False Memory

By this time, Mike was used to the strange, and today did not disappoint. He was acquainted if not introduced to the team already, so he nodded knowingly as people introduced themselves. If these people thought that he was sending them people like Sharon and not checking them out then they are idiots anyway. But they CAN fight and perhaps this was all formalities.

Doc started doing her thing to help the girl before them and suddenly, it was like they were seeing - no, experiencing a dream of sorts. It was Frost's past!

An overload of memories flooded her. Her childhood, the torture, the pain, the experiments, the fear. Her father, so cold and malicious. Her adoptive father, so detached and hateful. Her sister Morgan....The Six.....EVERYTHING. It all hit Jasmine like a wrecking ball. Her mind spun as the flood of memories continued to invade her psyche. It was overwhelming--painful in every sense of the word. The hope for a better future was gone as the bitter reality of her life returned to her. Then HE was there. Christopher. Standing above her, grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Jasmine's breathing was labored as tears fell from the corner of her eyes, looking up at him helplessly.

Christopher: I'm almost there, Karen. AL....MOST....THEREEE.....

Finally, he drove a sharp instrument into Jasmine's chest.

His heads up display showed nothing, but when 'Christopher' lept at Karen Mike pulled Madelyn and was ready to fire when it dissipated at the last second. He had stepped in front of Karen, who had fallen into Delilah's arms. She needed medical attention.

Meanwhile Frost jolted awake and screamed at Karen, seemingly intent to start a fight in her confused state. Valkyrie ran interference while Vivica tried to get the doctors to act. Mike held Madelyn in his right hand as he turned to see what was going on quickly before checking back at Frost and Valkyrie.

:: She looked around at the shocked staff around her all seem to be frozen from fear and not Jasmine's abilities. ::

"She said she needs a GODDAMN Doctor! Hello!?"

Mike grabbed a doctor who was standing too close and tossed him beside Karen.

You'll do...check her out and advise. Double time. Doc?! Are you with me?!

It was a phrase they shared, and inside joke that was also purposeful. If she was at all lucid, she should know that he was there and to answer him...

Hazel had a lot to impart to him and so he listened, took it all in. It was interesting to hear her speak of what he had already done and how it related to his issue now. And she had a point. It sparked something in his mind and when she asked, he was ready.

"Alison Marble would not be spending her time with you if she felt you had no greater purpose, and I think you might be facing it sooner than you think. After all, you must know, your destiny does not lie within these walls...or even necessarily with the Harbinger herself. You are a smart boy, but intelligence isn't going to solve this problem..you have to look deeper, to the part that talks to you when the rest of your mind is quiet, that feelings that tells you the difference between right wrong. You have to feel passion for something..."

<< Smiling >>

"Otherwise, life just isn't worth living my dear...So...tell me, Xavier. What is your passion? What drives you to succeed? What makes you feel really good about yourself?"

Xavier sat forward and looked into Hazel's eyes, searching. He found his words and continued.

My entire life has been spent studying culture and peoples and interactions. That has inevitably led to my study of inequality, discrimination, manipulation and the exploitation of people. And I suppose my escape was playing a bit of Sir Robin Hood, taking from those who have for those who do not have. But since this last...caper...I think I am now motivated by a greater purpose. Runes can be remade. Lives cannot. There is a greater evil behind, overarching. Just hearing Alison talk of old stories confirms that. So now, for me, I will get my thrills by taking the Big Bads out there by the bollocks and giving them a thrashing for the little people. I am going to enjoy my life hazel, I am gonna kiss the girls and drink the drinks. But I am also gonna find a way every day to make the world, as much as I can, a place that the little people can find peace if not wealth. Oh, and another thing.

Xavier pulls Hazel to her feet.

I am taking you and Alison on the town and raising hell. Asses will be popped, drinks will be had, and there will be stories told - and withheld - about that night. Consider yourself warned.

By now Xavier was smiling, his eyes gleaming. He felt more at peace having spoken to someone and the fun was back!!!

"Well, out of the mouths of babes."

<< She said in a rather amused tone. Hazel couldn't remember the last time she had been around as person as young as Xavier Winston Jr. in quite some time. She had forgotten how hopeful and inspired young people could be, though it was bittersweet that they would all learn that their plans and ideas to change the world often causes you to lose a little bit of faith in it. Stil, it was actually rather sweet for Hazel to see a young man, full of bravado, ready to go fight the world injustices. She had almost forgotten that children like this existed. For whatever reason, many witch's journeys were ones of solitude and secrecy. Witches valued remaining hidden from the outside world, and for whatever reason, Hazel believe that many mutant's journeys involved the spotlight. They wanted to be outright and proud of who they were and show the world they shouldn't be scared of them. An interesting path indeed. >>

"Yes?"

<< The witch laughed. >>

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves darling...I think the achievement of world peace would would suffice. I have to say, I understand now, why Alison might be intrigued by someone like you...she's always loved somebody who was a little bit naughty, present company included!"

<< She gave his drink and cheers and took a deep swig. Hazel was enjoying herself. >>

"Now, tell me...while we wait. Out of all the things you've recovered in your travels....which one was your favorite and why?"

He thought for a moment as he swallowed his drink.

I have only been discovered once, prior to Alison doing so. I had found an ancient sistrum in a private collection. Obviously stolen, obviously displaced. The objects, you see, they give me impressions, not the least of which is where they originate. And so I was off, finding myself in a dusty, nearly dead village in the Sinai Peninsula. It was really a sorry sight, no vegetation or much water, lots of starvation. I waited until night and dashed in to replace the item at roughly .9 Mach and was making my getaway when I almost ran over a man. And OLD man. He was blind, but he somehow knew that the sistrum was back and that I HAD DONE IT. He told me that he had fasted for 22 days and lost his sight because he vowed to watch the place where it was supposed to lay without ceasing, praying to Bast until it was returned. On the 15th day, he told me that Bast took his sight, but gave him other gifts, not the least of which is he could sense me without sight and somehow speak English apparently. He kissed my hands and feet and bid me the blessings of Bast herself. I must admit that I was skeptical as I ran away...but something made me come back. I was drawn to that dusty village a week later to find...an OASIS. Lush vegetation, food aplenty, livestock, happy people rejoicing. I watched from a hill, hidden, as the people rejoiced around that same old man. As I watched, he turned his blinded gaze to me and smiled. I knew then that I was doing the right thing for real. You see, I was 15 years old. I will never forget that man or that village in the Sinai.

Xavier looked out over the horizon, almost as if he could see the village even now. The effect of that situation was obvious even now...

