Why House Republicans are rushing to slash NPR funding
proxy.php

By Gail Russell Chaddock Gail Russell Chaddock – Wed Mar 16, 10:17 pm ET

Washington – House GOP leaders are rushing a vote to ban all federal funding for NPR in an effort to reforge party unity a day after it splintered badly.

Fifty-four conservatives defected Tuesday to vote against a spending bill that would forestall a government shutdown for three weeks that they felt didn't go far enough to cut spending. But there is little chance of House Republican leaders losing votes in its bid to kill funding for NPR – the third such vote in weeks. The issue has been a rallying point among conservatives for decades.

This is an op ed rather than an actual news article, that's why i put it here. My question is...why isnt NPR RIGHTING BACK! programming like PBS, which gave generations shows like Sesame Street comes from NPR. And so fucking what if Shillar called the Tea Party "seriously racist", THEY ARE!:tomato: So is the GOP

GOP congressional candidate Jack Davis said:
Latino farmworkers be deported -- and African-Americans from the inner city be bused to farm country to pick the crops.

the quote above is not from this article, but from another i just read. I shared it to illustrate how fucked up the republican party is. meanwhile...how pathetic is it that they (reportedly) are once again using NPR as a rallying point to try to unify themselves after letting the Tea Party dominate them. They will preserve funding for the white trash spectacle known as NASCAR but kill funding for educational and informative programming like PBS?
