Before she was Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar played Kendall Hart, the daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) on All My Children. With the soap opera going off the air in September, Gellar has made plans to return — but not as Kendall. In fact, she doesn't exactly know what she'll be doing at all, since Kendall has been played Alicia Minshew for the past several years.

"I can today officially confirm that I will be doing a guest-spot," Gellar said Thursday during the fall TV preview session for her new CW series Ringer. "When I heard the show was canceled, I didn't understand. It just doesn't make sense to me. I called [the casting director] and said, 'I want to do something.' But I was very specific: I don't want to be Kendall. That's Alicia's role, but I wanted to be a part of it. I have no idea what I'm going to be doing... I will be doing one day. I'm excited."

Despite the fact I think it's crap they're taking AMC and OLTL off of tv, I think its awesome that so many previous actors who made their start on the show are coming back for small cameos.
 
Yes. SMG ROCKED as Kendall! Ahhh AMC during my highschool years! That was definately a hot time for the show.

I think SMG is a decent actress & yet another example of the kind of talent that can come from a SOAP vs some b.s. reality show.

I never really got on board w/ Alicia Menshew as Kendall II but she does favor Susan Lucci/Erika Kane a bit so i just let it go @ that.

To see SMG back on AMC in some way @ all is gonna be interesting. Hell Dixie has come back what...3 times now?
 
FYI- AMC & OLTL are getting a "second act" via internet tv. I'm hopefull for that but I know for many, especially the much older viewers, it may as well just be goodbye for them since they dont even use computers.
 
I'm excited about this. I LOVE SMG and I really miss seeing her on tv [which is why I can't wait for her new show]. I have never seen her on AMC, but I heard she was amazing.

I have only seen Alicia Minshew as Kendall so that's who I picture when I think of the character.

I may have to tune in and watch when Sarah's on. :)

Don't get me started on Dixie, I beg of you! :rolleyes2:
 
quite a few ppl are going to return @ some point apparently, even Carol Burnett among others.

I still think its a shame what ABC did. Why mess w/ an american tradition? The shit they plan to replace those soaps with is not gonna succeed. We have enough reality shows & cooking shows. :rolleyes2:
 
is it just me or is Sarah Michelle Gellar really getting a push this year, i haven't seen her around this much since Buffy was in it's high days. Shes doing this spot, she has a new show coming on next season, if i find her in a new movie I'm gonna want the number for her agent.
