I have really fallen hard for audiobooks these days. In the last 30 days or so I have completed the "Twilight Series" and the "The Host" by Stephenie Myers, "Buddha" by Karen Armstrong, I'm wrapping up book 5 of 8 of the "Southern Vampire Mysteries" by Charlaine Harris, and then I'm going to re-tackle the entire "Vampire Chronicles" by Anne Rice, I'm certain the whole Vampire theme is going to get old, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations that would help me compile a list that I can prepare when I finish all these books.

Thanks in advance...

Almost certainly I do ;) lol I have several that also feature vampires and some that have vampires in them, but they're not the "central" force of the book.

My all-time favorite book series is called the "Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher. Its about a wizard living in modern day Chicago who works as a professiona P.I. The books have a noir twist to them and the main characer is witty and sarcastic with a dark sense of homor... you'll definitely find them a great read. The first book in the series is called "Storm Front"

One book series that you may like to check out is also written my Charlaine Harris, the "Harper Connelly Series" the first book in it is called "Grave Sight" and she is a psychic of sorts that solves mysteries and more specifically murders :)

Another book series that I enjoy reading that is also BIG on vampires is the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. They are really good, and I honsetly wish they'd make them into movies :-D Just a note though, they are pretty normal for the first few books and then some freaky sex things start to creep in... otherwise they are awesome reads if that doesn't bother you. The first in this series is called "Guilty Pleasures"

Another noir style book is called "The Nightside Series' by Simon R. Green. The book are short, quick reads but they are really good. The first is called "Something from the Nightside."

Additionally by Simon R. Green is a new series out, "Secret Histories Series" the first book in it is called "The Man with the Golden Torc"

Rachel Cain writes a different series of book about people alble to control the eath's "natural" happennings (weather, earthquakes, fires, floods, etc) with the help of the legendary jinn. The first book is called "Ill Wind"

Thats all right off the top of my head... I can read several more series ;) and I can definitely pass them on if you're interested in any of the types of books I listed above.

I just finished "The Film Club" by David Gilmour. He made a deal with his teen son that he could drop out of high school if he agreed to watch 3 movies a week with his father.
