beginning with #600, Wonder Woman went under another massive overhaul. Her appearence alone generated significant media attention and now the MAC make up line featuring WW is a huge success AND there's a WW TV remake on the way.

Im not really sold on the comic reboot. I mean...it was DECADES and a near cancellation (twice) before George Perez and Karen Berger rebooted her in what is widely seen as the most successfull attempt in quite sometime. Sadly GP and KB's run over WW was far too short (5 years) but that era gave WW the solid standing and popularity she needed to return to status as one of DC's BIG THREE after several ill fated reboots Pre Crisis.

John Byrne....he made me think he'd gone SENILE with what he did to Wonder Woman after GP up to and including her death and return as "Diana, Goddess of Truth"...again she went from being grand from almost being cancelled. This is the same man who was 1/2 the Dark Phoenix Saga in Marvel not even 20 years earlier mind you :tomato:

I was hard pressed to follow her after that. Writers and artists that followed either made her look like a borderline steroid/lesbian/she beast or turning her into a savage, wreckless man hater and wrecked her standing among DC's superhero community.

Now...i think they're running the risk of once again making her too confusing to keep any loyal readers with this whole "no memory of her previous incarnation while more than half a dozen jla members remember that incarnation" etc.

its sad to me because for a while, the WW was simply epic.

Anybody following her closely NOW?

After the Gail Simone run which was really fun J Michael Straczynski took over the title and i got to say he really didn't do much with his reboot and now with his quitting both of his monthlies (Wonder Woman and Superman) both of his year long storylines are being wrapped up by new authors. At this point the only good thing to come out of this story is WW's new costume which once they made a few changes to it is actually a nice alternate look for her http://i.imgur.com/pzFXi.jpg

Wonder Woman is like any title that goes on for a while, like Superman and Batman she has her highs and her low points. The next author that comes on the title might be either so its just a waiting game until you find something you like.

John Byrne LMAO that's one of those names you never really hear about that much any more. Hes become one of those writers that have let their names turn into a bit of a joke now. Him, Jeph Loeb (who hasn't been the same since his son passed), Chris Claremont (depending on who you talk to) and Frank Miller all used to be huge but now alot of people are finding their names something to avoid

LOL I just picked up issue #600. And wow that variant cover gave WW big boobs lol

Not sure what I think about having all the other women in the verse be starstruck by Diana, though, that was kind of odd. The cat story was cute lol, but weird. Does WW always speak like she's clueless about the real world? It's been a while but I didn't remember that.

I'm really liking the final (real) storyline though. The modernizing of the mythology is very interesting :)

in several incarnations pre-crisis, WW was shown to be either very savvy about partiarch's world, very snobby and aloof or at times a bit dense and flightly. post crisis and during perez's run, WW was definately a "fish out of water" in man's world as far as the language and certain specific things, but she was far from clueless. under julia's guidance, she adapted quickly.

i liked the cat story too ^_^ i liked the appearence of so many other women in DC universe and it was nice to see some guest work from GP as well.

I'm so glad the "reboot" was nothing more than a storyline. Since JMS ended up leaving the book before the storyline could be finished by him, everything should return to status quo by the end of the year I'm guessing. The tv show pilot hopefully won't get picked up. DC/WB have already planned to include her in the Justice League movie(s) and have pretty much implied that they didn't have much faith in the tv project.
