Rosie Perez, Nicolle Wallace Join 'The View' | Video - ABC News

------------------------

Unexpected but interesting choices to round out the latest roster on The View  I also wonder if there will be tension between Whoopi & Rosie, since both women are vocal in their strong opinions, even though they tend to be on the same side of things. I wonder if this roster will perhaps be a bit TOO serious though, w/ the depature of Joy Behar a little while back, the humour @ the table kind of evaporated but now that Sherri Shepard & Jenny McCarthy are gone, the IQ of the show might go up a bit.

Two Rosies? << BUZZER >>

It's becoming more of a celebrity panel..I don't like that. It used to be the opinions of smart women who were maybe "notorious" in some way, or actual JOURNALISTS and now it's like... oh you're famous? Join the show!

You're quite right about the change in their criteria from recruiting new panel members. They used to have a truly diverse cross section of women in society. now its all about "big names".

I think this current line up could be potentially TOO SERIOUS & w/out someone like Joy Behar to break them up, who will get the laughs? But @ least the idiot factor (Sherri Shephard & Jenny McCarthy) is gone.

Nicolle Wallace So Far a Snooze on The View | Mediaite

Ppl I was chatting to about this don't think Wallace will last long. I think she just needs to be given a chance to settle in & warm up. The writer even points out this gig is a long way from what she was doing as a political strategist.

The View DOES need to have different points of view from its panel that can be delivered w/ intelligence. That's where I sincerely hope Wallace will DIFFER from Elizabeth Hassleback, who in my opinion, was a looney toon. Sherri Shephard was a moron too.

I hope they give Wallace a chance to find her niche before they send her packing. The View wouldn't be worth watching if everyone agreed on everything, then some of the moments that have made the show so memorable would not happen anymore!

I gotta tell you...I watched an episode of The New View the other day...the first new one of the season...and it was uncomfortable to say the least. Even the audience in the studio didn't seem to give anybody a particularly warm reception.

So...here's hoping it works, but it won't without SOMEBODY fighting with SOMEBODY lol. I mean Hasselbeck was conservative to a fault, but people tuned in to see her debate back and forth with the ladies...she DID keep things heated and I just don't know if they are going to be able to find somebody that's going to put themselves through that as long as she did lol.
