Movie Soundtracks

[Karma]

Remember how after Whitney Houston's "The Bodyguard" soundtrack came out & changed everything how w/ every film, a soundtrack came out & ppl actually bought them? Some did really well, like the one I just mentioned. "Romy & Michele's Highschool Reunion" soundtrack was such a hit that they released a part 2 & that was right ahead of the trend of retro 80s, which those albums were full of.

Do soundtracks matter anymore? I dont hear much about them & there hasnt been one I've been motivated to buy in a while. What about you?

I depends on the soundtrack cause a lot of movies aren't using original songs in their soundtracks any more, i think the last OST i heard coming out for a movie was the Tron Legacy one done by Daft Punk with came out with more acclaim then the actual movie.

Usually Tarantino movies have amazing soundtracks Jackie Brown, Kill Bill v1 and Pulp Fiction are all wonderful

Tron had a good sound track, so did Hanna which I think was done by Chemical brothers.

Only other one I can remember is Never Back Down, which was just a collection of good songs!

Too often the really good songs from a movie are left OFF the soundtrack, which pisses me off to no end. The most recent one I can think of buying is Country Strong, which is a good soundtrack but not as good as some from a few years back.