<< Karen felt as though the air in her lungs was being pulled out! Christopher...or that representation of him that she, Frost, and those SELECT others had seen, had TOUCHED her and her body, her SOUL recoiled in horror, pulling back and abruptly ending the spell. >>

<< For a moment, she was lost, she couldn't think, she couldn't BREATHE. She reacted physically as though she were defending hereself from an oncoming ATTACK by Christopher, and only CERTAIN others in the room saw that whole apparition.>>

<< She'd fallen into Delilah's arms, and what passed for SECONDS felt like something MUCH LONGER for her as she struggled to get ahold of herself. Thank goodness Delilah was naturally stronger than an average baseline human, otherwise they'd BOTH have fallen over like bowling pins.>>

<< Karen gasped and flailed, as if she were desperately fighting off Christopher. Delilah finally had to hold Karen's arms down, lest she accidently strike HER, or someone else close at hand.>>

“Karen?! Karen?!”

She looked across the infirmary as she yelled.

“We need a doctor over here!”

<< FROST had seen, FELT Christopher too...but not quite the same way as Karen. Still, the spell HAD run it's course, and the ice elemental was now AWAKE and reintigrated with her memories, such as they were. This was the OTHER side of coming back from the siege perilous, and when she finally realized who, what WHERE...she was NOT happy.>>

"You......YOU DID THIS TO ME!"

She screamed at Karen, finally gathering herself to her feet.

"I was FINALLY going to be freed of this FUCKED UP reality and start a NEW life with my family....with my DAUGHTER....and you RIPPED me AWAY from it!"

Without even realizing it, the air around the medical bay began to drop in temperature-- ice crystals instantly forming on the medical equipment. She suspected Karen was the reason why she was here, back in this reality.....ripped away from her only chance at happiness again. She was furious, but also devastated. She wanted answers.

"WHY!"

<< She screamed at Karen, who didn't even even register her at the moment. The doctor couldn't even draw a decent breath at first, it was as though she were having an ASTHMA attack!>>

Valkyrie stood and moved towards Frost, holding her hands up placatingly.

“Hold on there, cupcake, that’s enough. Just calm down. No one here’s going to hurt you.”

:: She looked around at the shocked staff around her all seem to be frozen from fear and not Jasmine's abilities. ::

"She said she needs a GODDAMN Doctor! Hello!?"

:: Vivica clapped her hands at them, jolting them back into reality. ::

<< the staff were visibly shaken, but Alycia stepped forward.>>

Alycia: Her body is reacting to her PANIC from what she saw. She's having an asthma attack like her daughter would if SHE were in panic mode! NURSE, the Victoria Protocol 1, STAT!

<< Alycia helps Delilah to hold and steady Karen as the nurse is jarred by Vivica's clap>>

You'll do...check her out and advise. Double time. Doc?! Are you with me?!

It was a phrase they shared, and inside joke that was also purposeful. If she was at all lucid, she should know that he was there and to answer him...

<< She looked at Michael, he could see the disorientation in her eyes, but just as the Nurse was about to take action, the heart necklace, a charmed family heirloom passed to her by her grammie, that she almost ALWAYS wore around her neck, began to glow. A rushing magick sound is heard, as the heart necklace activates one of her personal defense/protection spells. The "TOUCH" of Christopher from that apparition was warded off, and Karen was FINALLY able to draw a breath, holding on to a hand from Michael and Delilah each.>>

<< Alycia holds her hand out, indicating the nurse to halt>>

Sharon: Great Hera, KAREN! Are you OKAY!?

He....

<< She breathed heavily as she settled more and more with each passing second>>

Karen: He TOUCHED ME. He reacted to me, despite being in Jasmine's memory...and he reached out...and TOUCHED ME, I could feel his hand...on my very HEART. He...he was trying cut off my air supply....stop my HEART.

<< Sharon looked dismayed. She, along with Alycia, Zach, Delilah, Michael and Vivica all saw that frightful last moment with the spell. Despite her being physically powerful as she was...how could she stop something like THAT? This moment was TOO similar to what they had experience at Melrose Place, with Barbas.>>

<< Worse, it seemed only CERTAIN people saw it. Why would that be??>>

Alycia: Get her some water.

<< Delilah helps her to a chair, and Michael stands behind her.>>

Karen: Oh....thank you both.

Alycia: Karen, are you SURE don't need some further medical assistance?

<< The amazon asked with concern>>

Karen: No, Alycia. I am physically stable again. The heart necklace that I wear around my neck is charmed, it activates protection/healing magicks on my person.

<< When it seemed that the doctor was stable, and now that Frost was conscious, with all vital signs quite strong, Alycia sends the present medical staff away, giving them a much needed break. >>

Alycia: What WAS that??

<<Alycia asked ANYONE in general, not realizing that only SOME of them had seen it.>>

Karen: I...don't know what THAT was at the end of the spell. That SHOULDN'T have happened. It was out of "line" with the progression of Jasmine's memory integration. It seemed as if he....IT had a consciousness of it's own, and was REACTING to both of us. Perhaps it was some lingering effect of the Siege...perhaps it was some manifestation of a SHARED anxiety that Jasmine and I both have. But still...it FELT like something was...counteracting my SPELL...

<< THAT was disturbing, for those among them that knew her, knew she was one of earth's most powerful sorceresses in this time. She couldn't afford to ponder it much more, for a conscious, and VERY upset Jasmine demanded an explanation from HER. Of COURSE it didn't feel good to be on the receiving end of her anger like this, but considering who she was...and what this all stemmed from, Karen's skill as a psychotherapist allowed her to weather it, and not take it (TOO) personally.>>

Jasmine....

“Maybe it’s time to cut back on the old magick use there, old timer. Doesn’t look like the ticker can handle it.”

<< Karen's response abruptly halted, as she snapped a withering glare at Ashley.>>

That's 2....little girl

<< The doctor thought as she shot "daggers" at her with her disapproving look. This was her second time being completely obtuse and disrespectful. The third time would NOT be the charm for HER. >>

<< Exhaling once more, Karen stands up>>

Jasmine, I am only responsible for your being conscious, and aware of both who and WHEN you are.

From all accounts, it appears that you were RETURNED here by another power, perhaps the siege perilous itself, but no one in this room, myself included has the power to cause something like this to occurr, nor would I ROB you of a chance at a happier life.

I'm here to help you, and I'm quite certain that I can, but I'll need you to take a moment, and realize that I am not your enemy.

You ARE safe, and among people who wish to help you.

And there are some among us, that you should recognize.

<< Gesturing to Sharon, Alycia, Zach, Delilah, and Vivica. >>

<< Karen would introduce her to the other Birds of Prey soon, but one step at a time. She hoped that Jasmine would respond and deescalate, much like Foxfire or Firebird would have. If Karen could engage her, and get her to address here and now, that would be a very good start.>>

Meanwhile, Across Town....

