<< just a week as past since their mini epic adventure which spanned timelines and spatial boundaries and cemented the fact that gods and goddesses were more than "myths and legends".>>

<< The Six adjust to life back in mainstream New York and within the skyscraping technological jewel known as Illustra but there's one noticeable difference, the 106th floor, which was occupied for so long by Alison Marble is now silent and empty.>>

<< the six must carry on, for life..even without a dear trusted friend by their side...will not stop.>>

<< on this on this gloomy saturday morning, the skies are rather gray and flowing and it's raining hard enough that even on the 107th floor, the rain pelts the windows and provides a soft lulling effect. rain like this makes for good sleeping weather and inspite of all that has happened lately, most of the members of the six have the benefit of getting some rest today. but even as they rest and slumber, some of the smallest inhabitants of the six are awake..and prowling.>>

<< on Nicolas' floor, while the young sleeps the shadows in one corner of his large room lengthen as a pair of blue eyes come into a view and the sleek form of a siamese cat comes into view as Tinkerbell slips in from the shadows.>>

Nicolas gets some visitors.

:: it's a different view for Tinkerbell, the sleek siamese cat who is also the beloved enchanted familiar of Spellbinder. As she appears from the shadows in a corner of Nicolas' apartment, she moves silently and cautiously, looking here and there...her little nose twitching as the detects scents unique to this place. But Tinkerbell is not alone, her little surrogate "sister", the kitten given to Morgan by Haleigh as a peace offering a while back is in tow as well and she is not so silent as her older "sister" for she wears little collar with a tiny bell around her neck.::

:: Tinkerbell prowls along the floor cautiously with the kitten follows along...but not as diligently.::

:: those who have become aquainted with this special resident of Illustra know that many of her actions can have some hidden message or meaning, but like all siamese, she's very bossy and territorial as well. She's known for randomly appearing and exploring other floors and even apartments of those who secretly dwell in the top residential floors of the six.::

:: as she creeps along, she takes time to investigate things like shoes, and the legs of furniture, rubbing against some items so as to "mark" her territory. the kitten however has other ideas as she decides to climb up on Nicolas' bed. she's smaller than tinkerbell and gets lost a bit in the folds and gatherings of the covers on his bed as she makes a game of crawling through the makeshift tunnels...finally she begins the bold task of walking softly across Nicolas' legs up toward his stomach and chest. his breathing makes her a bit nervous as she comes closer to his face...her curiosity prompting her to stare directly at at the sleeping man.::

:: tinkerbell , meanwhile, has made her way to the doorwall that leads out to his balcony even as the rain falls and trails down the glass doors, Tinkerbell sits in a perfect feline pose as her blue eyes look with intent. what does she see?""

:: her tails moves ever so slightly as she looks out and the only thing that is clearly apparent is the memoral to Gustav, Nicolas' adoptive father and Sharon Kelly, the fallen senator of New York who was Gustav's personal friend as well as an ally of the Six. The busts of these two fallen people remain strong and defined even as the rain falls and in the silence of Nicolas' room, Tinkerbell seems to be look at Sharon more so that Gustav...but why?::

:: she turns her head a bit..the pupils of her eyes now narrow slits and continues to stare. but as the curious kittens draws closer and closer to her sleeping target on the bed, Tinkerbell moves up to the glass doors and stands up on her hand legs, wanting to some how open the doors to the balcony. her tail sways a bit as she mews a bit. but the cries of a siamese are not easily overlooked and are sure to wake Nicolas. even as the kitten is now firmly planted on his chest, watching his face up close.::

Limbo

<< even as Nicolas is the first among the Six to receive "unexpected visitors" this dreary day, across space and dimensions, there are OTHERS who must awaken and acclimate to their surroundings as well.>>

