Spin off: Interracial dating

Thinking about Screen Legend's post about the church who voted to ban interracial marraige, I decided to post this spin off thread asking what's YOUR opinion/feeling about interracial dating or marraige?

We've talked about this on the board a few years back but since there are new members here & since it's been a few years & others may have had some experience that changed their opinion since then, I wanted to revisit this.

Please share your thoughts :)

well ideally it SHOULDN'T matter, but you & I both know it does b/c we live in a country that is very much sick w/ racism. we AREN'T living in "post racial times" (as Obama, imo, foolishly attempted to suggest on the dawn of his winning the '08 election) If anything, racism was becoming more covert & then AFTER his election, it began erupting all over again.

interracial dating shouldnt be an issue. ppl should just be able to enjoy/love who they like regardless of color. but it's been made one, for decades. @ one time it was illegal in many states & before that, if a black man even LOOKED too long @ a white woman he'd be lynched.

you have ppl like Jill Scott who go on tyrades about black men who date white women, saying that "there aren't enough black men to go around as it is"; you have ppl like david duke who suggest "race mixing is plot to dilute & destroy the unique purity of the white race"
 
^^ That was my personal opinion above.

And Jill Scott is a racist. She stood on stage where I used to work and talked about how all white people are evil.

& as for JS, yeah I didnt realize how big a problem she had w/ white women until i read her blog. It blew me away, the bitterness & resentment that radiated from that blog! For a woman who has such a nice voice & vocal style...this blog made her look so UGLY to me & i totally stopped listening to her music after that
