Another Aaron Spellbing gem. this show ran from 1976 to 1981 and featured a varying cast of three beautifull, intelligent women that worked for an anonymous boss. Arguably the most famous person to emerge from the show was Farrah Fawcett whose looks, and hairstyle of the time inspired a trend that has resurfaced time and again in decades since, she's found critical acclaim as a small screen and broadway actress and is a golden globe winner ( Burning Bed) and two time emmy nominee . Jaclyn Smith, the only original cast member to stay for the shows entire run, has found fame as a TV mini series queen and the founder of Jaclyn Smith fashion line that has been successfull for over 20 years. Kate Jackson , for whom the show was supposed to be a vehicle for departed after 3 seasons and went on to star in another successfull sitcom during the 80's (Scarecrow and Mrs. King) she also has an impressive TV movie portfolio.

Other actresses who became Angels included Cheryl Ladd (farrah's "little sister" on the show) , Shelly Hack (the "charlie" perfume girl) and Tanya Roberts ( that 70's show).

The show remains a pop culture staple and inspired two successfull big screen takes and the remarkable thing is that Charlie's Angels has become associated with feminism and female empowerment yet AT THE TIME the show was originally running, Feminists and other critics DISMISSED IT as "jiggle tv".

Even if you werent around to enjoy it during its original run, it has lived on through syndication and several seasons are now out on DVD.

I used to watch it in re runs with my mom when I was younger, and I know my favorite angel was Kelly

I don't know why I just thought she was so pretty and for whatever reason she reminded me of my mom, so I loved watching a woman who reminded me of my mother.

Same here Brandon. I used to watch reruns with my mom when I was younger, and I always loved Kelly the best. I just thought she was absolutely beautiful. I bought the first season about 3 years ago on DVD, but I have yet to buy any others. I'm still working on them.

well, as you all know, i was named after one of the angels and so naturally i am drawn to Jill Monroe (Farrah Fawcett). I was fortunate enough to be able to remember the series (just a bit) from when it originally aired, but through the years thanks to re-runs and now owning seasons 1 and 2 on DVD i've had the chance to enjoy the show as i grew up.

My favorite episodes always invloved Jill and her little sister Kris Monroe (Cheryl Ladd), who replaced Jill on the show after Farrah left. Farrah came back throughout the series as a guest star.

The final episode of the show was pretty good, although "Charlie" did physically appear in front of the Angels, he was wearing a surgical mask so they still couldnt see his whole face.

I too remember watching this show with my mother who LOVED this show along with Dynasty, Knott's (sp) Landing, etc. My Mom loved having her hair styled like Jill with the feathered style. My Mom favored Jill and I actually adored Kris Monroe. :nod:

This whole thread reminds me of the ADA / MOE, remember when Farrah created the ADA Angels? lol. That was a lot of fun with various angels, we even did the 'angel pose' lol. :raspberry

I think one of my favorite episodes was when Kelly was hypnotized and she thought Jill was her nanny that was mean to her when she was a child. She almost killed herself and Jill by driving off a cliff. lol. I also really liked the classic episode when Jill, Sabrina, and Kelly were all in jail together and escaped chained together.

I dont remember seeing the one episode you were describing about Kelly being hypnotized, but it sounds quite interesting. Jill and Kelly often worked well together. in the episode, "Blue Angels" they fought and took down three armed men (one of the men was played by John Saxxon, who would go on to star as "Nancy Thompson's" father in Nightmare on Elm Street). Kelly dropped a tire down on one of the men while Jill beamed the other in the head with a tire rim she three like a frisbee lol.

the other episode you mentioned is called "Angels in Chains" and that is one of the most popular episodes of the series.

I LOVED the scene where they were strip searched and showered...and after they came out the shower, the female guard (who was rather butch ) walked in front of each of them and sprayed them down with an air hose and after she did Sabrina, Kelly asked: how long has it been since you've been sprayed? and they showed Jill trying her best to stifle her laughter. :haha:


One of my favorite episodes was later in the series when Jill came back as a guest star and seemed to be on the WRONG side of the law this time helping her boyfriend , who was a jewel thief to escape the Angels and the police. It was quite a turn of events.