<< Limbo, specifically, the spacious, sprawling garden that is Ororo's realm within Limbo. Here all life is nutured and treasured...much like she did on earth when she was worshiped as a Goddess in her native Africa..even BEFORE she became Storm. Now in Limbo, this garden remains an enduring symbol of Ororo's triumph over Belasco and the evil that he sought to corrupt her soul with. The Six have been here many times. It has been a haven and sanctuary for them in times most dire and Ororo has been a strong nuturing, motherly figure to many among that time, helping them where she could and guiding them as best she could.>>

Her garden

:: today is a special day. one that Ororo knew would come but she had not informed the Six, so that they could better focus on the tasks and challenges they had to face over the past month.::

:: in her large stone Citadle that is in the center of the seemingly endless garden, Ororo moves about in the dimly lit apothecary on the top floor of this fortress. she hums a soft song that she remembered her own mother singing to HER as a baby...many moons ago. funny how some things endure...even when you become an immortal "goddess sorceress" in an eldritch realm. ::

:: small enchanted faeries flit about high above near the domed ceiling and outside the carved out windows of the stone wall, the echo of the bubbling, cascading waterfall creates a soft echo inside the citadle.::

:: the elegant woman wears a white dress with a blue robe. her silver hair is long and straight, parted down the middle and flows down to the small of her back. Ororo is a very beautifull older woman and her immortality allows her to remain the picture of bewitching elegance and grace.::

:: she seems to be gathering potions and items designed for refreshment and nurishment and nearby, there is a man's robe made of the most exquistely spun silk, a basket of the freshest fruits picked from the many large trees and grape vines in Ororo's garden is also there. it appears that she could be receiving a guest or taking care of someone...but who?::

:: in the center of the large, circular apothecary a pentagram composed of shimmering green mystic flames is manifested and in the center of that pentagram...a large "egg" shapped formation can be seen, the formation shimmers and glows at various moments and it is quite large...large enough perhaps to contain a human form!::

:: the soft din of the pentagram does not outdo Ororo's own majestic tune as she hums softly and moves with calm ease. she looks over to the "egg" within the pentagram and nods with approval.::

Ororo:the time for you to return is near, young one. you will be ready to face reality as it is, and strong enough to function on your own once more. it has been a while, but you needed this rest, this break from all things mortal and earth bound

:: spoken, with a deeper, motherly tone, the sorceress returns to her task at hand as the "egg" continues to shimmer and glow. someone apparently is about to be reborn and returned to their life as they once knew it. Someone who has been here before but not under the most pleasant circumstances.::

Nicolas' Playpen

For Nicolas it has been a interesting past few days. The team has had to deal with the absence of its tactician and how to pick up their lives as they have moved on.

First, he had the names of the men lost on the isle of Aerie found (by mysterious death public records in the area) and all of their families received special "gifts". These gifts provided them whatever his analysts thought was needed. For some, that was a free college education, for some a family car and a better job for mom. For others it was cash to pay off the mortgage or something else that would put them on the path to success. Whatever it was, his men were to find it and provide it. They were also to check back in one year to see what would additionally needed. Finally, the funeral arrangements for all of them that could be found were taken care of, all anonymously. Nicolas had enough on his conscience to deal in terms of his hand in killing them (two sleepless nights), he did not want to doom their families as well through his actions.

He also exerted control over his holdings, tweaking things as needed (although his advisers had little need of his input, he always managed to do SOME good). He threw himself into things in the hope that he could find a way to center himself that way. The proceedings kept him from doing what he vowed to do: spend time with Morgan. But that was to change. As he went to bed Friday, he vowed that she would see him tomorrow, no matter what.

He was just dreaming of what he could do with her, a smile on his face, when he heard a mewling across the room. His eyes snapped open but he lay still analyzing what was going on. His father had taught him that it was VERY dangerous for one such as himself to have hasty or wasted movements, so he was pleasantly surprised to see Morgan's small kitten perched on his chest. With a low stretching moan he greeted it.

