Who arrived–and who fell off–Forbes’ list of the world’s poweful women?
By Laura Rozen | The Envoy – 17 hrs ago

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff topped Forbes magazine's 2011 list of the world's 100 most powerful women, released today.

Many of the 100 women named on the list--eight heads of state, politicians, humanitarians, business and technology leaders, journalists, media tycoons, and non-profit chiefs--are familiar from past years' rankings: Merkel, Clinton, Rousseff, IMF chief and former French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde, PepsiCo's Indra Nooyi, Oprah, Lady Gaga and J.K. Rowling, to name a few.

Hmph. I see that looney toon Michele Bachman made the list @ #22. The ABC soap killer, Anne Sweeney rounds out the top 25 of the 100. Kinda sad to me that Beyonce made the list & is among the top 20. Oprah has gone down much further than she's ever been before. She usually was #2 or #1 & ALWAYS in the top five. Now she's #14. There's lots more business women on here than have been in the past.

I expected that Hillary Clinton & Angela Merkel would be near the top if not THE top 2 given all that they've been involved in the past year & Angela is one of the most prominent heads of state in Europe these days.

i think Oprah dropped off simply cause she ended her show, without she doesn't have the ultra massive reach she had before, its downgraded to only super massive lol