<< From beneath the ground, on the basement levels of The Hellfire Club, Talisman was already back at work. Her encounter with Shadow Reaver had been an interesting one, and she had make sure to track all of her findings regarding her attack with meticulous detail. She was creating a more diverse portfolio on all of them as she had found a number of records that Diana had maintained were different now, more complex and obscure, and Kelly Shaw was a woman who wanted answers. She needed to know exactly what she was up against, and that meant something Kelly was very good at, experimentation. In fact, she was standing in front one of her crowning achievements at that very moment. >>

<< A stasis tube emanating with a pulsing hypnotic blue energy was attached to a rather large piece of technology that was monitoring the vitals and other information of the young woman inside. Kelly wild blue eyes monitored the information with a devious approval. >>

"She's taken the gene and hormone therapy quite well..her scars from the cell grafts are virtually non-existent, and her body seems to be adapting and adjusting to the new...changes I've created in physiology. The time for her activation is soon upon us..."

<< One of her cybernetic creations, one who's energy source seemed to be the same haunting blue of the stasis tube swirled into the room, asking her to approve a number of changes throughout the basement floors. As she tapped on the touch screen control panel affixed to the creature, she was definitely self satisfied. >>

"I know you don't understand the framework of what I'm about to say, but I always knew there was something right about the worry of men playing god, it's quite obvious that women, do in fact, do it better."

<< A mechanical sliding door opened as she walked through it, out of the lab, and back up to the main floors of the mansion. For a moment an uncomfortable feeling washed over her as she was pulled into another memory of her counterpart, Kelly King. Every now and then, when she wasn't paying attention, or otherwise caught offguard she would pick up certain things about Witchfire, what she was thinking, what she saw or heard or smell. It was like this strange tapestry that was as manic as the woman the memories belonged to. It was clear to Talisman that Witchfire was insane, and not in a colorful and amusing super villain type of way. She was a broken mess with a weak mind and an insatiable desire to feel important or special, something that although she didn't exactly FEEL, she knew logically was a desire the two of them had shared. It appeared that Talisman worked hard to get where she was while Witchfire rested on the prospect of a chosen child. Two very different paths, and yet, one she almost went down herself. As she shook herself of the images flooding her mind, she grabbed the doorway to steady herself. The longer she had been in this timeline, the more clearly the images were and the more painful they were to experience. >>

"The WORLD has forgotten about this woman...why can't I?!"

<< Kelly paused for a moment, turning her head around her shoulder, seeming to speak only in the shadows. >>

"You saw nothing, Domino."

<< Maxine Dupont entered from the shadows, how long she had been watching the woman from afar, nobody knew. >>

Domino: "Just taking a moment to compose yourself, I'm sure..."

[she walked over to Talisman in the somewhat predatory slow moving way she often did]

Domino: "That guest you have in the basement. Are you planning to do the same thing to her that my father did to me?"

<< Kelly knew of Maxine Dupont in her own timeline, however circumstances were beyond different. The only thing she had ever seen of Domino with her own two eyes was a view of the girl in a holding cell in Europe. She was the next test subject after Jessica Marcus. The American Court wanted to grow their connections internationally and they thought this "gift" was the right way to do it. It was a curious thing to see the result of that chose in front of her. She had become the warrior the European Hellfire Club had wanted, only here she had all but destroyed them entirely and brokered a deal with Diana for her life and the safety of Viper. Kelly walked towards the woman, her black heeled boots clicking with an intimidating tone down the wooden floors. >>

"Maxine...I grow tired of your morbid fascination with my work. I will do with my guests exactly as I please. I might also remind you that you have only struck a deal with Diana..one that, like mine, is dependent on the work that each of us produces. So.."

<< Talisman stood face to face with the woman. She may have been a very formidable opponent, but Kelly REFUSED to have her work interrupted this time, but Maxine was not backing down either. >>

Domino: "I stay out of your way, you stay out of mine..."

"Exactly."

Domino: "However, that doesn't mean you can move through here undetected. It's part of my job to "mind the store" while I'm here. If I think you are so much as breathing wrong, I'm going to say something."

"I'll be sure to maintain the feeling of not being worried."

<< Maxine gave a twisted smile before turning around and walking back into the shadows. She was an enigmatic force that was to be sure, and while she had the nose of a bloodhound, Kelly had seen what she was capable of. Understood the agreement between her and Diana. She couldn't wait to see the kind of trouble the girl was going to get into. And being one of the only people left in The Hellfire Mansion who had a deep understanding of the virus coursing through the woman's veins was Kelly, which allowed her to be a bigger asset, so for now, she maintained an icy understanding with Domino. >>

<< She returned to her Chamber of Shadows and closed the doors. One of Kelly's greatest witchborn gifts was the of Omni Sight. Outside of things barred by mystical nature, Kelly could focus her power on and see, allowing her great maneuverability and speed, but allowed her to track others in a way that that was unique and powerful. Casting her mind out as her eyes began to glow white she settled on the events happening in the Infirmary at Charope. She watched Shadow Weaver ignite a powerful spell that would bring "Jasmine" or her astral soul through to this realm, connecting her with her body. A good feat indeed, one that Kelly had not intended on but was curious to see how things would turn out. Perhaps the return of Jasmine would have to end shorter than anticipated. Kelly's eyes returned to their icy blue state as she sat down on her desk, pressing a button on her phone. >>

"Has the new asset arrived?"

Comlink: "She should expected to arrive at any moment."

"When she is finished becoming acquainted with things, I require a private meeting with Heidi Scarborough."

Comlink: "Understood...we will update you with a time."

<< She let go of the button, slinking back into her chair for a moment. Everything that she had worked for in the last few months was beginning to start to creep into the light. There was a deep sense of satisfaction that washed over Kelly in this moment. Things may have been different in this timeline, but she had already accomplished far more than she had while working with Christopher and Adam or even her own Diana. The exact right chemistry of circumstances was upon her, and every decision had to be right. While she felt an impressive amount of pressure baring down her, she felt almost at ease. >>

"Towards darkness, we march...."

Alison: I couldn't speak directly to Ororo's thoughts, but I...WE...perhaps YOU more than any of US, given your unique position of having known Ororo in not one but TWO timelines, AND points of the dark trinity, know her track record, how she operates.

This was true. Ororo never did anything without a reason or in haste. If she was in fact the reason for this group dream, it was because she wanted to show The Six the error of their ways. To show them that if they continued down the path they were on that it would lead to nothing but heartache and even more pain. As Alison continued to talk, she only confirmed what Ava was thinking. If the six were to split up--fracture--turn their backs on each other, it would have devastating consequences.

Alison: You and I....we endured things that neither of us imagined we'd ever face, at the hands of a Mystech far more powerful and reaching than they ever were in this timeline.

