I wrote a blog on my personal page to express myself. I'd like to share it here. Agree or disagree, this is just my personal writing born from my feelings on what ive been seeing or conversations i've had and what i've been reading and researching. I'm not speaking for anyone but myself and anyone can comment if they like. Yes I am an agressive "debater" but i dont take it PERSONALLY ...even when it comes to Archon <<eyetwitch>> lol!

... so does that mean I'm a candidate to be "dealt with by 2nd ammendment solution?" That's a VERY popular response among GOP/Tea Party people. It's a THINLY vieled implication that violence or even murder/assassination could/will be used as an option to deal with "this socialist leaning gov't" or "to take our country back" etc. that whole "2nd ammendment solution" bit has a faint but distinct echo of "THE FINAL SOLUTION" as crafted by Hitler and his nazi party, mind you, like the GOP/Tea Party/conservative value system in america, they too were driven by an authoritarian outlook and swelled to the ranks with men that posess "social dominance orientation" personality types. This makes for a VERY BAD combination if you happen to be something OTHER than white, male, conservative, christian and hetero.
What does that mean? Here's an example:
The other day I heard the following statement from someone who was euphoric off the Tea Party storming congress in the midterm elections. He said: "we should do to the liberals what hitler did to the jews. Give them ONE LAST CHANCE to renounce liberalism and if they don't send them to the OVENS!"
So is THIS what we can expect now?
Yes, I'm very upset and dismayed right now and its not even because of the mere fact that so many Dems were voted out in this midterm election. To be honest, some of them got what they deserved! They tried playing both sides. They used the wave of success that propelled President Obama into a historic election to get their majority power in congress but then started selling their president out left and right. They were basically being fake and not on their president's team trying to do what was in the best interest of their political career. They threw Nancy Pelosi, the first FEMALE speaker of the house, under the bus so hard and so deep. They tried pandoring to the republicans who had already made it clear THEY wanted to see Obama and his efforts fail AND that their TOP PRIORITY was making Obama a "one term president."
The Dems who lost LOST the election because they were being fake. They didnt do what people elected them to do which was to BE PROGRESSIVE AND GET SHIT DONE. But to be fair, many in the voting public were not being very smart in this election either. People were upset and angry over the economy. That's understandable, but to BLAME it on Obama and his administration? um NOPE. Try W. Bush and his cronies who held power for 8 LONG YEARS and broke our economy, grinding it into the ground. Still, for some reason, people felt like Obama shouldve had all this FIXED and restored in less than two years? VERY foolish and unfounded thinking.
Now then, The Tea Party, these bat shit insane racist, bigoted, sexist, homophobic people primarily composed of white, middle or working class people who choose to be spoon fed their knowledge on issues by Fox (aka FAKE) news & hate mongering pundits like Glen Beck, Bill Orielly etc. They didnt just pop out of thin air. They've been around. Some were apart of the Religious Right movement that started in the late 70s others are apart of racist hate groups like the KKK, aryan nation, oath keepers etc. OTHERS are billionares (white men) like Rupert Murdoch who uses his media empire (Fox News/WallStreet Journal) to push the dangerous extreme right wing agenda 24/7.
SANE people...which I'd even dare say includes some moderate republicans...dismissed the tea party as a flash in the pan moment or a temper tantrum. OTHERS in the GOP allowed themselves to be taken over by the Tea Party and soon the GOP was using the Tea Party as a strategy to try to get back power. They think it worked but they may be in for more than they bargained for.
The REST OF US who are labeled as "liberals" or happen to fall into "UNDESIRABLE" categories such as: BLACK, GAY, FEMALE, LATINO, INTELLECTUAL, PROGRESSIVE or even MODERATE were not as quick to see the DANGER the tea party is either but NOW we do. NOW people are paying attention.
The Tea Party is DANGEROUS. Make no mistake about it and they're taking the GOP along with them on their twisted journey into a nightmare HELL they intend to craft and force ALL of us to live in and those who do not "fall in line" will have to be "Dealt with by a 2nd ammendment solution if necessary."
So WHY am I so upset? WHY am i constantly talking about this? Well let's begin with the most obvious thing. 50+ Tea Party people now occupy seats of power in Congress. They are ALREADY making moves to dismantle health care reform, which they successfully managed to convince MANY people was a " bad thing" to begin with. again, another example of people not bothering to educate themselves but rather being lead by the extreme far right.
