In 1996 the Santorums had a stillborn son, which they spent the night with at the hospital, even though he was deceased. They slept w/ the infant corpse between them and then took the dead baby home and introduced him to their children as their "angel baby brother," and even let them hold the corpse. AND, to top it all off, Karen Santorum wrote a book about it, titled "Letters to Gabriel: The True Story of Gabriel Michael Santorum.

Okay so not only is Santorum STUPID (& quite uninformed on matters regarding civil liberties, the constitution & other things you'd want a candidate to have SOME working knowledge of) but also DERRANGED

I understand grieving parents will have a powerfull reaction to the loss of a child but THIS? this just seems morbid & demented.

I don't think any of us can pretend to know what it's like to lose a child, unless it's happened to us. I think this story is in incredibly bad taste. If it's even true.

Considering that the book is out (I looked online) I'm guessing that it is true.

I'm thinking about the idea of them bring the dead infant's corpse to the home to introduce it to the children. That just blows my mind.

Well, I don't trust any media outlet not to spin a story to its liking. And I just think there's plenty to attack him for that they don't need to resort to making fun of his dead child.
