I love love love this show! I enjoyed it more than the Cosby Show. They did a great job with it. And I wanted to BE Whitley lol

[Richard Martin]

Great show, and it started a LOT of careers. Incredible how many people who are still acting today started there.

Marisa Tomei and Jada Pinkett-Smith are two that come to mind easily, but there are others.

And Jasmin Guy (Whitley Gilbert on the show) was awesome!!

Very true. Debbie Allen really gave the show a tremendous makeover after season 1.

Jasmine Guy went on to Melrose Place after A Different World...& WHOO was she awesome there during season 3.

I thought Dwayne was SO fine! :fem: & Kadeem Hardison is STILL sexy to me!

Jasmine Guy & Cree Summer also had several singles that charted on Billboard & Cree Summer was the voice of Penny from Inspector Gadget.

I always wanted Whitley' room lol - and I loved Kadeem Hardison lol

That is refreshing to hear. All of it. I always find myself hoping that another show with a mostly Black cast will give that many young Black and white actors a jumping off platform. I find it strange that a college is not used more often as a sitcom setting.

Saved By the Bell: The College Years KILLED the premise LOL!

some of the ADW cast came together for a semi-"reunion" back in 2006 when Nick @ Nite was airing episodes of A Different World.