Ava looked away from Alison for a moment, remembering the horrific timeline they were subjected to. It was a mutant holocaust, all at the hands of The Justicer--DELILAH. The circumstances may have been different in that timeline, but there was nothing saying Delilah could get to that point in THIS timeline. Maybe not to that extreme, but to the point of completely turning her back on the six, her family, and the life she built. One action on their part led to a rippling effect....maybe Ororo knew this and decided to step in and finally stop the ripple.

Alison: And that entire timeline was defined by the Six falling apart. They didn't heed Ororo's warning, and we haven't always either.

Ava finally looked back at Alison.

"We won't let it get to that point, Alison. We've all made mistakes, but we WON'T let what happened in that timeline happen here."

Ava spoke with conviction, but she was also uncertain as well. Delilah had forgiven Morgan during the dream....she understood why Morgan and Alison did what they did. But it was only a dream. Ororo may have planted the seed, but it was up to Delilah to water it.

Alison: It was never about hurting her. Neither Morgan or I wanted to do that. We just....wanted to SAVE her. We wanted her to LIVE. We loved her...and we didn't want to LOSE HER, but we didn't TRUST HER to even let HER be involved in the descision making process regarding her life. I couldn't understand that then, but after this dream...and the time that I've had here, talking with Hazel, and most recently my brother Cameron, I do NOW.

Ava listened as Alison so passionately spoke about never wanting to hurt Delilah and only doing what she and Morgan thought was best to save her. It brought her back to that moment in the lab after Delilah had given birth....that moment Ava was shut off emotionally from anything that was happening. She was there physically, but she was far from there mentally. Everything around her was like white noise....she heard it, but she didn't care. Shutting her eyes, it was so vivid in her mind now--hearing Morgan, Alison, and Bishop talking about taking Alexia away. Delilah unconscious and unable to fight for her daughter. And when she did wake? Ava was cold. So cold and matter of fact. She just shot Delilah down telling her to suck it up and that her daughter was safe, and what they did was right. Ava shook her head as she closed her eyes, remembering that moment in disgust. She should have never been there to begin with. She wasn't ready to be there. And because of that, she lost a very good friend.

Alison: I'm going to have to do MY part, to heed Ororo's warning, and her urgings, and that involves me speaking to Delilah face to face.

Nodding, Ava agreed.

"I think that's the best thing to do....Delilah needs to hear what you just said to me. She knows you and Morgan would never hurt her intentionally.....She just couldn't hear it before, but...maybe she'll be more willing to hear it now."

Delilah: We need a doctor over here!

Vivica: She said she needs a GODDAMN doctor! Hello!?

Jasmine panted out in anger, watching as Karen gasped for air.

"ANSWER ME!"

She didn't care what state Karen was in. She did this. She brought her back from the siege perlious. She took her away from the life she could of had and brought her back to this miserable shit hole of a timeline.

Valkyrie: Hold on there, cupcake, that’s enough. Just calm down. No one here’s going to hurt you.

"Hurt me?! Are you FUCKING kidding me?! What do you call THIS?!"

Extending her hands out in an exaggerated gesture, referencing the entire fucked up situation they were in. She didn't know who this blonde chick was, but she was about to knock her the fuck out if she didn't get out of her face. Jasmine watched as everyone frantically tried to assist Karen as she was having her asthma attack. Oh for god sakes, the woman can't breath and everyone's flipping the fuck out. But she's standing there naked and just ripped from a goddamn magical gem, and they could give two shits. Yep, she was definitely back.

"Oh for Christ sakes, by all means, take your fucking time and discuss your dreams. I'll just stand here NAKED and wait."

Turning to a doctor who was frozen in fear.

"HELLO! Clothes?!"

She wasn't a modest person, in fact, she could care less who saw her lady bits. But she was pissed and over this shit already. No one was telling her WHAT was going on, WHY she was here, and HOW it happened. They were all singing kumbaya to calm Karen's ass down.

The frantic doctor finally handed Jasmine a hospital gown, to which she snatched out of his hand roughly and pulled on. Groaning in pain, she shut her eyes tightly and pinched the bridge of her nose. Her head felt like she was just hit with a barbed wire baseball bat.

Karen: Jasmine....

[evenly] "What."

Karen: Jasmine, I am only responsible for your being conscious, and aware of both who and WHEN you are. From all accounts, it appears that you were RETURNED here by another power, perhaps the siege perilous itself, but no one in this room, myself included has the power to cause something like this to occurr, nor would I ROB you of a chance at a happier life.

Jasmine sighed out, opening her icy eyes and finally looking over at Karen. The woman looked like a mess....but she also looked sincere. And logically she knew Karen would never hurt her despite Jasmine being the bastard daughter of Christopher.

Karen: You ARE safe, and among people who wish to help you. And there are some among us, that you should recognize.

Glancing over at the group unimpressed, Jasmine looked back at Karen.

"Yeah, I really don't care about them. I just want answers."

Finally her voice became soft, almost pleading.

"What happened? Why....why am I here again?"

She could feel the tears forming in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Shaking her head, she spoke with such aggravation and pain.

[softly to herself] "I was so close. SO close."

Doc started to come around with the help of her charm. But Mike was over this shit. He was over the yelling, the attacks, and he was irritated with Valkyrie's attitude. Doc owed none of them anything and he could see why Isis already told them to kiss her ass if this is who they sent to represent them. All he wanted now was to extract Karen and whoever else was coming and step back a moment, figure this all out once she was SAFE. He sympathized with Jasmine but, if he were being honest, he gave no damns. He kept Maddie up in the air as he continued to listen, holding on to Karen with his off hand. He whispered to his companion.

You need to rest. Can we hit the pause button here?

Charope, LLC - The Infirmary

Karen and Mike popped out of a wormhole, followed by Delilah. Zach, who'd been sitting on an empty gurney checking his work emails on his phone, looked up and offered a welcoming smile. Delilah made the introduction and got Karen up to speed on the situation. Zach could sense Karen's emotional reaction to seeing Jasmine, and knew this would be a tough task for her. He remembered Jasmine as a bitter, headstrong young woman with a knack for creating strife.

He slid off the edge of the gurney and dropped his phone in his pocket, and as Karen moved to Jasmine's right side, with both Mike and Delilah flanking her, Zach approached the other side of the bed, across from and facing them. Karen said that she intended to help Jasmine, and Zach nodded in reply.

"I can help stabilize her emotions, Doctor."

He offered, and he leaned slightly over her and took a hold of Jasmine's hand softly. She was so COLD, he had the urge to break contact, but skin contact amplified his ability. Karen began a spell, and Zach began focus on Frost's faint emotional core.

