BOSTON – Geraldine Ferraro was a relatively obscure congresswoman from the New York City borough of Queens in 1984 when she was tapped by Democratic presidential nominee Walter Mondale to join his ticket.

I remember hearing about her as a child. She was legendary with women (whether they were feminists or not). definately a trailblazer for women in politics and the perception of women's roles in america in general. She resurfaced more noticeably during Hillary Clinton's historic run for President in 2008. Definately fiesty and a ball buster. I admire that about her.
