Pope demands greater ethics in economic policy
By NICOLE WINFIELD - Associated Press | AP – 1 hr 33 mins ago
MADRID (AP) — Pope Benedict XVI denounced the profit-at-all-cost mentality that he says is behind Europe's current economic crisis as he arrived in hard-hit Spain on Thursday, and said morals and ethics must play a greater role in formulating economic policy in the future.
---------------
<< snicker>> the Pope is still relevant?
First, I find it rather laughable that he's focusing on THIS instead of the lack of vigilance & most certainly the lack of ETHICS that resulted in decades of sexual abuse @ the hands of scores of priests on dozens of helpless victims & the lack of any real action on the part of the Vatican.
Secondly, this same entity that the Pope presides over stood by & silently endorsed (& most certainly) benefited from one of the darkest times in european & global history when Germany's economy experienced a boon...@ the cost of over 16 million lives across Europe. There were certainly NO ethics involved or considered when forced labor (slavery) was justified to support this "economy" & genocide became an industry supported by all levels of govt as well as private business & even the catholic church, who only issued WEAK "protests" when the scope of the genocide became too wide & sickening for even them to gloss over.
FUCK THE POPE!
Yeah Europe is feeling what America is feeling & there's alot of shit that's wrong & needs to be addressed. Ethics DO have a place in reforms but nobody needs to hear from the figure head of an archaic entity w/ plenty of blood on its hands courtesy of unethical economic practices & benefits.