Anxiety, reluctance at first, then the memories started. There is pain, fear, rage and hatred. Disgust, despair, depression, defiance and defeat. Zach soaks them all up like a sponge. His expression changes as he processes each one, but his breathing is steady and he seems calm, for the most part. Eventually they make it to the Seige, and there is peace.

But then, one out of sequence memory. An apparition of Christopher leaning over Jasmine in exactly the position Zach is standing. There is a spike of fear from Jasmine, who seems to be looking right at Zach. It's echoed by Karen's horrified expression. A disembodied voice threatens Karen. From Zach's point of view, all he can see is a spectral hand that seems to extend from his own shoulder and jam something sharp into Jasmine's chest. She and Karen both scream. Everyone around Jasmine reacts in shock. Mike pulls out a gun, pointing it directly at Zach, who tries to move out of his line of fire so quickly that he loses his balance and falls backwards. anything is better than getting shot.

"WHOA MIKE, PUT THAT AWA--OOF!"

Jasmine awakens so abruptly, she falls out of bed right on top of him, but she springs to her feet quickly and goes on the attack quickly. Zach again looks away from the stark naked and crazy girl. The temperature in the room seemed to drop 30 degrees in the span of thirty seconds.

Delilah: Karen?! Karen?! We need a doctor over here!

Jasmine: You......YOU DID THIS TO ME! I was FINALLY going to be freed of this FUCKED UP reality and start a NEW life with my family....with my DAUGHTER....and you RIPPED me AWAY from it!

So, she hasn't changed at all.....

Zach thought with a hint of exasperation. This was EXACTLY how he remembered her. He now had a first hand look at her history, and he felt bad for all the shit she'd had to endure, he really did, but her tendency to lash out at the people that were trying to HELP her was the main cause of conflict the LAST time she came into their lives.

Ashley: Hold on there, cupcake, that’s enough. Just calm down. No one here’s going to hurt you.

Jasmine: Hurt me?! Are you FUCKING kidding me?! What do you call THIS?!

"THIS is the infirmary. You were brought here to recover after you were found."

Zach gets up, looking around the room to assess the sudden escalation, looking anywhere but Jasmine. Their attempts to calm her aren't working, as her fear, confusion, anger are too much right now. Zach has a feeling if he tries to reach for her and to relieve her emotions, she'll freeze him solid, so he makes no sudden movements.

Vivica: She said she needs a GODDAMN Doctor! Hello!?

Mike: You'll do...check her out and advise. Double time. Doc?! Are you with me?!

Karen seems to be having difficulty breathing, but there are many people attending her. Zach moves between Frost and Karen, staring at Jasmine's feet. If she goes after Karen he'll still be able to react, but he doesn't want her to feel like he's trying ogle her creepily either. It sounds like Karen is coming around too. There is some discussion about what just happened, as everyone recoils from the surprise of it.

Jasmine: Oh for Christ sakes, by all means, take your fucking time and discuss your dreams. I'll just stand here NAKED and wait. [to a nearby staff member, who was just as shocked as they all were] HELLO! Clothes?!

She got a hospital gown. Karen tried to explain about the Seige spitting her back out, but Jasmine seemed to still be struggling with disorientation.

Jasmine: What happened? Why....why am I here again?

"We don't know, Jasmine, but we'd like to help figure it out, if you'll allow it."

Most of her life she'd been at the mercy of others, and it had NOT been a good experience. Jasmine needed a sense of some kind of control in the matter, and Zach tried to give her that.

Jasmine: I was so close. SO close.

She needed a hug desperately, but Zach wasn't about to take any liberties. His compassion was evident, but tempered by caution. Maybe if he knew her better, or maybe if she didn't have a history of acting like a LUNATIC when people tried to help. Mike was still waving his gun around and the level of tension remained high. Zach emanated a sense of calm security, and filled the room with it.

"Let's all take a deep breath and simmer down. Mike, bud, please. [gesturing to Mike's weapon] Jasmine, what do need from us?"

Minerva's Mansion- Executive Study to Stone Garden

Blaze was trying to remind us, even when things were happening about that. But her voice was either drowned out or it assumed (by some) that she was trying to "make it about her" when really she was trying to point out that losing Delilah, and letting the team fracture to the point of no return would be as deadly for us as it was for her native timeline.

Nodding, Ava agreed.

"I think that's the best thing to do....Delilah needs to hear what you just said to me. She knows you and Morgan would never hurt her intentionally.....She just couldn't hear it before, but...maybe she'll be more willing to hear it now."

I hope you're right. That night, as he said goodbye to Alexia and I prepared to take her to Ororo, Maxim thought that Delilah eventually forgive Morgan and myself. It struck me that he said that, and seemed certain of it. My own precognition didn't afford me that certainty, and I don't think Morgan and I stopped to ponder just how bad the emotional fallout would be. But the other thing about that moment with him, when he said that...

:: She paused as she thought about it just now::

...it was probably the first time that he implicitly acknowledged the close friendship that I had with Delilah.

Sometimes its things like that- moments in personal interactions- the interaction I had with him, that are the most telling.

:: sighing as she leans back in her large seat. the curious grandfather clock continues to play it's rhythmic ticking::

I was never afraid to face Delilah. I was afraid of my own anger over what I perceived as her being weak, stupid or insane. :: Alison said this with regret in her tone:: I was afraid of my reflex to revert to old ways after my nervous breakdown. I didn't want to make things WORSE by hurting anyone, and I came so close....several times.

:: Thinking about her interaction with Cameron::

It was easier for me to resort to coldness and even violence, rather than to face my own humanity, or to acknowledge the humanity and needs of Delilah...or my brother.

:: She looks at Ava, she knew the goddess understood THAT struggle from her own history, parts of which were paved in bloodshed and heartache. Alison and Morgan had a bond that would always remain, and would always be unique to them as sister witches, descendants of the same ancestor, and other things that she'd shared with Cameron during their talk on the astral plane. ::

: Persephone herself was predisposed to an ease of interaction, and closeness to Morgan, because her relationship with Darkchilde in the MoE timeline. But one of the most surprising developments in RECENT years, was the bond that Harbinger and Persephone now had. From their first encounter in Darkchilde's timeline, it seemed UNLIKELY that the goddess and the precog would have ever regarded each other as friends, but now they too had a special bond. The understood each other on unspoken levels, and trusted one another implicitly. There was something so much easier about opening up, being honest and even vulnerable with a person who'd had the same, or at least similar experiences::

:: And of course the two also could keep each other HUMBLE with a good round of teasing and ribbing. ;) ::

:: At that moment, the grandfather clock began to sound off, chiming and playing a haunting melody as it struck upon the hour. ::

It's time for lunch in the stone garden.