Hello kitty. Decided to scout ahead for mommy today? This <<pointing to the bed>> is Nicolas' bed. Tell her its REAL comfy.I hear your buddy, let's see what's going on.

He gently picks up the kitten as he sits up and steps out of the bed in one fluid motion. He is nude (as he always sleeps) and so he grabs a pair of pajama bottoms laying on a chair and pulls them on as he steps into his main area. He sees Tinkerbell working at the door to the balcony. he steps over to the cat and opens the door.

What's the matter, girl? What's bothering you?

Nicolas history reading included so-called myths, so he was quite well-versed on the extrasensory powers of familiars. He stretched a bit as he entered the balcony...

back in Illustra-107th floor

<< the rain continues to fall, as it hits the glass of Illustra on its many floors, the soft, pitter pat of the rain provides a lulling "white noise" effect. and in Morgan's chamber of dreams, the nude, slumbering sorceress finds this a most welcoming effect.>>

<< despite the pain of "losing" Alison, the last caper the team had been on went relatively well. no casualties and in many ways...several members were given a second chance and Morgan herself was now finally blessed by Hecate and "Sorceress Supreme" of her timeline's earth.>>

<< still, super hero issues not withstanding, Morgan had a grueling schedule as the ceo and signature super model of Illustra. everything from meetings, to workouts to keep her own body in top form and now having to handle Alison's portfolio while still keeping MUM on the exact whereabouts of Ms. Marble had left Morgan VERY tired and this was only a week in!>>

<< this rainy saturday was just the thing she needed...a chance to rest and relax...no cares, no deadlines, no rushing. besides...in the coming days, Illustra would reach FEVER PITCH as they had entered into a lucrative deal to work with MADONNA for a " music and fashion come together to fight breast cancer" concert/gala event to be hosted at the Parthenon, the hotel left to her by Cameron King and the official celebrity and special guests ONLY after party at XS. for Morgan, to be able to work with her idol in a professional capacity was the stuff her DREAMS were made of. She had often hobknobbed with Madonna and other powerfull "gal pals" as pictures around her luxury penthouse would proove...but THIS was a special project for all involved.>>

<< still at this moment, Morgan rested...not entirely aware that her babies, Tinkerbell and the kitten were off prowling through SOMEONE ELSE'S floor and apartment.>>

<< she turned in her sleep, the satin sheets of her bed wrapped around her as she enjoyed her rest, no real schedule for the day...but it would certainly be a good opportunity to visit with other members of the Six..like Nicolas.>>

out on Nicolas balcony

<< the kitten flinched a bit as Nicolas awakened and greeted her, but his gentle demeanor to her despite his looks, allowed her to be a little less fearfull. she was shivering a bit as he carefull picked her up and carried her along. he seemed nice. his hands were soft and he carried her just right so that she didnt have too much pressure on her underbelly.>>

<< her brought her along and found Tinkerbell, who seemed to want to go out onto the balcony. her mewing caused the kitten's ears to turn back a bit as Tinker seemed a little uneasy.>>

<< as Nicolas asked Tinkerbell what was bother her, Tinkerbell hesitated. bobbing her head a bit as she raised up one her front paws and batted at the glass some more before looking up at Nicolas who was standing over her.>>

<< she meowed more directly this time, before letting herself back down on all fours and ran out onto the balcony as well. thankfull it was covered so she did not get wet.>>

<< tinkerbell immediately ran up to Sharon Kelly's memorial and looked up at it intently. once again standing on her hand legs. her tail moving a bit more rapid, indicating that something was bothering her, but why Sharon's image?>>

<< everything looked so large from tinkerbell's point of view and she looked back at Nicolas once more.>>

Illustra- 107th floor

<< a soft chime tone went off, indicating it was time to wake up. Morgan's sleepy, icy violet eyes slowly opened as she slowly sat up and stretched, letting the satin sheets fall from her toned, supple form. she looked around and noticed that tinkerbell and the kitten were not on the bed. perhaps they were already in the kitchen waiting for freshly opened breakfast? typical divas...more like their "mother" than she would admit.>>