I'm also UPSET because the Tea Party is a fucking JOKE in that they claim to be about "limited gov't" which includes reigning in gov't spending. Okay...let's be serious here. If that was the TRUE reason for their rearing their ugly heads, then WHERE were they during the now "nostalgic" days of Reagen who spent BILLIONS of dollars on a failed "Star Wars" program? Where were they when BUSH jr. WIPED OUT our budget surplus and drove us into DEEP debt by the billions via not one but TWO misguided wars? and as for "limited gov't" AGAIN where were they when BUSH jr. was TOTALLY ignoring "checks and balances" , abusing his executive powers and ERODING our civil liberties? Call this shit what it is- The Tea Party has reared its ugly head because they are pissed off a BLACK MAN was elected president.
So they claim to want to "Take OUR country back". WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!? This wasnt YOUR country in the first place. It belonged to the indigenous peoples (Native Americans) whom YOUR ancestors, operating with the same colonial entitlement you've operated with all your lives, lied to, gave them STDs, stole their land and murdered them near to the point of GENOCIDE. So um...no, you cant TAKE BACK what wasnt YOURS to begin with.
They have people like Sarah Palin championing their cause. This woman is a DISGRACE to womankind far and wide. She crows and trumpets the Tea Party, speaking about "the days of the patriots" and "the true days of america" but what she FAILS to realize is that during THOSE TIMES she and the Tea Party romanticize and fetishsize- WOMEN were NOT recognized as citizens in the eyes of the law! They HAD NO RIGHTS. They could not vote, they could not go to college, they couldnt even get a loan in their own name. A woman talking like Sarah Palin does now back THEN would have been BEATEN if not dragged out and burned at the stake LITERALLY back "in the days of the patriots." Moreover, She, Christine O'Donnell, Sharon Angel and all these other tea party women...hell women in GENERAL who support this movement and ultra conservative values dont seem to understand that- trailblazers like the SUFFRAGETTES who endured abuse, pain, harrassment and more to make a new path women couldnt have fathomed before AND LIBERAL movements such as FEMINISM, which open WIDE those paths and ensured they'd FOREVER remain along with making NEW ONES, is what has made THEIR political careers (absurd as they are) even POSSIBLE. These women stomp for a movement that at its ultimate, TRUE core doesnt give a SHIT about the female gender and NEVER recognizes a woman as equal to a MAN. As a feminist myself, THIS is one of the most APPALLING things to me at this time. THese women are working hard to see the Tea Party not only overwhelm the GOP and remake it (which it all but HAS at this point) but then go on to spread its view across the country in a "40 year plan to remake America's gov't, culture, education and value system completely" which among other things includes OVERTURNING Roe v Wade with NO exceptions - not even rape, incest or life of the mother. WOMEN are pushing for this. Do they not know how many women before them had to DIE before the supreme court made that LAND MARK ruling which is one of the cornerstones of Feminism. Even women who ARENT card carrying feminists instinctively value the rights and freedoms they have but apparently many dont seem to realize it wasnt THAT long ago that many of these rights were NOT in existence and if the Tea Party has it's way, more than a FEW of them will be repealed!
The Tea Party wants "limited gov't"- what does that mean? Well the LIBERTARIAN party has a fair, RATIONAL view of that idea which is basically (as i recall it being told to me) let the gov't run national infrastructure, protect people from outside threads as WELL as internal threats (hate crimes etc) but to stay out of people's personal lives. A friend of mine who is Libertarian told this to me and it sounds reasonable. But don't be fooled by the Tea Party's claims to want that. No they want something ELSE. Their idea of "limited gov't" includes such drastic changes as - the elimination of the federal standard of minimal wage (which wouldthen take some people in certain jobs in various states down to a paltry $2+ /hr.)- the tea partier running for governor in W. Virginia matter of factly stated during his campaign that there is no standard of minimal wage needed and that "Americans arent nearly as poor as they claim to be nor do they work hard enough..." - MIND YOU, this is during the worst economic crisis this country has seen since the great depression ; the REPEAL of the 14th ammendment (which would mean blacks and other racial minorities would automatically lose the right to vote and no longer be recognized as legitimate united states citizens) , REPEAL the civil rights act, dismantle hate crimes legislation on a federal level, eliminate the dept. of education and the EPA, and either "Privatize medicare and social security" OR eliminate those programs all together.
