The Prospect Park team has successfully obtained the rights to both shows & their return is going to happen. Many stars from both shows have signed on to reprise their roles. Robin Strasser (Dorian) from OLTL is returning to her role but so far no word on Susan Lucci & if she'll return as Erika Kane.

CBS reports that the Bell family soaps - Y&R and B&B are both doing well w/ INCREASED viewership & they've both been renewed & ABC says there are no plans to cxl General Hospital anytime soon.

It looks like the soap genre is going to make it after all. I still think there's a more creative way to use the SOAPNET channel than to turn it into "Disney Jr."....havent we had ENOUGH of Disney & their CRAPTACULAR programming over the past few years?

Good news for fans of both soaps; bad news for GH fans, as GH will lose one of the best characters it ever had [Todd Manning].

PP says that they will 'share' the characters. I wonder how considering that GH films in SoCal whereas OLTL will be filming in Connecticut. If I were Roger [Todd], Kristen [Starr], or Michael [John], I would not be pleased at the 'prospect' of flying from one coast to the other for filming duties.

Of course, if I were Kristen I'd be pissed. After all, PP has decided to recast the character of Matthew [which has been her real life brother's role since he was a small child].

Michael Easton and Kristin Alderson both signed a 3 year contract with GH, so they don't be going anywhere anytime soon. As for Roger Howarth, I think he only signed a year contract....but his character has been a huge hit on GH [especially his paring with Carly] that I doubt he's going back to OLTL.

Although i'm not a big AMC or OLTL fan, i'm glad that it got picked up by PP for the sheer fact that it's keeping the genre alive. However i'm skeptical about how successful it will be. *shrug*

As much as I want to believe that, this article makes me nervous. :(

Wow, well that's a game changer.

That's bullshit in my opinion. What if the actors don't want to go back to OLTL? Now they're forced to because Prospect Park owns the characters? PP are the people that dropped the ball in the first place a year ago when trying to reboot AMC and OLTL.

Personally I hope this is resolved and ME, RH, and KA stay on GH. They've been fantastic additions.

Yes. Yes they have been fantastic additions! :D

News with regards to AMC's JR:

SoapCentral.com said:
Ryan Bittle has been cast as JR Chandler in All My Children's Internet revival. Bittle previously appeared as Logan on AMC in 2010. JR was last portrayed by Jacob Young.
The exhaustive search for a new JR Chandler is over -- and the actor who landed the role has previously appeared on All My Children.

Ryan Bittle, who appeared in several episodes as Logan in 2010, will take on the role of Dixie Martin and Adam Chandler's son. In a bit of irony (or perhaps fate), All My Children had been using the code name "Logan" during its casting efforts for JR.

News of Bittle's addition to the AMC cast was first reported by Soap Opera Network.

When last seen on-screen, Emmy winner Jacob Young was breathing life into JR. Young joined the show in 2003. While viewers had hoped that Young might reprise the role of JR, the actor is currently under contract at CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful.

Young recently told soapcentral.com that he would have loved to have returned to reprise the role of JR because he'd become very attached to the role.

"Prospect Park did come to me and they said, 'Jacob, obviously you are under contract, but where would we be if we weren't asking you to come over?'" Young explained.

Young also admitted that he'd met with B&B brass to see if there was a way to possibly work on both The Bold and the Beautiful and the All My Children reboot, but "the producer's face pretty much told me his answer." Things could, however, change. "We'll see where we are in six months."

Young also revealed that several of his friends were in the running for the role of JR, and while he declined to mention who those friends were, Young admitted that it would sting less if one of his friends landed the part.

Bittle, meanwhile, joins All My Children with experience in several soapy primetime programs, including Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, 7th Heaven, and Sweet Valley High.

WOW! Todd Wilkins himself! I'm impressed. He will be great in the role. :) Yes, I am a proud Sweet Valley fan.

I hope Jacob Young DOES go back to AMC eventually b/c I CAN'T STAND HIM on B&B. I've always hated the character of Rick Forrester & Jacob definitely does a good job of giving me a reason to hate the character LOL :haha: If he leaves, then Rick is off canvas on B&B & that's one less LOGAN spawn to have to look @ day in & day out.