<< as she slowly slipped out of her large, circular bed, she went over to her glass doors to her balcony and opened them to let the fresh morning air in. if a few rain drops happened to fall into her chamber of dreams, it wouldnt be of much consequence. she let the air kiss her nude form as she closed her eyes and breathed deeply. thunder rolled softely in the grey skies outside>>

<< reaching for a silk silver gem toned mini robe, Morgan wrapped it around herself as she ran her fingers through her blonde hair and pulled it back and up into a loosely gathered "up" do. still no sign of tinkerbell, who was usually on hand to greet and/or prod her mommy into the kitchen for breakfast. even the kitten was no where in sight.>>

<<sigh>>

<< Morgan was happy to have a day of leisure, especially since the upcominog week promised to be chaotic and euphoric all at once. but still, she could already feel the absence of Alison from Illustra and from the family that lived in the secret residential floors.>>

<< walking along slowly, she passed by a framed picture on the wall, a picture of herself, alison, alycia, diddy and boris kodjoe. it was the not the Parthenon was officially reopened and had announced its merger with Illustra Inc. what a beautifull and EVENTFULL night that had been...for while the festivities went off without a hitch...the gathering was eventually scandalized by the hypersexual machinations of former team member Bane and CRASHED by Alexis Quartermaine aka Shockwave's evil aunt Helena Quartermaine....oh the verbal barbs she and Alison exchanged...PRICELESS!! Morgan laughed softly as she remembered, looking at Alison who wore that eye popping if not headline grabbing black leather Versace dress..a dress that would have made Madonna proud.>>

<< down the main hallway and past several guest rooms, Morgan finally emerged out into the sprawling, multileveled main area of the penthouse. hitting the kitchen first. Tinkerbell and the kitten were not out there!>>

hmmm..

Tink??

<< Morgan called for her familiar, making the clicking noise that often grabbed tinkerbell's attention.>>

where are you baby?

<< she walked around, looking down, sometimes bending down to look behind furniture or under tables...and sometimes looking UP to the installed cat walk the covered the perimeter of the large vaulted ceilings above. still no sign of tink or the kitten.>>

babies??

<< Morgan continued to look moving down one flight of stairs to the living room area, before checking the sunken in sitting room, then on to the main dining room and finally crossing the way...to the foyer and the main double doors.>>

where are you?

<< she looked around, tying her robe up, she wondered if they had gotten out into the hallway of the 107th floor. But Tinkerbell did have a habit of "leaving" and often turning up in other people's apartments. Perhaps she was visiting someone of the Six this morning and the kitten had followed along.>>

another visitor...not so friendly

<< as Morgan looks for her familiar and kitten, the rain outside finally begins to wane. with cool breezes blowing. it will be a mild day but a gray day. a fitting reflection of the mood of some of those in the Six since Alison's departure.>>

<< Nicolas handled Morgan's kitten with gentle care as he opened the doors for Tinkerbell to come out and explore the balcony of his apartment. She seemed drawn to the image of Sharon Kelly but was not communicating in her own "special" way WHY. as the rains began to fall back and cool breeze came through, some birds could be heard...just a few at first but then it seemed there were more in the air. surprising for Nicolas was quite high up in Illustra.>>

<< Tinkerbell continued to show signs of uneasiness as she meowed and raised up on her back legs, reaching her front paw up as much as she could toward the bust of Sharon Kelly.>>

<< curious indeed. even more so when sparrow came charging onto the balcony. the flutter of its wings startling the small kitten in Nicolas arm's. the sudden and rather bold arrival of the sparrow caught Nicolas' attention....as it was now perched on Sharon's bust. was THAT what Tinkerbell was anticipating? but why would she come all the wy to his apartment just for a little bird?>>

<< Tinkerbell seemed more agitated now and even the small kitten hissed. something about that bird was upsetting them.>>