They speak of "going back to a time"...and depending on which tea party gathering you ask or which newly elected tea partier in congress you ask that could mean any number of time rollbacks. Rand Paul (the tea partier who won his senate seat in Kentucky) has vowed to spearhead efforts to repeal the civil rights act and "believes the civil rights era was when this country began to go in the wrong direction." He all but endorses the practices of PRE civil rights when black people could legally be kept from voting solely because of race, or holding certain jobs, or living in certain neighborhoods, or run out of other towns altogether when the sun would go down, or be strung up from trees.
Some want things to "revert" to the times when the federal gov't could not interfere with state and local laws and policies. Times like THIS saw such things as Slavery flurish not to mention the Jim crow era and the KKK. A time when blacks “had no rights that the white man was bound to respect,” – this being the official opinion of the Supreme Court before those awful days of "judicial activism", now deemed as intolerable and oppressive by The Tea Party
THey romanticize periods in american history that were bloody, violent, dark and shamefull. times when MANY groups of people (anyone who wasnt white and male really) were subjugated, mistreated, marginalized and murdered. They long for times when when people's attitude toward diversity and minorities was hostile and the concept of equality, personal freedom and civil rights (for anyone OTHER than whites) was "absurd".
"Limited gov't" for the Tea Party would be like opening the flood gates for every racist hate group to surge forward. The KKK once cast its shadow DEEP into local and state gov'ts. That's how it became such a well networked, terrifying entity and the Feds couldnt do anything about it for quite some time. In some cities, the sheriff or chief of police would not even bother to hide that while he posed as a "law enforcement official" by day, he EAGERLY doned his white robes at night and joined in "other" activities, including spilling innocent blood. THAT is what the Tea Party wants. Call it what it is. The want "Limited gov't" because in crucial points in history when minorities such as women and blacks gained their rights, it was because of FEDERAL intervention. Had that not happened, MANY historic moments of progress in the fight for equal rights and freedoms may not have happened at all! THAT is what they want.
The Tea Party has overwhelmed its GOP womb (and with very little resistance might i add) and now like the virus they are, they intend to extend over washington. 50+ of them have already taken root in congress and 2012 could be MUCH worse. If you're black, gay, a woman, latino, jewish, intellectual, progressive, liberal or anything ELSE the core "values" of the Tea Party doesnt consider to be "desireable" in a conservative, authoritarian driven society...you should be concerned. I am...and I'm UPSET.
I'm UPSET because not enough people took the danger of the tea party seriously. Not enough people exercised their right to VOTE. Women and Blacks should ESPECIALLY be ashamed...each of those groups had forerunners who sacrified everything up to and including their LIVES so that women and blacks could VOTE and that vote COUNT and yet blacks (along with latinos) had a VERY low turnout this election with women not faring that much better. ONE small consolation for me is that wacko tea party candidates like Sharon Angel and Christine O'Donnell did NOT sweep women up with their misguided rhetoric like the Tea Party organizes were hoping.
I'm UPSET because if those of us who are SANE (and that would include progressives, liberals and MODERATES even the republican moderates who are about to become an endangered species ) did not do our job to STOP these dangerous wack jobs from taking further root in our gov't and NOW have 2 years to try to do damage and INCREASE their power to do so in 2012.
Ultimately, what UPSETS ME the most though, is that WOMEN (since i'm one of those) are giving their all to this cause that would sooner see them BACK in pilgrim dresses tending the home and hearth with no voice, no rights and no ability to live without the approval of a man.
I'm not a "Democrat" I'm a LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE FEMINIST who thinks for herself! I believe in EQUAL RIGHTS AND PROTECTION FOR EVERYBODY (including the gays) and an EQUAL playing field in society. I guess that means that I may become a candidate to be "Dealt with by a 2nd ammendment solution..." and to my fellow women, mark my words... the Tea Party is not your friend. At their core, their "value system" by its very definition gives NO PLACE to the "radical" idea that YOU, a woman could EVER be equal to a Man. Think about that! REMEMBER that when you see them succeed in taking away the rights YOUR forerunners DIED securing for you!
