The REBORN Identity: 10 Comics Deaths That Didn’t Stick | Newsarama.com

this article mentions the death of the 2nd Robin in Batman comics from the "Death in the family" storyline & w/ the current "Robin" now seemingly confirmed to die sometime this week, that makes it all the more well timed that i found this article.

they of course list Jean Grey...but I maintain (to anyone that brings HER up in this type of discussion) that Jean HERSELF has only died ONCE so far if you go by canon...& to date, she's been dead for 9 years. Yes there's a teen (or rather the "silver age") version from an alternate timeline running around mainstream MU now but I don't think she counts.

This article noticeably doesn't mention Storm, who had (at the time) a shocking, violent & jarring death in late 1989/early 1990...only to be revealed alive 2 years later & the explanation was that the woman that Havok supposedly shot out of the sky was actually a SHIELD life model decoy, while Storm herself had been regressed to childhood & was amnesiac.

There's also Magik...who was regressed to childhood at the end of the Inferno & then died of the legacy virus several years later. She stayed off canvas over 10 years before a clever twist of time & space saw her RETURN in 2005's "House of M" & her PROPER return several years later to mainstream Marvel.

Who else?

Bucky and Jason Todd are both alive, i think the only person left in the never revived list is Uncle Ben

They mention both Jason & Bucky in the article
Surprised Captain A didn't make the list.

But yeah Uncle Ben must be a no-no.

I caught wind of Spidey kicking it, but it seems like he isn't dead, dead just that Octavius has transplanted his consciousness into his body and parkers into his, before the Doc Ock body then croaked and Parkers consciousness is now apparently floating around vowing to take back his own body. Im confused :(

Did Aunt May die during Civil War or just get shot?

Captain America's death was really amazingly done, so I'm surprised as well.

If I recall, Aunt May died of a heart attack before Civil War but then that was retconned away. & then yes, she was shot in civil war b/c of a hit kingpin put out on spiderman but she got the bullet instead.

and then some at Marvel (Joe Q) thought it would be a great idea to have him sell his marriage to Satan in order to save her life...this was actually thought to be a good idea at the time cause a divorce would have been terrible and irredeemable

But also Peter Parker is technically dead

Ah i see, well good to have that clarified.

So another Death that didn't stick (several deaths actually) is Cable, he just can't die, he supposedly dies in regular intervals, only it was some sort of techno organic loophole so he isn't dead, just in the askan'i son future or something.

If there is a death i kinda hope won't stick it's Black Bolt, but short of rewriting history or cloning (the next best thing) i really don't see how it can be done, seeing as how he and Vulcan went out caused a tear in reality (or was it just space)

RIGHT @ Cable! But ppl always say it's JEAN who keeps dying when she herselfy has only died ONCE
Thor also dies in Ragnarok During Avengers Disassembled.

He decides one day to come back, kicks a whole bunch of people's asses, grabs his hammer, and returns from the afterlife. He brought back all of Asgard so in my book he wins.