<< finally, in an unbelievable show of bold agression, the sparrow launches from Sharon's bust and charges for the KITTEN!>>

Illustra- Nicolas apartment and the uninvited guest

::Tinkerbell's meows become more agitated and disjointed. a characteristic of siamese when they are agitated or intent on something.::

:: the morning rain , which had been a night storm before, now wanes and the first sound of birds can be heard in the air, more with each passing moment before a sparrow dares to charge onto the balcony.::

::this is unacceptable! who does this twerp of a bird think it is?? not only is this creature natural prey , but it seems to be rather bold and agressive for a sparrow.::

:: Tinkerbell looks at Nicolas, who is holding the kitten and the kitten hisses at the bird. Tinkerbell's tail swishes with agitation as she crouches down, sizing up the bird as she stalks it. her ears back and low...her tail swishes from side to side.::

:: the bird displays the most agressive behavior for a bird of it's size that Nicolas has seen since settling at Illustra as it charges for the kitten and flaps its wings menacingly at Nicolas but as suddenly as it comes, it is taken down by TINKERBELL!::

:: no bird is going to threaten HER territory and true to the form of a siamese, Tinkerbell considers ALL of Illustra to be her personal playground and no one OR any THING will treaten the kitten if SHE has anything to do with it!::

:: with the speed, strength and agility of a cat, she leaps up in perfect arc form intersecting the bird and slamming it down to the ground...playing with it roughly for a bit before finally killing it, growling a bit as she tears into the bird. after making sure its dead, looks up at Nicolas.::

:: the expression on her face suggesting: what? this is what cat's do!::

:: she licks her chops a few times, before picking up and holding the bird in her mouth. her striking blue eyes' pupils are still narrow slits right now and she purrs as she seems to offer the dead bird to Nicolas as a gift. "See? i've killed the bird!::

:: she carries the dead bird back inside of Nicolas' apartment. ::

:: a most strange moment for Nicolas indeed.::

Nicolas' Playpen

As Nicolas stands outside with the two cats, he notices that there are several birds flying about...interesting, because theses are songbirds, notorious for cruising at lower altitudes than they were currently enjoying. One of the sparrows perched on Sharon's bust, which prompted an angry response from the kitten. As he thought of how to gently shoo it away, it charged for the kitten, Nicolas was set to pluck it out of the air when TINKERBELL showed her feline lineage and took it down, looking more like a cheetah than a housecat. As it snapped the bird's neck, it offered its kill to Nicolas, a sign of affection.

That's alright champ. It's all you.

The cat turned and entered his apartment with the bird -- this one would be hard to explain to the cleaning lady-- and Nicolas followed behind, waiting for her to settle. He approached her, hand out, and waited until she decided to cede the fowl to him. He caressed the Siamese, then turned and put the bird in the trash, washing his hands afterwards.

Now ladies, let's go find Mommy.

Walking to the elevator, unconcerned about his level of dress (or undress), he went with the cats to Morgan's penthouse. Smiling, he knocked on the door and waited for her to arrive, with Tinkerbell in one arm and the kitten in the other.

[ Delilah had fallen asleep on the couch, the book she had been reading splayed open across her chest. She had spent the past week mostly alone, grieving the loss of Alison. But there had been something else playing on her mind, something she couldn't quite grasp. Like a dream she couldn't quite remember when she woke.

