I didnt watch ALL of the VMAs & i dont remember seeing him, I've never even heard of him until today & now I happen upon this. I'm not a fan of Perez Hilton. I think he's a shit starter but sometimes he has some great postings (like that naked picture of Shemar Moore from a few years back.... :fem

so again, I've never heard of this guy BUT i've heard/seen plenty of these kids today use "gay" verb or catch all putdown. & he's definitely right when he says kids today dont think about shit. evidently they can't articulate well either

i'm not gay & yet I find it SO ANNOYING to hear ppl say "that's so gay"...seriously, wtf is that supposed to mean? :tomato: so if we substitute gay w/ "black" or "christian" or what not...then what? ppl will say whatever they want, as is their right. but by no means does that make it any less stupid or unfeeling. << smh>>

again i say the most aware statement he made in that rambling was "kids don't think about shit[these days]" :rolleyes2: & neither do the adults.

I fully admit to sometimes slipping and saying "that's gay", but i'm in no way shape or form homophobic. Complete opposite, I have many gay friends and fully support the gay community and gay rights. So I can see where he's coming from, but at the same time, I know that by saying "that's gay" it is making it a form of insult. Just like "that's retarded" or "he/she's retarded". You might not mean anything by it, but obviously it would be extremely insulting for someone who is mentally disable or is a family member or someone who is.

So I definitely make a conscious effort not to say it, however sometimes it just slips out of habit.
