Robin Williams, dead @ 63

Man...I'm so saddened by this. :( I grew up loving his comedy so much, but then truly appreciating what an amazing dramatic actor he was as I got older. From Patch Adams, to Good Will Hunting, to Law and Order SVU, he was more than just a comedian, he was a truly an amazing actor.

The world is a little less bright today. RIP.

Yes, he was much more than just a comedic actor ( though he was pretty damn funny in that regard). My favorite serious movie of his is "dead poets society". W/ his funny stuff, there's a treasure trove to pick from. As a little girl, i grew up watching "mork & mindy" the cooky spinoff of happy days that he starred in. I also loved the movie "hook" where played a reluctant, adult peter pan called back to neverland. I also remember the live comedy specials he did w/ whoopi goldberg. They were raunchy, but funny as hell!

Jesus Robin Williams, there's a name that made my childhood. To this day Aladdin and Hook are two of my favorite movies of all time. Clinical depression is a rough thing to live through.

Depression is NO JOKE. I've had bouts of it a few times during my life. Thankfully I can count on only one hand the times I've been depressed.

I've also had some suicidal thoughts but thank God it went no further than my mind.

I will miss him. My mom couldn't even believe that "the jokester of all jokesters" - her words - committed suicide. :(