It had been there, at the back of her brain, since they returned from Greece. And then, as she slept to the cadence of the rain against the windows of the living room, it suddenly came to the forefront. She sat up quickly, knocking the book to the floor. It had been like a dream - or, rather, a nightmare - but she knew that it wasn't. It was a memory, forgotten for a time, but now thrust into her conciousness like a knife.

morningstar said:
[ Delilah spread her fingers wide. Her body began to glow brighter and brighter until she was blinding. She began to rise from the ground, becoming almost like a ray of light floating in the air. Her eyes were solid green now - the whites completely disappeared in the jewel toned color. Her blonde hair flowed around her and looked almost white in its brightness. Her body looked fluid now, and Persephone's whip fell to the ground as she slipped out of its grasp. She looked down at Persephone on the ground, eyes blazing with a ferocity the others would have rarely seen in Delilah. Reaching one arm out, palm facing out in a "stop" motion, she sent a powerful focused ultrasound beam directed at Persephone which could easily liquify living tissue. Throwing the other arm out, fingers pointed out and spread wide, she sent a pressor beam of photon energy out. The two beams intertwined as they made their way to Persephone, hitting her full on with the entire force of Delilah's power. Her voice boomed from her mouth, hardly sounding her own. ]

persephone said:
:: Falling to the floor in a heap, Persephone's leather battle suit was burnt at various places, exposing her bloodied and chared skin. Barely breathing, Persephone knew that her odds for living through the battle were slim to none, but it was ironic that she would fall at the hands of one of her teammates. Persephone's vision began to blur to black before her eyes slowly fell shut. Taking her last breath before her body went limp, Aphrodite had succeeded...Persephone was dead.::

In the commotion following their battle on Olympus and time being rewound, they had never addressed what had happened to them the first time. She wiped a hand across her sweaty forehead. Her racing heart was starting to beat more normally. What had she done? And could Persephone ever forgive her? She needed to do something, make this right.

She got up and went to the phone.

********

An hour later she was standing outside of Persephone's door, two bags from Parea in her hands. She rang the doorbell.

:: Rain pelted against the windows of Persephone's apartment. The only sound that could be heard in the quiet and dark living space. She hadn't made much of an appearence the past couple of days. Her mind sorting through everything that had happened. Cuddled up in bed next to Onyx, her female black panther, Persephone may have had to make some changes in her life, but settling for domesticated animals was not one of them. With Onyx purring loudly, she laided sprawled on her back in a deep slumber. Persephone ran her hand down her chest, smoothing out her soft fur as she watched television. ::

:: The loud chimes of her doorbell began to ring throughout the house, immediately alerting Onyx, and causing her to jump out of bed and prance down the hall and to the door. Persephone, however, wasn't as eager. Flipping the television off, she pushed the black satin sheets from her body and slid herself off of her elevated bed. Wearing black cotton draw string short shorts and a black cotton cami, Persephone made her way down the hall and through the livingroom to the large double doors. A high tech small monitor next to her door showed that it was Delilah, holding a couple of bags. Unlocking the door, Persephone opened it. ::

"Delilah?...What are you doing here?"

:: Tucking a few stray curled locks behind her ear, Onyx poked her head between the door frame and Persephone's thigh, wanting a better look at the guest. Her piercing gold eyes studied Delilah for a moment before she opened her mouth , showing her huge ivory fangs, and hissing. ::

"Onyx, stop."

:: Persephone looked down at her feline friend, her face stern. Persephone sensed that Onyx picked up on her hesitation about Delilah being there. She was simply trying to protect her master. But as soon as Persephone ordered her to stop, she looked up with apologetic eyes and retracted her head back, disappearing into the darkness of the apartment. ::

"I apologize. Her hiss is louder than her bite."

:: Opening the door so Delilah could enter. ::

"Come in."

[ Delilah waited a bit nervously for Persephone to open the door. She smiled, seeing the goddess looking back at her with a puzzled expression. She watched the panther walk away from her. ]

"Nice kitty..."

[ She held up the bags in her hands. ]

"Fancy some Greek food?"

[ She walked past Persephone into the apartment. ]

"I'm sorry for just showing up like this, but I wanted to talk to you."

[ She paused, taking a deep breath. ]

"I wanted to talk about what happened in Greece."

"You must of read my mind. I'll get some plates."

