This is the latest from CNN:

NEW YORK (AP) -- In a story unusual even for a soap opera and believed to be a television first, ABC's "All My Children" this week will introduce a transgender character who is beginning to make the transition from a man into a woman.

The character, a flamboyant rock star known as Zarf, kisses the lesbian character Bianca and much drama ensues. The storyline begins with Thursday's episode of the daytime drama.

Zarf annoys me to no end, but i'm glad that AMC is once again doing something that's considered 'taboo' on soaps.

Wow, the whole transgender storyline must be of interest to viewers. They did that on the Showtime Series the L - Word with Moira who wanted to become "Max", which I hated the character. They were slowly progressing from a woman to a male with the injections and all.

That's a first though for a Soap. Soaps are really branching out now more and more. Its kinda nice to see some unique ideas rather than the same old Bobby meets Jenny, has sex, Bobbby Cheats on Jenny for her best friend. Jenny kills Bobby but her best friend is pregnant lol. Or something like that.

I have seen that character, and BOY she is UGLY... but I like the idea for a character like that, I just don't want it dealt with all fluffy..