:: Alison said as she stood up.::

This'll give you a chance to get acquainted with Hazel and Xavier. Later, I'll be taking him back to NYC, to see Oracle. I want you to come with us.

:: As the grandfather clock finished it's temporal melody, the two women exit the executive study and make their way through the mansion and out to the stone garden::

:: the stone garden offered a breathtaking view of the horizon and the sea. The natural melody of the ocean, and the flowing breeze, these were things that most people would pay a fortune to have as an amenity , and Alison was now surrounded by this. Sharing it with good company, as Alison was coming to see, was a bonus.::

:: They now joined Hazel and Xavier as the staff began to lay out a freshly prepared lunch for them, and it was time for some food and fellowship.::

Charope, LLC- Infirmary

Glancing over at the group unimpressed, Jasmine looked back at Karen.

"Yeah, I really don't care about them. I just want answers."

Finally her voice became soft, almost pleading.

"What happened? Why....why am I here again?"

She could feel the tears forming in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Shaking her head, she spoke with such aggravation and pain.

[softly to herself] "I was so close. SO close."

<< Karen, now standing and facing Jasmine, remained as patient and calm as she could. She thought she could approach this with a certain clinical detachment, But there was something smoldering beneath the surface. Everything from just before her emergency session with Haleigh, up to the events of this evening. It was getting to her on a personal level, one that she herself had not acknowledged yet. Surrounded by strangers- some friendly and well meaning, others...well ONE in particular...QUITE the opposite- and even with those she did count as friends, she would rather NOT be faced with this in front of ANY of them. But here they were, watching her as she was trying to handle a matter that was VERY close to home.>>

<< Jasmine was lashing out, and while it was understandable, and she deserved some sympathy, it appeared that she would NOT do much to make this easier for herself OR Karen. The girl was like this before. Morgan had tried to reach out to Jasmine, offer acceptance and support, but got mixed results at best, and at the very end, when Morgan was believed dead, Jasmine chose the siege perilous rather than any other option. Karen struggled with dealing with ALL of Christopher's children OUTSIDE of their own family, and had only recently formed a close bond with Firebird.>>

<< Was she mistaken in thinking she could help Jasmine? Was her anxiety, the nightmares, and the guilt she felt clouding her judgement? She maintained her presentation as best she could, but Michael knew better.>>

holding on to Karen with his off hand. He whispered to his companion.

You need to rest. Can we hit the pause button here?

She needed a hug desperately, but Zach wasn't about to take any liberties. His compassion was evident, but tempered by caution. Maybe if he knew her better, or maybe if she didn't have a history of acting like a LUNATIC when people tried to help. Mike was still waving his gun around and the level of tension remained high. Zach emanated a sense of calm security, and filled the room with it.

"Let's all take a deep breath and simmer down. Mike, bud, please. [gesturing to Mike's weapon] Jasmine, what do you need from us?"

<< As Zach provided timely assistance, Karen squeezed Michael's hand in response, quietly replying...>>

I'm afraid that isn't an option, at the moment. Once I establish some form of calm and trust with her, and get her out of here, away from all these prying eyes...we'll see.

<< Jasmine couldn't be expected to be completely rational, but here, surrounded by total and relative strangers, regardless of their well meaning, the girl felt trapped and cornered. She had wished to start again, fresh, with her sisters alive and all of them happy...and now, due to reasons no one, not even Karen could provide, she was RIGHT BACK where she had decided she LEAST wanted to be. Zach had the right idea. Impress upon her that she was not on trial, that they were here to HELP her, and if she could focus on what she needed, rather than what she THOUGHT they were going to do with/TO her, that would help.>>

<< After a moment, Karen resumed speaking to Jasmine>>

Jasmine, I'm sorry, but I can't answer the "WHY" of your return.

<< Karen could have provided a technical explanation about the gem itself, but Mina, Recall, and even Isis felt that something was wrong, and when dealing with a patient in crisis, the doctor knew it was best to keep it simple. Forge a path that would be easy for the patient to feel safe in traveling.::

All I can address, is your being here, right now.

Outside of the siege perilous, which neither I, nor anyone in this room can do anything about, what is it that you need that I CAN assist you with?

In the interest of privacy and your safety, Delilah and the Birds of Prey brought you here, and I was contacted to assist in reviving you because of our familial history.

I know what happened to you before the siege, before you finally found Morgan and the Six. I know what lead you to chose the siege rather than go on. Your father...and Victor Klein....both of your sisters were presumed dead at the time.

<< Karen spoke not only with sympathy, but a subtle tone that indicated to Jasmine SHE of all people was very aware of what the girl had endured. She knew what Christopher was.>>

I don't know the WHY of your return, but now that you are here, I promise you that you will not be abandoned OR mistreated.

I will provide assistance and support to you however I can.

<< Karen stepped forward, nodding with reassurance to Jasmine, who seemed to be softening >>

Your sisters, Blaze and Morgan, are ALIVE.

Would it help you if I were to take you to see Blaze?

Before we leave, I can provide you with something suitable to wear, anything you like. Then I'll take you with me to see Blaze.

The Infirmary

Karen said:
There are many of us in this room who have experienced unexplainable things, been witness or victim to what should've been "impossible" circumstances...and we've needed help to survive or come back from those things.

Those were haunting words, taking Mina to another place, another time. What had happened to her, no one should have had to go through. Could she have come back from it without Jonathan? Karen Victoria mentioned circumstances not of her making. She knew a little something about that. She also knew about saving yourself when everyone who had cared about you was gone.

Mina stood by while Karen used a spell to try to bring Jasmine Klein’s self back to her body. There was little for Mina to do otherwise, except to be astounded by the amount of sheer wrongness coming off of nearly everyone there. Karen Victoria’s mana was STRONG, but there was something more.

Images of Jasmine’s life flashed before them, in their mind's eyes, ending with her going through the Siege Perilous. Strange that Mina had not seen any of these things when she had touched her. But she noticed something else odd. Save herself, Oracle and Valkyrie, they all had seen something more, something that caused a panic in both doctor and patient.

While a fracas ensued, with people yelling very loudly, Mina casually made her way to stand behind Oracle. She bent down and whispered near Oracle’s ear:

“They saw something we did not. A dire aura surrounds them all.”

The Infirmary

This was all very curious. Sharon and Karen Victoria, a noted professional in her field, both urged everyone present to give the girl the chance and help she needed. Zizi of course wanted to help Jasmine – the girl had been through so much trauma and pain, she clearly needed to be cared for. But then there were Mina, Vivica and Isis, who were convinced something was wrong here. So what did they do?

Karen was at least able to help the girl retain her memories, though at what seemed a high cost to herself and at which Jasmine became extremely agitated. Things became somewhat of a circus, which allowed Mina to be able to whisper to her that they had not all seen the same vision via Karen’s spell. The doctor seemed to be making headway in calming Jasmine down, but Zizi cocked her head as something occurred to her.

