First Look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman - Comic Book Resources

Hot on the heels of the first image of Henry Cavill as Superman arrives the first look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Debuting on the website for the Warner Bros. movie, the photo shows a catsuit-clad Selina Kyle riding the Batpod, indoors no less. It’s difficult to say from this shot whether her costume is indeed patterned after Darwyn Cooke’s decade-old design, but we can tell that it has a zipper and that it doesn’t cling to her body like a second skin. She’s obviously also wearing goggles of some kind, but they’re decidedly different from what the character sports in the comic books. Perhaps they provide her with sonar vision similar to what we saw in “The Dark Knight.”

The final installment of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises” also stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman. It opens on July 20, 2012.

2012 is sooooooooo far away

What do you mean you're working on it, Vil??

Personally, I think she looks more like Batgirl than Catwoman. When I think Nolan's Batman series, I think dirty and dark. I think Heath Ledger's Joker, gritty. But this image just screams afternoon children's show. Ugh, i'm personally disappointed. I became a fan of Catwoman because of Michelle Pfeiffer's rendition in Batman Returns when I was a kid. When I heard Catwoman was going to be in this movie I got so excited. But now i'm just kinda meh about it. I'll still see the movie when it comes out though. And i'm hoping they put together some wicked trailers to make me super excited again lol.

Honestly, that image doesn't really do the character justice at all. I am not that crazy about it either, but that's just one picture. I love Anne and I love Catwoman so I'm hoping that the picture doesn't define the entire character because from where I'm standing, the character is crap and Anne has business playing with her. :(

I love Anne Hathaway, I just would never have pictured her as Catwoman. I hope she does the character justice. Michelle Pfeiffer was perfect in the role and set a really high standard for how the character is shown on screen.
