This gives a whole new awful depth of meaning to the saying "War is HELL!" :cwm13:

I honestly SHOULD have posted the initial article about this in EE two days ago but it slipped my mind. I feel kind of irresponsible for that.

This situation really has given me pause. It's disgusting! Even the veteran who offers his own take on the situation is taken aback & you can tell that by reading this story.

What are YOUR thoughts on this?

& don't misunderstand me...i'm NOT validating the taliban's "moral high ground" claims either. I know they've done just as disgusting if not worse to OUR dead in their campaigns of war & terror BUT as the author of this article wrote... "weren't we told, trained NOT to become like them?" I don't judge/condemn ALL service men/women by the actions of these four marines, but these four marines need to be punished for this. it's an embarrassment to our country & disgraceful conduct for any human being to do to another (dead or not).

I was disturbed by this article, too. While I understand being over there is difficult enough, and being in a war is stressful enough. However, being in the U.S. Marines means you're 'one of the few, the proud'. There is also a code of honor when dealing with war tactics, and that is simply not one of them. All that will do is provoke a riot from the other side, and they will be ruthlessly targeting Marines. In my opinion, it was very uncouth, and something that is not reflected or shared by other military soldiers. I hope their commanding officers punish them but good.
