These are the ACTIVE psychics in the various pages of X books right now.

There's been some noticeable changes in some, and in others the changes were very specific but enough to upgrade their status and relevance majorly.

Professor X -no longer seems to be the standard of "telepath" on earth anymore. Three-In-One represents a level of power and ability that neither he nor White Queen can easily frame let alone overcome. The statue professor X once had as "the strongest mutant mind" on earth was forever changed by the (questionable) development of Cassandra Nova as well as M Day and later Messiah Complex. He was briefly depowered which left the vacuum for "most powerful telepath" wide open with only Three-in-one, White Queen and Marvel Girl III being the most solid candidates for that time.

The White Queen- TOTALLY benefited from the vacuum left by the absence of any competent psychics on any of the teams when she was accepted into the fold. With the exception of Jean who she is no match for, she really came to be seen as a very versatile and powerfull telepath. It's her experience and creative use of her power that saved her in a battle against Marvel Girl III, who even without being "PHOENIX III" outright anymore is still more powerfull than Emma (she herself admitted that).

Marvel Girl III- the daughter of Phoenix II. Even without being Phoenix herself, she's still an omega level mutant with telepathy, telekinesis and the rare "chronoskimming" abililty. She's powerhouse with or without the power of Phoenix at her disposal.

Three-in-One- they've been through alot. Lost two of their own, the revelation of their parentage etc. But the Cuckoos are a major source of psychic power in the X books and indeed MU. They took down Shi'ar telepath Oracle and even managed to breach the psychic defenses of Belasco in Limbo (though they couldnt touch Magik's psi screen).

Karma- another specialized, powerfull psychic who Emma coldly pointed out had "years of wasted potential" to account for. She's definately rose to the challenge. Witness her posess and DECIMATE scores of soldiers from "The Right" movement during 2nd Coming. Her power of psionic posession has become much more fluent and far reaching than her early years and it shows. She can posess multiple targets and strike from vast distances. She's now a very formidable character.

Psylocke- From psycho blasting telepath, to high powered telekinetic able to go toe to toe with Marvel Girl III to now being a high level telepath AND telekinetic. Psylocke is looking alot better now than she has in recent years thanks to Chris Yost. Still a high end telekinetic- the woman has been shown to be able to SHATTER the previously thought to be INDESTRUCTIBLE body of a Nimrod sentinel. Her telepathy has also been returned to her, mainly as utility and defense but still very strong. Enough to the point that she's been shown to one-up Emma who refused to help rehabilitate Dazzler's insane sister Mortis. She also seems to have regained some of the precognition she was once showed to have in her earliest days in print.

Hellion- At first I didnt think much of him, but Julian is FIRE. I was totally won over by him during the Childhood's End story. His firey personality, makes his TK a TRUE force to be reckoned with. He's not on Marvel Girl or Psylocke's level and he suffered a terrible loss (his hands) during the battle against the Nimrods in 2nd coming when he tried to match Psylocke's amazing feat of SHATTERING a Nimrod outright. But of the Grant Morrison crop of mutants, Hellion definately stands out as one of the better creations.

Cypher- wasnt much to look at back in the day, but NOW he's definately one to watch. Following his return from the dead in X-necrosha...his ability changed at its core level/description. In addition to being able to understand any type of communication regardless of orgin or even if its alien/offworld, He can now "read"/perceive just about ANYTHING including actions (such as combat or violence) as LANGUAGE and he can decode/find a way to overcome it in almost EVERY instance. He single handedly defeated the entire New Mutants team until Magik struck him down. He held off heavy hitters like Wolverine as well. He can now also communicate with machines in such a way that allows them to not only RESPOND but he can take command of them. How far can he go? He engaged MASTER MOLD in battle and ultimately overpowered the super sentinel, rewriting its programming and rendering it (and the army of nimrods) INERT in 2nd coming. He's come a LONG way and clearly cant be underestimated.

Legion- a recent run in with Magik & Karma left Legion black and blue. Rehbilitation on Utopia under the watch of Danger & Xavier has made Legion more docile and Danger's use of technology has allowed Legion to organize his personalities/powers by type and category. When under her or Xavier's supervision and guidance, Legion finally can show why he is an omega level threat. Witness his creative ways of destroying the supposedly indestructible nimrods during 2nd coming. He's a good background character to have around on Utopia.

I've always really like Psylocke - just thought she was cool lol

:) did you have a favorite incarnation of her? or you just liked her all around?

i have to admit...i fell off of her in the mid 90s when she became less than 2nd to Jean as a telepath. it was such a downfall from her early days with the x-men when she was the business as a telepath. she was perceived to be capable of going against xavier at one point.

i felt my fandom of her return when she and storm battled the shadow king in 1999 and she regained more of her psi powers back...and was shown to be a more competent telepath rather than simply a "ninja wearing butt floss for a costume who just happened to have a psychic knife".

chris yost really did a great job restoring her as a telepath now and balancing it with her extreme TK abilities.

I mostly regret the crap treatment of Professor X. He went from being the gold standard for all telepaths on the planet to a conflicted and weak individual, a man who is used constantly to show how powerful others are by having them defeat him.

I have actually fallen pretty much out of love with the X-world to be honest. Chaos reigns so much that it is too hard to track and I have become irritated with the idea of buying 5-6 books to keep up.

My favorite is Rachel personally (Marvel Girl III). I LOVE her and always have. She was a wounded child come to a new time who stood toe-to-toe with everyone and anyone (even Galactus).

Honestly I feel that what has become of Professor X is long overdue. If it was a woman, it wouldve happen in short order and she would either be dead, disfigured or permanently depowered.

Cassandra Nova was a horrible development IMO. He's never been quite the same after that but M Day & Messiah Complex all but sealed his fall from grace.

Im worried that now that "war of kings" is over (and sadly Rachel didnt DECIMATE Shi'ar in revenge for what they did to the Grey family- mainly due to Charles & Nightcrawler's interferrence) Marvel Girl III will be horribly handled again. She was one of Chris Claremont's genius creative moments. She's supposed to be returning to Earth and so it remains to be seen how she'll react to all that she missed, including HOPE (whom im still not sure who that girl REALLY is).

Well the Shi'ar have been completely decimated since War of Kings and the Thanos Imperative so bad they that at this point its a vestigial empire, putting them out of their misery would have been mercy.

Hellion grew on me over the course of the New/Young/Academy X-men titles, I grown to really like the little jackass, just wish he would notice how much X-23 likes him.

The Three in One are another great group and since their reveal as creations of the Weapons Plus program nothing has really been done with them. They need some type of push in either of the Uncanny titles and to be in a book not drawn by Greg fucking Land

they got what they deserved. i was done with them after the End of Grey's story. that was another exceptionally CRUEL situation that shouldnt have happened and the shi'ar has been real sloppy ever since Cassandra Nova.

he grew on me during new x-men: childhood's end. im glad sophia (formerly wind dancer ) kicked him to the curb. she got the hell out of dodge JUST IN TIME. his interactions with x-23 when they battled nimrod and later went to rescue Mercury from Kimora were what made me appreciate him more. Im glad he didnt turn out to be another "puppet" to the white queen.

did you see when they started attacking kids on utopia with nightmares after sneaking off the island to rent horror films!? LOL and all of that was out of boredom. that was really bad plot wise and underscores the need for something to be done with them. they're great utility but they can be so much more as Three-in-One. It's too bad they didnt do MORE in 2nd coming.
