The star reportedly wants to celebrate her landmark birthday by posing naked for a men's magazine.

The Believe singer, who turned 60 in May 2006, will strip off on a Hawaiian beach for the steamy photo shoot reports Femalefirst quoting America's In Touch magazine.

A source said: "She looks amazing and wants to capture her physical beauty on film."

Last month, it was reported the legendary singer has turned to acupuncture in an effort to stop the ageing process.

According to sources, the 58-year-old star, who will finish her extended Farewell Tour in Australia next year after over 200 shows, is already feeling the benefits of the treatment.

Biographer Mark Bego said at the time: "She started having it done to eliminate the frown lines.

"It helps to stimulate the skin by bringing blood to the spots where the needles are inserted. The skin looks fresher and feels firmer."


Personal thought: You better DO IT, Cher!! :nod: I love this woman...her "fuck you" attitude is always inspiring and she really is a legend. Farrah Fawcett turned PLAYBOY on it's ear when SHE posed nude on her 50th birthday back in December of 1995 and that issue became THE HIGHEST selling issue of Playboy of all time. She did it again in 1997 when she did "Farrah Fawcett: all of me" a video for playboy about nude body painting, which quickly became the highest selling/requested video product of Playboy..and THIS was when she was 52. I think it's awesome that Cher will be doing this...she's taken great care of her body and if young men like SNOOP DOGG have been trying to "holla" at Cher (as was reported a couple years back) then she's obviously doing SOMETHING right lol!
 
Somehow i don't think ill be too keen to get a glimpse of those photos.
 
i imagine that guys of the younger generation wont appreciate the significance behind this, but I personally wouldnt mind seeing what she does. If Farrah Fawcett could do it and work it out, then why cant Cher? are women who are older NOT sexy? you'd be amazed at whose bodies are in shape even without clothes on lol.

Age isn't really the point of the thing but I'm not sure I can trust a journalist who makes such an obvious mistake. Either way though, hey, go for it Cher. If you're happy doing it then so be it. You pretty much so that much skin with the outfits you're currently wearing on tour anyway!
 
Im not saying older women can't be sexy, but for me almost 60 years old is to old for my tastes, i don't really care how that person looks. ( i don't find Cher attractive, when i see pictures of her i get associations too some kind of porcelain doll)

With that said if Cher wants too have a naked photoshoot who am i to say nay.
Im sure there will be lots of excited cher fans out there. lol
 
I don't get why we're even discussing "sexy" and "not sexy". Photography, especially nude photography, is generally not defined by "sexy" or not. Showing the beauty of the human body, whether it be old, young, or middle-aged is not always an exercise in what can give guys boners. There's a huge difference between aesthetics, which is what photographers want to capture, and "sexy", which is what pornographers want to capture. :shrug:
 
what I think is "SEXY" about it is that Cher is confident to do it. she has this "fuck off" attitude that i (and my mother) have always admired. in an interview to Barbara Walters, she responded with THIS when questioned about the rumored(and true) surgeries she's had: "what i do with my body is my business, if i want to put my tits on my BACK, its no one's business but mine."

sexy isnt merely about what MEN think (half the time they dont even KNOW what sexy is) and i just think that courting controversy (which Cher has often done) is a bold, confident thing and confidence to me is sexy at any age.

the human body is something that is beautifull, but in America, with all the hypocritical crap that comes through the air...is it any wonder that beauty/sexy are often blurred?
 
If Cher does decide to pose nude, what the public will end up seeing is just a photoshopped image of her. They can nip, tuck, and erase away any imperfections. They could give her a third boob if they wanted. So, yes, she could sit there and take these nude photos, but the finished product will hardly be the 'real Cher'.

I'm not a huge fan of Cher, but i'd love for her to put these photos out without retouching. Now THAT would be an in your face move to the public and the industry.
 
That's not always true. Jamie Lee Curtis, for example, has done photoshoots without photoshop or make-up to show what an aging woman looks like.
 
i saw that too, it was in the Marie Claire magazine i think, it was quite bold and i did a double take because i thought "is that jamie lee curtis???" it looked like her...but then it DIDNT. but i remember reading th at article, seeing those photos and she talked about it on television. no one made that big a fuss about it....and really, she did us women who DONT have the benefit of airbrushing and such a big favor because most famous women who do take pics for mags always have an army of hair and make up and of course air brushing etc to make them look PERFECT and Jamie decided to show everyone how a REAL woman looks at her age.... "flaws and all"
 
I saw that as well. I'm not saying it hasn't been done, i'm just saying the odds of someone posing nude without the help of airbrushing is very unlikely. If Cher's ass looks like a 2 year olds, odds are it was airbrushed. ;) LOL

But more power to her, regardless. Anyone who wants to pose nude has a lot more guts than me, that's for sure.
 
it still hasnt been confirmed WHICH magazine Cher is posing for. Playboy has historically (supposedly) looked down on doing photo spreads of women who've had plastic surgery...but how do you explain Pamela Anderson, Anna-Nicole Smith and several others who CLEARLY had plastic surgery (some even at the time or BEFORE their original shoots)?
 
95% of the models in Playboy have had SOME sort of plastic surgery. Look at Hugh Hefners girlfriend, Holly. That girl alone has had more surgery than Cher. LOL
