As many of you know i'm a big Law and Order SVU fan. Some of you may have watched the show in the past, some may have not, however I suggest that everyone watches tonights episode.
Tonight's episode "Brave" is based around a woman [Jennifer Love Hewitt] who has been raped 4 times in a course of 15 years by the same man. She had a rape kit done to her but it was never tested. There are hundreds among thousands of untested rape kits all throughout the United States. These kits are literally the evidence needed for cops to find the perpetrator who committed these horrible crimes and put them behind bars, yet they sit in storage rooms completely forgotten about.
This episode has teamed up with Mariska Hargitay's "Joyful Hearts Foundation" [which helps woman who have been the victims of domestic violence, abuse, and rape] to spread awareness of this very serious topic.
SVU airs 9/8c on NBC.
