Gotham

I'm really on the fence about it. It's either gonna be great or it's just gonna suck. An judging by the promos it looks like they are completely banking on Jada Pinkett Smith. There hasn't been a whole lot shown on other characters...I just don't know lol.
 
There's a character that looks like she's related to Selina Kyle or a young Selina. & I agree w/ you, they're really playing up Jada's role/character & it's probably a big gimmick & she'll be killed off early on or will only have a small appearence. (I'm still bitter about HawthoRNe being cxl'ed, that ws a great show)

I think the idea of an origins story for Gotham is good in theory, but if the characters arent written well & there's no reason to CARE about them, then this will not go over well. I still think about WB's overhyped & BADLY executed Birds of Prey.

As a big Batman fan i'm SUPER excited about this show! But like Brandon said, i'm also on the fence about it. It's either going to be fantastic, or it's going to fall short. And I really hope it's fantastic. I love the idea of a prequel and how all of the infamous Batman characters came to be, along with Batman himself.

So i'll definitely be watching it. :)
 
I'm gonna be honest I haven't heard anything great about this show but Agents of SHIELD started off weak too and after a while i really started enjoying that
 
Well I'm definitely going to keep watching this. Having few expectations (even though I'm a long time reader of various Bat characters) allowed me to be pleasantly surprised. Even Gotham City itself is a character, the way it has this dark glow about itself. Selina Kyle (future CatWoman) didn't have a whole lot to do in the premier but knowing what the character means to Bats, I know her time in the spotlight will come.


the one GLARING issue i had was how this show attempts to link EVERY major Bat villain to the murder of Thomas & Martha Wayne. That's just not canon & for them to try to make it that way was sloppy & a misstep. Ppl might remember that Tim Burton had the Joke being responsible for Thomas & Martha Wayne's death in his movies & that worked for those films...but the show needs to stick to the comic on this one & keep the murderer as some anonymous mugger. the death of his parents, NOT THE KILLER, was what drove Bruce Wayne to become batman.

I really liked Fish Mooney (even though I HATE that name)...but I can already see that Penguin is hot on her heels to become top criminal in town. I hope this doesnt mean that Fish is a short lived character b/c honestly Jada really does a great job in this role & I want to see more of her.
