Airport Security in MY opinioin has become ABSURD. You can't take ANYTHING hardly on the plane with you, you have to take damn near everything off at the metal detectors and your purse is plowed through like it was being beseiged by a pack of locusts. Soon, we're all going to have to report to airports NAKED just to get on the damn plane.

I don't care if people get upset when i say that airport security has gotten ridiculous and that its almost more appealing to consider DRIVING or taking a TRAIN rather than fly.

"random searches" are a joke too because they most often target people who CLEARLY do not and will not EVER fit the profile of a "suspected terrorist" for example: i remember being at an airport where they actually searched an elderly NUN with extreme scrutiny. THAT is ridiculous.

the TSA to me is a joke. its inefficient, the workers are rude and generally borish with their methods and going to the airport now is even MORE unpleasant than it ever was before.

Well, if they don't do it randomly then you get into the whole racial profiling thing. Personally, I say search people from foreign countries which are known to harbor terrorists that are a threat to the US. That includes "allied" countries like Saudi Arabia. Make it more about nationality than race or religion.

Practically every country has a concentration of what the US consider terrorists. I'd leave out countries with terrorists that don't seem a threat to our national security.

*laughs*
I wear dog tags and have a military id and they still search me with as much fervor as anybody else. WTF?

I have a trip to Seattle, Washington in April to see my best friend, Lisa, and I'm not looking forward to the Airport Security. I'm used to traveling but these new rules and regulations are stepping over the boundary. I understand they are in affect to secure our safety but most of these rules Terrorists could easily side - step.

The 3-1-1 regulation is absurd, I have to agree with Farrah here. Nothing in liquid form is allowed? I wear contacts I need my solution with me at all times lol. The other thing was make-up. Do they comprehend how many women travel with make-up?

I really don't see these new regulations helping the country at all. I think one of the rules is if your boarding a plane your only allowed to purchase a drink like soda or Starbucks from one of the fenders at the airport? How is that safe? The person owning that store could be terrorist lol.

I remember my old Reverend from my old Church was at the airport and they stopped and searched him because he had a pair of nail clippers. LOL! The guy was a sweet 70 something year who wouldn't hurt a fly. I remember being stunned that they pulled him out of line for nail clippers lol. It wasn't a knife or a concealed weapon, although to TSA it is.

Purchased AFTER screening, again, what IF the owner of the shop is a Terrorist? How does this protect anyone? lol

When I traveled down to New York City to see a Broadway play I traveled by bus, they didn't search you. It was actually nice not having the hassle of being subjected to searches.

yeah, the TSA regulations are stupid. Unless your flying on business with limited items, security is just foolish. The truth is the "profile" isn't clear as anyone could be a terrorist. Hell, the majority of Muslims are Asian not Arab, so should all Asians be suspect?

Let us just walk through one x-ray machine as we enter the airport, search unreadable items and call it a day!
