I have been thinking alot about it lately...this whole Super-Human Registration Act...after reading the latest New Avengers (In which Jessica Jones, still reeling from the horrific Hood invasion in New Avengers Annual #2, takes little Danielle and registers with the Government...even though she doesn't have powers anymore...but the Baby might...and might also be a Skrull!!!) and I wonder...could anyone here...if you had super-powers and the Government was attempting to force this Act down our throats...could you actually be willing to reveal your identity to the world and thus open the floodgates for EVERY enemy you have ever faced to come knocking on your doorstep or onto the doorsteps of your other family members?

If all of this was real I just don't think that I could ever bring myself to...to actually let the world know my identity! I mean...sure the benefits are wonderful but let's face the real facts...those benefits are bribes to keep you enthusiastic about the whole ordeal when you know it is wrong, they are designed to keep you from turning and if you do turn then Iron Man does everything in his power to ruin your life as best he can because in his mind this is just all one big High School Drama where he is the superior bully and the real super-powered individuals are being held under his thumb because of fear. That's terrorism and not the bomb strapped to a guy's chest terrorism...this is psychological terrorism...the kind that screw's with your mind until you either conform to Iron Man's will or you strike out on your own.

Personally? I would tell Iron Man to #$%@ off and probably either make way for the UK, Japan...or if it were possible Outer Space. Maybe join up with the Shi'ar or just say "Screw it! I am gonna go talk with Ultron and apply to be a Phalanx Select and see if he will take me." Because there is no way...on this Earth or any other that I would ever in my life join with that pompus bastard Iron Man and this false Initiative of his. What do you all think? What would you all do if you had a choice between A: Registering with the Government or B: Tell Iron Man to go #$%@ off and then do whatever the hell you want as a free, super-powered individual who is not bound by the laws of a corrupt Government and a greedy, moronic, evil Playboy with a set of useless armor that can be easily damaged (if you know where to hit.) I await your responses...eagerly.

I guess under the boundaries of the law i would have to. In the Marvel universe most people view superhumans with a combination of admiration and fear. All it takes is one good leader with a few bad ideas to turn things into "Days of Future Past" with me, you and anyone else being hunted down put into concentration camps or worse. Besides the foundation of western government is the exchange of certain rights and privileges to a ruling body in exchange for protection and safety. If you were some average no powers ordinary person in a world with people that have the power to shoot lightning or hurl buildings acting without consent or even a care of those around them its a world of nuts belittling human achievement to nothing (like DC's Kingdom Come) The SHRA is an issue of damned if you do or damned if you don't going through with the act is just the less of 2 evils. If i had to chose its registration, if anything to provide protection for my family, friends, girlfriend (how many problems could be solved or friends saved if DareDevil or Spider-man had police protection/federal aid/access to government resources) and to relieve the fears of the public.

first its registration, next its branding or implanting a "chip" of some kind....then, inevitably the ones who are foolish enough to trust the government like that will find themselves rounded up after some "justifiable concern" arises.

the idea behind the registration is not original. we saw it in through the 80's in the X books with the mutant registration act which lead to the "mutant control" act and the days of future past timeline.

we live in an age where privacy is being slowly eroded in the name of "security". there are cameras everywhere , phone taps (courtesy of that bogus law presented by bush and his cronies) an increasingly invasive security search at airports etc....and civil liberties are being infringed upon as well.

i've always said that anyone who blindly trusts the government and lets it lead them by the nose is doomed to be fucked and you can see that in the events surrounding civil war too.

let's not forget that when the sentinels were unleashed, they attacked and killed many of the metahumans OUTSIDE of mutants that are now "Registered". i would have thought some people like Ms. Marvel would be SMARTER than to allow herself to register, but i would expect a whiney idiot like Jessica Jones to do something like this (i've always hated her).

Iron Man is a puppet man. he'd do ANYTHING to repair his standing with the gov't and the international scene following his behavior in Disassembled. Reed Richards is an asshole so i'm NOT suprised that he's for the registration too...but like Invisible Woman, Storm and many others...I would NOT register and i would QUICKLY "go underground" and join those who are against the act.

You know...I just thought of something...this whole Registration thing almost resembles the plot of Star Wars Episode III and looks as if it is sowing the seeds of a future once seen in Avengers Forever. I mean imagine it...a major political change just happens all of the sudden and then everyone is being forced to reveal themselves to the world and thus who aren't are being hunted down, and then are being captured or killed by those who they once called friends. Tony Stark has gone over to the Dark Side and is using coerscion to force people to think his way. Now...in Avengers Forever one possible future stated that at some point in one Universe the Avengers went from a simple team of super-heroes into an army of Super-Powered Soldiers serving the whims of an evil Terran Galactic Empire which sought to subjegate all non-human races and any who were deemed different by Human Society.

