& once again, the police overstep. How is kissing your man a "lewd act"? oh i guess b/c she's black & he's white, & there's NO WAY a black woman could have a [very fine
] white boyfriend? they immediately assumed she was a prostitute & he was a john!
One thing though about this article, they report Brian Lucas as her boyfriend, but I read somewhere else that he was her husband. Her wikipedia entry states that they are in an "open relationship." the article also says she was "arguing" w/ police. She had every right to refuse to show them her ID.
Either way, who were they hurting? nobody. The police clearly had nothing better to do & I hope that Ms. Watts uses her celebrity to shine a BRIGHT LIGHT on police misconduct & sues the hell out of them. Her boyfriend (or husband) should also be vocal about this. Only when more people who are NOT victims of police harrassment & brutality start speaking out will the complaints gain more weight & something might actually be done.
