SPOILER highlights follow:

Turn back now if you don't want to know! Still here? Here we go...

- The shooter of Nathan Petrelli from last season was revealed - Peter Petrelli from the future.

- Nathan is revived... and has a vision from God. Believing he's an angel on God's mission, he is set up to be some sort of religious zealot in subsequent episodes.

- Sylar corners Claire in her house. Despite hitting Sylar over the head and stabbing him, she's caught. In a scene that drew gasps and revulsion from the audience, we see Sylar probing her brain as she twitches on a table. Claire, who is conscious, asks, "Are you going to eat it?" Sylar responds, "Eat your brain? Claire, that's disgusting." He then steals her invulnerability, then puts her skull cap with the hair back on her head (to more groans). I think someone in the audience got sick after seeing the scene.

- Suresh develops a serum to give humans powers and injects himself, thus giving him super strength.

- Hiro takes over his father's company and discovers a secret formula in his father's safe... which is promptly stolen by a new speedster character. When Hiro travels to the future to see the results, he sees his future self confronting Ando over the formula... then Ando shocking him with a red bolt of electricity.

- HRG is shown in a prison cell while Nikki is shown as the mistress of a Governor.

- Parkman discovers Peter shot his brother, but Peter then zaps him into a far away desert.

There were a few more details and surprises, but I want to leave something for you to see in the episode! The cast came back out for a short Q&A. A couple of fans dressed as Samurai Hiro and a Sylar victim brought some good laughs to the enthusiastic crowd.

Final verdict? "Heroes" Season 3 puts the show back on track and sets up a lot of fantastic storylines for the season.

In my opinion . . . . . . .HOLY CRAP!!!! Must see new season :xyxthumbs:

I am getting so excited for season 3! I cannot wait for Sylar to be back and badder than ever. (he's my favorite character on the show) The begining of Volume 3: Villans was so amazing and I just can't wait to see where they go with the season.

liking season opener hopefully this will be better than 2. I'm like the villians already. need more Daphne V Hiro lol.

Yeah Daphne the Speedster is AMAZING! I am so excited that Sylar is back and better than ever with Claire's powers...I cannot wait to see where they are going to go with this season.

I really enjoyed the season premire. And i'm so glad that Elle is back! I hope she continues to be a reoccuring character. I'm not a huge fan of Daphne, I don't know what it is about her....but maybe she'll grow on me.

And dude, Nikki's new power is freakin' kick ass.
