Way To Go America! NOT!

On Sunday Night, Nina Davuluri (Miss New York) was crowned Miss America. Nina became the first ever woman of Indian-Descent to win the crown, and not soon after winning, hundreds of misinformed and culturally ignorant drones took to twitter to voice their disgust.
Here is just a small sample of some of the things People Said (Usernames Included):
@EJRBuckeye "Well, they just picked a Muslim for Miss America. That must've made Obama happy. Maybe he had a vote."
@meredithRoanell "This is America, Not Miss Foreign Country!"
@alywalanksy "The sad thing is, Miss Kansas didn’t make it because America isn’t ready to crown someone who represents AMERICA"
@kathrynRyan50 "She's like not even american and she won Miss America"
Pretty dim view of American Ideals, eh? Though many took action to PRAISE Davuluri, their praise was drowned out by the voices of the ignorant.
Davuluri competed with the idea of Cultural Diversity and Competence, and in her talent act, she blew the judges away with her Bollywood inspired dance moves. She is an aspiring Physician, and more importantly than all THAT, she is AMERICAN.
What do you think? Are you pleased with the outcome? Do you find Miss Kansas a more suitable representative for the title? And what are your reactions to the Tweets you just read?
