Now, I can't say too much about the actual show b/c I didn't watch it. BUT I have read alot of reactions & "news" articles about it.
Apparently a HIGH POINT in the evening came from MILEY CYRUS!? who won the coveted "video of the year" aware (i dont care for her, but she beat out BEYTACKY so GO MILEY LOL! :haha: ) & she sent her date, Jesse up to the stage to accept the award on her behalf. Jesse is a homeless youth & Miley used this as an opporunity to highlight the plight of the homeless & an L.A. based organization,
My Friend’s Place , that aids them in creating self sustaining lives.
Miley said she was inspired by a move Marlon Brando made @ the 1973 Oscars when he sent a woman named Sacheen Littlefeather to accept his Academy Award. She gave a speech that lambasted the film industry’s treatment of Native Americans.
I must say, that was very kind & mature of Miley. It's nice to see she does have some sense of the world around her.
Some NOT so classy moments apparently were: Nicki Minaj's alleged "wardrobe malfunction" & Beyonce's "excessive" (by some reports) show closing number.