“Excuse me? [pointing to herself] Zizi. I know you have things to do but just a quick question: do you mean that you don’t remember anything that happened after you went into the Siege Perilous? Before you showed up here, I mean.”

That was very interesting indeed.

The Infirmary

Karen finally looked like she was able to breathe again. Delilah helped prop her up while Jasmine ranted. Vivid images – memories this time rather than the spell – cam to Delilah’s mind. She was exactly the same. Still that same dukes up, everyone is against me personality. That even when people tried to help, she still lashed out. But after such trauma, who could blame her?

Karen said:

“You just appeared, Jasmine, right in front of me. Out of nowhere.”

Karen said:

Delilah gave Jasmine a warm smile.

“We all will.”

Karen said:
Your sisters, Blaze and Morgan, are ALIVE. Would it help you if I were to take you to see Blaze?

“I can go with you.”

Delilah wasn’t sure if it was to protect Karen, or to help Jasmine, or both. But she was pretty sure neither of them should be alone right now.

Karen: Jasmine, I'm sorry, but I can't answer the "WHY" of your return. All I can address, is your being here, right now.

Great, what good was she is she couldn't tell her the one damn thing she wanted to know.

Karen: Outside of the siege perilous, which neither I, nor anyone in this room can do anything about, what is it that you need that I CAN assist you with?

Jasmine rolled her eyes shut, shaking her head.

"I don't know."

She stated with frustration. This was all extremely overwhelming. Here she was, jolted back to reality, with an audience of people she didn't know just gawking at her.

Karen: In the interest of privacy and your safety, Delilah and the Birds of Prey brought you here, and I was contacted to assist in reviving you because of our familial history.

Delilah: You just appeared, Jasmine, right in front of me. Out of nowhere.

"Birds of Prey? [scoffing] Let me guess? Sharon named the group."

She deadpanned. So that's who these other people were. Wheels, the bitchy blonde, the weird brunette that looked like she had a stick permanently shoved up her ass. But why did THEY care who she was and why she was here? And why did they want to help her?

Karen: I know what happened to you before the siege, before you finally found Morgan and the Six. I know what lead you to chose the siege rather than go on. Your father...and Victor Klein....both of your sisters were presumed dead at the time.

"Can we not? I really don't need to a history lesson Karen. I'm obviously back, for whatever fucking reason. Other than your new group of friends [Birds of Prey], nothings changed."

Karen: I will provide assistance and support to you however I can.

Delilah: We all will.

Dismissively.

"Cool. Yeah, can someone get me a burger or something? Being ripped from one reality to another really makes a girl hungry."

She knew they were trying to be gentle and calming, but she didn't like be coddled, much less handled like a porcelain doll.

Zizi: Excuse me? [pointing to herself] Zizi.

Giving her a nonchalant salute-like hello.

Zizi: I know you have things to do but just a quick question: do you mean that you don’t remember anything that happened after you went into the Siege Perilous? Before you showed up here, I mean.

"Just white light. I heard Morgan and Blaze's voices....everything was warm. Then it wasn't. And I was here."

Karen interjected.

Karen: Your sisters, Blaze and Morgan, are ALIVE.

Jasmine quickly looked over at Karen, her eyes wide with surprise.

"What?! How...I though..."

Karen: Would it help you if I were to take you to see Blaze?

Delilah: I can go with you.

Jasmine looked completely stunned. She had left because they were both dead and there was nothing keeping her in this timeline. Her family was gone and her life had been a nightmare...but now? They were alive?

"...Okay."

Her voice was no longer harsh or demanding. She was just shocked. How long was she in the siege perilous for? It felt like only moments to her, but obviously it had been longer in reality. Her sisters were ALIVE. And she was about to go see them.

Karen: Before we leave, I can provide you with something suitable to wear, anything you like. Then I'll take you with me to see Blaze.

"Yeah...uhm, sounds good."

She stood there, staring blankly ahead while Jasmine threw a temper tantrum. I mean, it’s not like she was back from the dead or something. I mean, she even knew most of these people. There was no reason to throw a hissy fit. Valkyrie was just about ready to use her power to make the chick sit the fuck down, but Karen stepped in to talk her down. Which was kind of a shame, but whatever.

Karen said:

Valkyrie held up her hands.

“Whoa whoa whoa. Let’s analyze this for a minute, shall we?”

She counted on her fingers:

“You don’t know if she’s who she says she is, EVERYONE – including the Wicked Witch of the Lounge Act - thinks something is HORRIBLY wrong about her, she’s going on a RAMPAGE through the infirmary where people are trying to help her – and you want to TAKE her to see someone she could very well be wanting to KILL?”

She shook her head, crossing her arms and staring at Karen.

“Not that I care what happens to those Six jerks, but that seems incredibly stupid to me.”

Delilah gave Jasmine a warm smile.

“We all will.”

<< Karen smiled a bit. Delilah's voice of support and her willingness to be involved meant quite a bit to Karen. Truth be told, she NEEDED extra support right now. Each time she regrouped and collected herself, something or SOMEONE seemed to be there to pull that string to unravel it all again. Beneath her effort at a gentle and patient exterior with Jasmine, the distress and AGITATION were growing. It wasn't merely Jasmine, it was the way this was all happening, in the presence of so many strangers! Those who knew and understood Karen were aware of how important privacy and discretion were to her. >>

<< From Zizi and Mina, she'd likely find understanding and sympathy, from Ashley? Nothing remotely close. That woman's every word, and now here mere presence, was becoming a source of ANGER for the doctor.>>

<< But it wasn't just this situation. It was everything else leading up tothis moment, starting with her anxiety, her nightmares, Haleigh's emergency session and going forward till now.>>

"...Okay."

<< Karen lifts her hand and snaps her fingers, a rushing mystic tone sounds off as Jasmine finds herself clothed in an outfit that suited her personal style and taste. even her hair and personal accents were changed courtesy of this magick makeover, all to suit Frost's self actualization. It was one thing Karen hoped would help her along. >>

“I can go with you.”

Delilah wasn’t sure if it was to protect Karen, or to help Jasmine, or both. But she was pretty sure neither of them should be alone right now.

Thank you, Delilah. I would appreciate that.

<< Michael and Delilah would certainly accompany her. She looked at Sharon and Alycia. They had been present the FIRST time Jasmine had revealed herself to her sister, and the Six. Alycia was vital in helping them to sort through that revelation. Then there was Zach. The doctor's instinct told her that his presence would be needed, for several key reasons- his power as an empathy was one of them. She then looked at Vivica. She knew that if her attempts to truly settle Jasmine and reacclimate her were going to work, she'd have to recreate an environment as similar to the ORIGINAL setting that she could. >>

Sharon, Alycia, Zach, Vivica, if you would....