:: Naturally, Greek food was her favorite. Italian and French a close second. Flipping on the lights, the entire room instantly lit up, revealing Persephone's apartment. This was actually the first tim Delilah had been here, if Persephone recalled correctly. The penthouse was decorated with rich, dark woods, ancient Greek insipired art, and black fabrics. It actually looked like a smaller version of a few rooms in Persephone's Castle in the Underworld. ::

:: Walking to the kitchen, she could hear Delilah apologizing for showing up unexpectedly. Grabbing two large black square plates, Persephone shut the cabinet. ::

"Don't worry about it. I just wasn't expecting company today."

:: Walking out of the kitchen, Persephone walked over to the large diningroom table, placing the plates and utensils down. ::

"A lot happened in Greece...anything specific?"

:: Gesturing to a free chair, Onyx came prancing over, sitting right where the food was being placed at, on the table. Anywhere food was, Onyx was. Sometimes Persephone wondered if she owned a pig or a panther. ::

"Would you like anything to drink?"

"Just some water maybe?"

[ She began unpacking the containers of food and setting them out on the table. She looked at the huge cat acting like Tinkerbell, sitting on the table. Delilah gingerly stretched out her hand and patted the panther on it's head. ]

"Well, I sort of wanted to, um, apologize."

[ She lowered her eyes. ]

"For killing you."

Limbo

:: Cameron was sitting in the most beautiful technicolor fields he had ever seen in his life. The wind blew softly through his hair as he took in the bright blue sky. It was peaceful here for him. Peaceful for his mind and spirit. Something he needed. Next to him sat a young boy that instantly identifiable as Cameron in his younger years. The little boy looked up to him and spoke with a tone and wisdom beyond his years.::

Young Cameron: You're healed Cameron. We can both sense it. It's time for you to leave this place...Are you ready?

:: Prophet sat pondering the notion of leaving this paradise. His first thought was to stay forever and bask in the warm sun and perfection of the scenery, but he knew better, he was needed, back in reality. The only hard part was returning. Would things be very different? Would his friends welcome him back with open arms or prosecute him for his dissappearance? Either way, it was something that he was going to have to face, for himself, for the Six, and for Ororo. ::

"I think I am as ready as I will ever be, kid. I've got wounds to mend, people to see, and things to accomplish. Are you ready to take me back to Ororo?"

:: Without a word the child put his tiny hand into Cameron's as they walked along the grass fields, heading into the sunlight. The brightness continued in intensity until he began to hear a peaceful humming. A song. It was Ororo, and as Cameron walked closer to her song, everything faded into white for a fleeting moment. ::

:: The next thing Cameron remembered was waking up on the floor of the apothecary, completely naked, though feeling completely relaxed as if he had just had the best nap of his life. He stood up on his feet which looked like a newborn horse trying to walk for the first time. His vision was blurry but the first thing that faded into view was none other than the heavenly visage of Ororo. ::

"Ororo...I...I'm back..."

:: For the first time in a long time he felt the emotion of his own embarrassment and he softly picked up the silken robe and put it on his body. Instantly after he embraced Ororo into a deep hug, a sign that this was NOT the same, arrogantly bold and stand offish Cameron King that the world used to know. ::

"It is good to see you..."

:: Moving around the table to the side bar, Persephone picked up a pitcher of water and poured it into a glass tumbler. Pouring herself something a bit stronger, she turned around and handed Delilah her water. Her apology came as a bit of a surprise. It wasn't Delilah's fault, she was under Aphrodite's control. But it was still sweet of her to come all the way here and do so. ::

"Aphrodite can be extremely cunning. She manipulated you into killing me, it wasn't your fault."

:: Taking a small swig of her brandy, Persephone sat down where the food was placed and began to help open the containers. ::

"Plus, who am I to judge when I murdered my own mother."

