Am I the only person who "sneaks in" her own food/snacks to eat @ the theatre b/c the concession stand's prices are RIDICULOUS?

You can judge me if you want to, I don't care. I'm not about to pay $9.00 for a tired little plastic container of stale nachos & "cheese product" LOL & the popcorn is all GMO now so I dont want to bother w/ that either.

The only thing I will purchase from the concession stand is a frozen drink, i do love those & since I don't go to the theatre that often, I don't mind treating myself, but @ those prices, it's kind of pointless to purchase anything but the larger size to make the value for the $ come close to squaring up.

Girl, i'm known for bringing my huge purse and stock piling it with candy and drinks LOL. My friends and I always hit up CVS or Walgreens and get the same exact candy they sell at the theatre for a dollar lol! The only thing I really do splurge on is popcorn because I absolutely love movie popcorn. And usually i'll go halvsies on it with a friend.

But OMG, I have to tell you this story. Me and my friend went to go see a movie recently in the middle of the week, so there was literally about 10 people in the theatre. We were sitting one row up for these 4 older ladies and a few seats down from them. As the previews were ending I got this overwhelming smell of lo mein and was like wtf? So I leaned over to my friend and was like, do you smell Chinese food? And we both looked over to the 4 ladies and they legit had fucking buckets of Chinese food in their lap and they were eating it like no bodies buisness! LMAO. I was dying laughing, I had never seen anything like that before in my life.

IKR!? having a big purse is PERFECT for stuff like that!
my family does this as a group. we bring chips, drinks, candy the only time we pay is when is for the cheap movie popcorn which is good even though it taste like "popcorn" in butter adjacent product twenty minutes after you get it.

Im the same way. I have a love/hate relationship with movie popcorn. I love the butter, I love the salt, and once I start eating I swear I could eat their entire machine's worth LOL.

Sneaking in everything, i swear if there was a place i could plug it in i'd bring my own coffeemaker, for now i'll have to make do with a coffee can :p

The prices are ridiculous.

I always sneak in stuff for us. We have a family of 5 now, so movie ticket prices alone are something we can only splurge on once in a while, and the price for food and drinks in the theater are something I can only afford if I'm by myself. :\

Hey girl :)
I'm from Sweden so I have the luxury of not having to sneak anything in luckily. You're allowed to bring in whatever you want here. They prefer it if you buy their (overpriced) stuff but it is not even frowned upon to bring your own. Which I always do. Almost at least, they have these bacon snacks that are unbelievable and worth the price every now and then :)

America is so uptight & backwards over small, simple things. <<sigh>> wish we could do that here

I wish they would make it that way here... Then I wouldn't feel so bad for leaving the diapers out of the diaper bag in favor of boxes of candy and bottles of water. LOL

Do you eat those bacon snacks?
They look gross, I've never dared to try them. lol

But yeah, I've never thought twice about bringing own stuff into the theater and no one has ever said anything about it.
Usual I prefer not to eat while I'm watching a movie though.

Black King It's like the Swedish movie version of pork rinds more or less. We have different seasonings on them but bacon is my favorite :)