<< The doctor certainly had no intention of stepping on Oracle's toes, OR being dismissive of her and her teammates, but this WAS a Six family matter, and she wanted to handle it accordingly.>>

Valkyrie held up her hands.

“Whoa whoa whoa. Let’s analyze this for a minute, shall we?”

<< Karen's finely shaped eyebrows lift, as her emerald green eyes widen with shock? and THEN? they narrow...with utter contempt and ANGER.>>

That's 3. THAT'S. IT!

Well, shit! Mike saw that coming a mile away and it still jolted him a bit when the blonde habitual line stepper stepped one time too many. This was counterproductive and right now, the goal was extraction and getting Doc somewhere safe. That does not happen until...

Let her go Doc. I know you are pissed. I know she wrote this check, but I need you to calm down. We are going to go and I want to do it in peace. Let her go Karen. PLEASE. Let's just go with our people and take a minute to regroup.

Mike pulled her closer until she was leaning into him. Until she felt less threatened this would be a mess, and that is not what he wanted. He tucked Maddie away and squeezed her close, speaking into her ear.

Let. Her. Go. And let's go...

Charope - The Infirmary

:: The scene was characteristically chaotic and it was beginning to get out of control. People talking, pulling their weapons, inserting their opinions and then of course there was the always unstable, highly dramatic return of Jasmine Frost, who proved to Vivica very quickly how much she DIDN'T miss the woman. She didn't know her well, but she had heard from both Cameron and Haleigh the way she used to operate. Vivica did see a highlight of herself in the woman. For years, because of her power, she felt overwhelmingly obtuse. Highly emotional, unable to distinguish whether or not she wanted to either be a PART of The Six or if she truly hated them for taking her BROTHER from her. It was this delicate dance, where she often misstepped. Never coming off the way she wanted to, and being so unsure of who she was. So, Vivica was sympathetic. While she wanted nothing to do with Six Matters, Vivica would help a woman who had gone through something as similar to what she had gone through, because a woman like that needs help, help that Vivica had to give herself. She wouldn't let anyone go through something like that alone. And she owed it to Blaze to see it through. ::

"Still, seeing this snowflake rampage around the room and watching what kind of chaos has ensued...BEFORE even being reunited with The Six makes me want to run OUT of this room, towards the farthest bar in the farthest city away from any members of The Six."

:: Still, nothing could be solved unless minds remained calm, which let's face it, in this group was asking a LOT. Thankfully, things seemed to calm down as Karen Victoria was able to somewhat bring the peace so to speak, addressing Jasmine in an even and low, breathy tone, trying to appeal to her. ::

Frost said:

Karen: Would it help you if I were to take you to see Blaze?

"Yeah...uhm, sounds good."

"What? She can't see Blaze! Not NOW!"

:: The idea of Jasmine and Blaze meeting so soon after Jasmine had returned didn't sit well with Vivica. Someone in The Six, maybe...but even then it was clear that just about the only two people suited to meet Jasmine were two people she had all but revealed were not welcome company, Cameron and Haleigh. She WANTED to say something, but the room had just calmed down. Karen wouldn't intentionally lead Karen in harm's way, but there was something obviously different about Karen. Her face was different, she seemed heavy and bogged down by something. She almost looked sick, and Vivica had noticed it before she had cast the spell to bring Jasmine through to her body. What if she wasn't thinking clearly? ::

Valkyrie: "Whoah, whoah, whoah! Let's analyze this for a minute, shall we? You don't know if she's who she says she is, EVERYONE - including the Witch Witch of the Lounge Act - thinks something is HORRIBLY wrong about her. She's going on a RAMPAGE through the infirmary where people are trying to help her - and you want to TAKE her to see someone she could very well be wanting to KILL? Not that I care what happens to those Six jerks, but that seems incredibly stupid to me."

"Thank You Jesus! Okay, maybe not for the EXACT way you said it...but THANK YOU."

:: Despite her delivery, Valkyrie made a very good point, something that Vivica had been thinking as well. It was in these moments that she began to feel herself becoming closer to this team. They were all slowly, some more begrudgingly than others, starting to be on the same page about things, thanks in large part to their diverse backgrounds. ::

:: Vivica was about to speak on Ashley's behalf. ::

Shadow Weaver said:
SILENCE!

<< Shadow Weaver BELLOWED as another more threatening, rushing sound of magick is heard, and she gestures fast and furiously at Valkyrie>>

<<ZAP!!>>

<< The witch PARALYZES Valkryie and SCRAMBLES her powers, rendering her INERT.>>

I have had ENOUGH of your impertinence, you obtuse, rude, DISRESPECTFUL LITTLE GIRL!

<< The doctor RAGES>>

TWO of those "jerks" are MY daughters and several people in this room have deep and abiding BONDS with those people you so rudely refer to as "Jerks". I will have NO MORE of your disrespect, d' you understand!?

I am NOT interested in what you think, OR what you have to say. This girl is under MY protection now, and THIS is a PRIVATE, FAMILY MATTER. YOU INTERFERE AT. YOUR. PERIL!

<< Some among them may have been shocked, but the ones who had seen that last frightful apparition during the spell, THEY knew what Karen was capable of. They saw it during the reading of Cameron's will. The battle against Set. Each of them had seen her in a moment of righteous fury in the past. Mina herself had said earlier that one day Valkyrie would piss off the wrong person- it seemed that moment was NOW. >>

:: Vivica lifted her hands towards Karen in a "calm down" placating kind of manner, though her actions had left a bitter taste in her mouth. She had heard stories of what Karen was capable of, but this seemed highly uncharacteristic of a supposed highly sophisticated, clever woman. Her assumption was definitely proving itself to be right, something was wrong with Karen, which meant she may not be the most rational person right now. Still, she had to try. ::

"Dr. Victoria! Please...calm down! Nobody thinks this isn't a family matter! Everybody just wants to help...even HER."

[flicks her head towards Valkyrie]

"Now, I won't try and give you some deep analysis of her character...because she will no doubt become enraged at my attempts to find a redeemable quality about her...and to be honest that's kind of what I like about her..."

[looking at Valkryie, she gave her one of those looks that said "girl, please, let me handle this!" before shooting back towards Karen]

"Point being...she wouldn't be here if she weren't trusted by people YOU trust. So just, put down the magic and let's take a breather."

Arsenal: "Let her go Doc. I know you are pissed. I know she wrote this check, but I need you to calm down. We are going to go and I want to do it in peace. Let her go Karen. PLEASE. Let's just go with our people and take a minute to regroup."

[Vivica smirked lightly]

"Or yeah...what he said."
