Amy Adams set to play Janis Joplin in new film

-----------------

Bio pics are becoming more & more common place on the big screen, but I'd definitely go see this one. I learned to appreciate Janis Joplin from my mom.

this is so weird i feel like the Janis Joplin biopic has been coming for the last 20 years (this might also because 30 Rock and the joke from there)

I loved "The Rose" with Bette Midler.
It was of course not a biopic and never officially about Janis Joplin but it's fairly obvious where the inspiration come from.

Don't know much about Amy Adams, have no idea if she can pull off a Janis Joplin or not.
Pretty sure I will watch it though.

Amy Adams signed on for the role some time ago, but its been like 10 years of false starts.

I like the idea , but I do wonder if she's a bit "too pretty" to play Janis.

I agree w/ @s_k that "The Rose" was a great film & one can't deny that it was inspired by Janis.

Amy Adams seems too clean cut to play Janis Joplin....But hey, you never know.
