It's scheduled for release in February 2009 on (you guessed it) the 13th.

Preliminary details can be read here.

and for one of the big questions: PAMELA VOORHEES, the MOTHER of Jason Voorhees and the ORIGINAL killer in the Friday the 13th franchise will be played by Nana Visitor (of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)

I would DEFINATELY have picked Denise (lt. yar) Crosby over Nana Visitor to play the intense role of Pamela Voorhees.

I KNEW the day when Friday the 13th (and Nightmare on Elm street) would get the "remake" treatment would come...and now its all but upon us. I'm NOT excited...im more disappointed than anything else. I'll probably PASS on NoES considering that Michael Bay is involved.

Friday the 13th MIGHT be worth the watch though. I'll be PISSED if Pamela is marginalized. To me, SHE was more engaging than Jason ever could be.

Lol. It looks so predictable I have to say. And Jason doesn't 'run', which it looks as though he kinda was there. It doesn't look awful but I'll wait for it on DVD in 2009 lol.
