Michael Douglas is playing Hank Pym in Ant-Man!
Michael Douglas has officially signed on Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. And now Marvel is revealing that he's playing Hank Pym, which means Paul Rudd (the lead and younger Ant-Man of this story) is the other comic book iteration of this hero Scott Lang. But wait, there's a twist. Spoilers ahead.

Variety is reporting that Douglas is 100% in to star as the retired scientists Hank Pym who invented the serum that turned himself into a superhero (with the abilities to change his size). After Pym retired he then bestowed the Ant-Man title to Lang.
I'm not sure why but I just feel like Douglas is a weird choice

Well he's supposed to be old cause he's handing off the Ant-man identity to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) so that how they're working out the multiple Ant-men thing, though my question is how is this effecting Wasp? (though he was always older than her, Douglas is too old)

It's weird because it's hard to take Douglas seriously when he's posing and looking like THAT. :p

he wasn't THAT damn old when he & wasp got together initially & nobody drew him looking THAT old in the first 3 volumes of the avengers whenever he was on the active roster :haha:

George Perez KINDA made him (& Black Panther) look haggard, which surprised me, but other than that, he was presented as being old & if anything, he & Scott Lang looked rather similar in age.

Hey. I don't know anything about these characters but MD just might surprise you.

Not to go off-topic or anything, but I absolutely adore the Robert Langdon book 'series' by Dan Brown. When I first heard that they were making Da Vinci Code into a movie, I was thrilled. Then came the news that Tom Hanks of all people would be Langdon. TOM HANKS. I was aware he did a few dramas, but to me he was always the 'funny guy'. So when the movie came out I went to see it, even though I had my reservations. The most surprising thing about the entire movie? Hanks WAS Langdon and now I can't imagine a better actor playing that character.

But then again, what the hell do I know? :haha: As I already said, I know nothing about these characters. But Ant-Man sounds really interesting. :)