Those bastards, Quesada and Bendis, have been setting the mainstream Marvel Universe up...to become the Corrupt Terran Galactic Empire that was seen in Avengers Forever #1, #8, and #10. It all makes perfect sense now...people don't want Super-Heroes to be accountable for their actions...IRON MAN wants to create a tyrannical, racist Intergalactic Empire with him as its supreme ruler and then conquer the entire Marvel Universe (considering how WEAK everyone else is currently thanks to Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, The Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire...so on and so forth.)

Bendis and Quesada...are actually going to turn Marvel Earth...into the horrifying, corrupt Empire that several Time-Displaced Avengers fought to keep from happening! But instead Janet and Hank Pym who were a part of that team are just helping their world down into that path of corruption! Everyone who joins the Initiative is helping to fuel Tony Stark's dream of building The Terran Galactic Empire and The Avengers Galactic Battalion!!

You all want proof? Here...check this out: http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/earthavengersgalbat.htm

This tells you everything about the Empire, the Guardians of the Galaxy's rebellion against The Empire, the Avengers Forever crew's encounter with the Empire (where they were thought to actually be that Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy thanks to a set of images placed over them.) Think about everything I have said you guys...The Registration Act is only the first step towards the rise of the Terran Galactic Empire.

Bendis and Quesada tricked us!! THEY TRICKED US!! Why would anyone want to turn something like Marvel Earth into the horrible, racist, genocide-loving Empire of Monsters?!

the SHRA is different from the Mutant Registration Act. The MRA meant anyone with an enhanced genetic structure had to be registered to the government. The SHRA means that anyone that wants to be a superhero or fights crime in a mask must register. If you have superpowers as long as you don't make a costume and jump out windows its all good but once you start fighting crime its registration or a visit from the Thunderbolts. It wasn't Iron man that stopped Captain America it was the average people they he was "protecting" that tackled him and took him down when his little war started destroying them. Whats the point of being a superhero when the public wants you gone more than any supervillain.
BTW Iron Man involvement wasn't to repair any political standings. It was to protect his friends from nutcases in the government or public outcry calling for their public hangings. He keep the superhuman IDs to himself away from guys like Henry Gyrich who would do god knows what, Hydra operatives in the Commission for Superhuman Activities.

LOL! Iron Man was trying to PROTECT his friends? so hiring psychotic criminals to be "enforcers" is a way to do that? give me a break.

Iron Man has always been the worst kind of hypocrate. He blasted Ms. Marvel for her drinking problem when he is LEGENDARY for his ( i was so glad she stormed his office and KICKED HIS ASS) ; He's always been an ego maniac...and he doesnt even have any REAL powers. and yet, he's setting the tone for people who do? there's no way i'd "fall in line" with that.

Like i said, I'd go underground, or to another country or hell if i had the powers i WANTED, i'd simply teleport to LIMBO where I ruled! :D

LOL well yeah if you can just leave that makes thing exponentially easier.
IF the alternative is Mass Death for everyone with options spiraling downward from there yes the Thunderbolts are a much more viable option. Besides its been stated since the SHRA came around super-crime has been at an all time low.

Let me just ask you if you lived in a world with superpowered humans and you had no powers would you still be anti-registration?

And Tony had powers for a while since the extremis arc in his own book. Hes currently one of the heaviest non-cosmic hitters on earth.
Oh and btw Ms. Marvel may have blasted Tony but who takes orders from Who? ;)

well, i started off by saying that as for MYSELF, in the times which we live, I am against the idea because we live in a world where we're supposed to be OKAY with losing more and more of the "right to privacy" in the name of security. we're supposed to be OKAY with surrendering more of our personal and civil liberties which means we're then forced to trust the government or "the powers that be" more and more....and that's not the kind of person i am. I'm NOT okay with it.

I think the shit we have to go through at the airport now is ridiculous. SOON they're oging to be asking women to pull up their damn skirts and men to unzip their pants "in the name of security"

If i lived in a world with super humans and i myself had no powers? my honest answer is that i'd be too busy trying to find a way to AQUIRE my own set of powers ala' Julia Carpenter - Spider Woman II/Arachne (via Valeria Cooper's super agent program ) for example. I'd be too busy trying to get power to be worried about other people LOL

If i had to choose a world where whatever little 20something gains superpowers and sews a masking thinking they can control the world normal people would be freaked. Someone without powers wouldn't be in control of their life not in a world where Hulk comes rampaging through your neighborhood, the Avengers are battling AIM down the street or some nuts in a school are training themselves and students to be a militia. My point is that in a world of insanity Normal people like you or me can't live without being caught in a struggle we wouldn't be able to determine for ourselves. If it means the government over some nameless, faceless, Gods that walk the earth in never ending titan battles I got to make the chose that means a safer world for regular people. In this case it means the SHRA.

BTW powers are a crap shoot at best, you'll either gain powers or a violent death if you're lucky.
