As some of you know, I don't celebrate "Thanksgiving". I think its a travesty that honors murder. But that's just my personal feeling based on what i've learned and come to know about the history of the holiday.

I dont knock anybody who celebrates it. Everybody has their own beliefs and comfort systems.

For those of you who ARE celebrating, what are your plans? I read today that AAA has calculated holiday travel will be up...but that most people have said they will be traveling by CAR instead of plane. Its in direct response to the new security measures the TSA has adopted.

I'm not traveling anywhere until New Year's.

We've had this board going for quite a few years. Its been more "active" at times than others but through many years and holidays, we've been here. I dont have to wait for this time of year to say this, and I usually dont. but I AM thankful for the continued support and friendship of those of you who have been here with me on staff and those who still frequent the board!

Thank you all for that!

I'm headed down to Boca with my family to see my grandmother, great aunt and uncle, and cousin. We're all going to a restaurant for Thanksgiving so it should be fun. But honestly i'm more excited about Black Friday lol. Yes, i'm one of the crazies that get up at 4 in the morning to go shopping. :D And of course just being able to see my family. Oh! And having a 4 day weekend. :D

And of course, i'm thankful for having all you wonderful people in my life! :)

Yeah see, I started doing the restaurant thing for turkey day in 2004. its WONDERFULL! Last year was my first holiday where I had no options to pick from. I wasnt upset or anything but i did want to enjoy some food and so i found this place called Ellendale's which is not too far from my house. It has great ambience and their turkey day spread is amazing. So i made a reservation and treated myself to that. It was a little pricey but the food was high quality and the drinks were awesome and the place itself was nice. I even dressed up a bit lol. I didnt mind eating by myself. I just brought a book to enjoy.

Ive tried doing Black Friday a few times but after 2006? i just said forget it. alot of these stores play on people's desire for "fantastic bargins" and pull shady shit. those doorbuster deals for example...there's like 3 of those items and there's 1000 people waiting outside to try and get them LOL.

again, im just speaking of my own experience and outlook. if people behaved like civilized human beings on black friday, i would try it again. there's some stores like target VERY near my house so i could totally make the trip but people just dont have any courtesy these days and with my temper being the way it is, i feel like its not worth brawling over something that will eventually be "on sale" again anyway.

Have a good time with your family! dont get trampled by the unruly folks at the stores lol!

Family, Family, Family.

I am staying at home with a 5-day weekend and my parents coming by to meet me at the in-laws, and my best homie is coming into town.

So good times.

Turkey with my family, and has been that way forever. I've always been excited to eat Turkey dinner every year, and I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade too, because it's interesting to see which celebrities get to perform at it.
