Ok, so I'm trying to get the Classics in here... don't blame me if they're not all in here... haha.

So what is your absolute favorite classic holiday movie? For me its definitely "A Christmas Carol".... Any version I'm a true fan of the story at its heart and the wonderful message that it brings. I'm sure the most well-known is the 1935 'classic' that starred Alastir Sims as the greedy Ebenezer Scrooge. Another well known version is the one from 1984 (I think) with the famous George C. Scott as Scrooge. No matter the slight twists and spins put on this tale, it remains one of the best stories evere IMHO.

I chose "A Christmas Carol". when i was a little girl, my mother used to buy me those disney books that came with the tape so you could read along (and there was always this chime when it was time to turn the page lol)..and one of my favorite one of these was "Mickey's Christmas Carol"..disney version of the classic story.

years later i saw "a christmas carol" on tv. it was such a DARK version and i enjoyed it. its one of those stories that's been told and retold and reinvented so many times throughout the years..hell even "MELROSE PLACE" did a clever nod to the story in an X-mas episode (which featured Heather Locklear's "Amanda Woodward" in the "scrooge" role and she was scared straight..at least for the holiday season.)

they even spun it again on VH1's "movies that rocked" featuring Vanessa L. Williams as "Ebony Scrooge" and it revolved around a bitchy r&b diva. the basic t heme of the story was there but it was retold to capture a new type of audience and i liked that.

ULTIMATELY though, the CLASSIC "a christmas carol" is my favorite holiday movie.

Awww, got a cute picture of little Jilly, reading her book then
So many classic Christmas movies, but I have to go with Miracle on 34th Street. I remember growing up as a child I loved Christmas time, and it only seemed fitting if this movie was on, at least for me. I could never tire of this movie, it was so heart warming and sweet. I think it made a lot of children and adults to believe there was a Santa Claus.

I recently saw it the other day and I had to watch it. A lot of it I had forgotten but I always remembered the scene in the court room with the letters.

There are plenty of other classic movies out there, most of them mentioned. And although all of them are good, Miracle on 34th Street holds dear to me even now.

Gotta love 'A Christmas Carol'. It's fun because every show, atleast once, adapts the story into a storyline for their show. General Hospital has done it. :) (you know I had to throw that in lol)