:: Her voice lowered considerbly as she spoke of her mother. It was still a hard concept to grasp that Demeter was now a mortal living on Paradise Island. After thousands of years of living with her death, then suddenly her being alive, would shake up anyone. Scooping some food onto her plate, Persephone coaxed Onyx off the table with a piece of chicken, which she gladly ate up. Picking through her food, Persephone looked over to Delilah with curiosity. ::

"How are you coping with Alison's departure?"

[ Delilah smiled gratefully as Persephone accepted her apology. She winced a little when the goddess mentioned her mother. She suddenly felt very bad for her, and very bad for bringing up the subject at all. She finished chewing the piece of feta she had in her mouth before replying to the question. ]

"I know it shouldn't feel like this. I shouldn't be acting like she's dead. She's not. But it feels like she is. It feels likes she's died and I couldn't save her."

[ She turned her head and looked out the window. ]

"I know I should be happy for her, but I can't."

[ She looked back at Persephone, and changed the subject. ]

"So...should we start calling you Ava now, or what?"

[ She popped an olive into her mouth, and smiled. ]

Haleigh lay quietly, tangled in the bed sheets, half in and half out of them, with her leg casually strewn across a still sleeping Zach. The pitter patter on the windows across the room was as soothing as the sound of Zach's steady breathing, and Haleigh watched him lazily as he began to stir. He was the most peaceful sleeper, and watching him was so calming that Haleigh could just watch him ALL NIGHT, and forget about her worries a while. It was a guilty pleasure though.... as Zach found it slightly disturbing and creepy. As his body gets closer to awareness, Haleigh lays her head on his shoulder, tracing her fingers through his chest hair, feigning innocence as he wakes up. He grabs her wrist softly to stop her, his voice groggy.

"That tickles...."

Haleigh giggles softly. "Sorry... its such a dreary day... I wanted to crawl back into bed with you after I started some paperwork..."

Zach:"Paperwork??? It's Saturday. You're not supposed to do paperwork. You're supposed to laze about and do absolutely nothing remotely professional." He teased, wrapping his arms around her and nuzzling her cheek. Haleigh wrinkled her nose playfully.

"You know what YOU'RE supposed to do? Brush your goddamn teeth 'cause your breath is terribly unpleasant."

Zach gave her the hairy eye. "Well, PRINCESS..... I'm sorry if my breath offended thee.... but you're a CHEATER-- you never sleep... the rest of us mere mortals must deal with this side effect of rest."

Haleigh smiled, wrapping her leg tightly around him and giving him a kiss. "I know... Don't worry, I still like you. You know... I was thinking.... we can almost certainly hold the reception at the Parthenon-- or if we were feeling really bold, even XS... but we should make a decision on the venue for the ceremony itself soon. I've got a bunch of places that I've been looking at.... we should visit them together and pick one."

Zach looked at her for a beat, a soft smile on his face. He nodded, as his stomach growled. Haleigh tensed her body as she heard Echo pad into the carpeted room and leap up onto the bed. The boxer proceded to step ALL OVER the couple, lapping a good morning on Zach's face. The man chuckled softly as he pet the dog lovingly, sitting up in bed and pushing him back out of the way. Haleigh propped herself up on her elbows. It was a strangely domestic and oddly COMFORTING moment.... and with tenderness that would not be expected from her. Zach got up out of the bed and mumbled something about food and grabbing the laptop to look at the chapels websites on his way back.

"I had pancakes... I left some in the microwave for you.... and don't FORGET about your teeth!"

she called after him.... she flopped back into her pillow, as Echo crawled up close to her, badgering for her attention. She scratched behind his ears absentmindedly, as thoughts of Alison crept into her mind. She'd checked on her new Greece residence compulsively over the past week... there was only slight comfort in knowing that Alison WAS alive and well... not being able to sense her presence in the floor above was unsettling and gave the perpetual sensation that someone was missing-- gone... and to Haleigh... is sure seemed like that's what it was. Alison was scarcely a part of their lives now... and the abrupt change made Haleigh feel she'd 'lost' Alison in the last caper.
