What is your favorite era of comics?

*The Golden Age: 1930's - 1950's
*The Silver Age: 1950's - 1970's
*The Bronze Age: 1970's - 1985
*The Modern Age: 1985 - Present

My favorite would be the modern age. I've mostly only read comics from post-crisis. I've tried to read some of the early issues. Like with Dick and Bruce. Or early Superman. But I just can't read them. I find the occasional issue I like but I haven't found or heard of anything to make me want to read them.

I feel like the New 52 should be classified as a different age because it's like Crisis it reboots the continuity.

Definitely the modern age since my interest in comics started with reading all the 80's era british invasion (aka Niel Gaimen's work at vertigo, Warren Ellis at Wildstorm, Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and the rest) I read a lot of that and some of the cream that rose from the crap that was the 90's dark age (aka the age they killed Superman and gave Venom a series) too. So about 65% of my views on what makes a comic good comes from there. But yeah I'm definitely a modern era guy.

I loved when they killed Superman. I still haven't read "Return of Superman" cause it took me forever to get through "Funeral For a Friend"

I started reading comics a year after the Modern Age began & there are many storylines in Marvel & DC that definitely make the Modern Age stand out. But there some great characters/stories in the Bronze age as well. Things like "The Dark Phoenix Saga"

The Bronze age also featured the dawn of FEMALE power in comics, especially in Marvel. characters like Ms. Marvel, Mystique, Phoenix, Dazzler & many more. Phoenix changed the game for female characters.

It seems most people say the modern age. I think it definitely has some of the best storylines and characters. So maybe a better question would be which age do you think was the most influential or progressive?

Obviously the Gold Age brought us a lot of our majors heroes and kickstarted it all. But what about the others?
