Parthenon - Ava's Penthouse
He was delighted in watching Ava try and gauge what was going on with him. She was obviously intrigued but noticeably less impulsive than she had been last night.
"Mmm. Last Night!"
As he presented her with the delicious breakfast spread she sat down and Simon presented her with her omelette which appeared to be a success. Simon was a man of many talents, a side effect of his ability to effect probability. Usually, Simon was good at everything he consciously gave an effort to. This obviously was a double edged sword because for things like cooking and athletics benefited him and things like constantly trying to avoid a relationship and a genuine connection with somebody like the plague seemed to work a little TOO well.
Ava: "You made all this? Wow...I'm actually impressed."
Simon laughed.
"It's nothing. I'm an only child of insanely rich parents. I was lonely as hell...Spent most of my childhood roaming our estate in Connecticut bothering the staff. The Chefs were the only ones smart enough to put me to work..."
He looked down at himself before looking back up at Ava.
"My sense of propriety tells me it's probably a good idea at LEAST put on some underwear...Excuse me..."
Simon went back down the hall and promptly put on his underwear before returning to the kitchen, grabbing his own omelette and sitting down across from her.
Ava: "Mmmm...this is amazing. [softly laughing] You're just full of surprises."
Simon took a bite of his omelette and swallowed.
"Me? You seemed to be full of surprises last NIGHT....ALL over this hotel I might add..Whatever got into you..."
[leaning in]
"I like it...and hope it keeps up."
Simon grabbed a bit of fruit and added it to his plate.
"And as for your restless sleep, I'll take your lame excuse for drunk DREAMING as your way of saying that you don't want to talk about it...Which is fine...we all have things we'd rather not see the light of day...."
He took a bite of a strawberry as he took a moment to enjoy the view from the window before turning back to Ava.
"I hope you don't mistake all of this for me trying to sweep you off your feet. Rest assured I am the monster you've heard of...I might not even call you again..."
Simon looked at her as he spoke facetiously. He was really enjoying Ava's company and he was trying to keep things light and easy, but he could tell that she was going through something last night, and part of him just wanted to keep the door open, in case she needed him...a thought that was TERRIFYING for him to entertain. His phone buzzed next to him. A Google alert. Simon rolled his eyes.
"Oh God...I don't even WANT to log on today to figure out what has been said and seen...what am I saying? Yes I do...I'm sure I look GREAT in all the photos. Quick bet...do you think the papers still have us as ON or have I already started cheating on you with Vivica Lennox?"
